Great experience overall. Fantastic reef, not artificial island and amazing staff.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Banyan Tree. I really loved the beachfront sand villa on the island — falling asleep to the sound of the sea breeze at night was wonderful. However, since this honeymoon trip only lasted half a month, we visited Bali in Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, The Ritz-Carlton in the Maldives, and went snorkeling at the local island Maafushi. By the time we arrived at Banyan Tree, there was only one night left for us here. Perhaps because of that short stay, the Chinese guest relations manager assigned to me was rather dismissive. I had read recommendations on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social platform) saying that Banyan Tree offers certain activities depending on how many nights you stay. Even though I stayed just one night, I expected some information or special touches for my honeymoon, but Holly, the Chinese manager, didn’t mention any activities nor made any effort to make our stay feel special. Her attitude came across as arrogant. Having stayed at many Banyan Tree properties in China before, I’ve never encountered such an aloof staff member. That said, all the other staff were excellent — the front desk team that day was warm and welcoming. So overall, I still had a great time, and if I have the chance, I would love to come back for a longer stay.

Stayed here in May 2026, quiet time to visit so resort felt very private. Weather was abit unpredictable but we managed to snorkel on 2 out of the 3 days. Massage was very good too. Reef at Dhawa Ihuru is nicer, which is a 3 minute boat ride away and they have regular boats between the two sister resorts. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Holly was our main contact during the stay and helped us with bookings. Special mention to Ahmed who was kind and attentive, and made the meals we had feel more special.

A truly beautiful Maldivian island experience We had the pleasure of spending two wonderful nights at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and honestly had such a fantastic stay from beginning to end. We were very kindly upgraded to a Beachfront Villa, which made the experience even more special. What I absolutely loved was that we could enjoy both sunrise and sunset views during our stay — something that felt incredibly unique and magical. The island itself is stunning: wide, soft white-sand beaches surrounding the entire island, a beautiful turquoise lagoon and an incredibly colourful underwater world full of marine life. The snorkeling here was truly excellent and one of the highlights of our stay. The service throughout the resort was very good — warm, attentive and very refined, with this beautiful understated Thai hospitality that feels genuine and never intrusive. The food quality was also outstanding, with every meal feeling fresh, high-end and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic stay and felt incredibly comfortable and well cared for throughout our visit. I can recommend Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru 100% to anyone looking for: a classic Maldivian island feeling, beautiful beaches and lagoon, excellent snorkeling, peaceful luxury and truly heartfelt service We would return anytime and left with wonderful memories of this special island.
