Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru

We had a lovely, peaceful two weeks here. The villas were very spacious and always kept immaculately clean. Fatima met our every need, Waheed ensured that everything was perfect for us and Zihan always looked after extremely well at meal times. Would I recommend this island? Yes I certainly would.

We just got back from a family stay at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, and honestly, it was just what we needed. Total relaxation, gorgeous ocean views, and so much time spent just embracing the sea – swimming, snorkelling, diving and doing absolutely nothing in the best way possible. A huge shoutout to our butler, Holly – she made everything feel seamless. Whatever we needed, she was on it, super attentive and caring without being intrusive. And Abudullah the housekeeper was so friendly, always smiling, and went the extra mile to make our kids feel special. Highly recommend for families who want a chill, beautiful escape with genuine heart from the staff. Can't wait to come back already!

A fantastic resort offering tranquility and a barefoot philosophy. Villas guarantee 100% of privacy. Delicious food at the Japanese Madihiya restaurant. Banyan Tree is not crowded, so you often feel like you own the whole island. Great breakfasts. And last but not least - the exceptional staff... We hope to return...

Me and my husband visited Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru from 06 - 22 March 2026 for our honeymoon and it was incredible!! No destination will ever be good enough after visiting this place! 🤣 I keep thinking of things to add but I've tried to keep it short so you don't get bored lol. We landed and were greeted straight away, he took our bags and escorted us to the private resort boat. The boat was great, we had our life jackets then a cold bottle of water and cool towels which felt amazing. We arrive to drums and a lovely welcome from our host, sun shining and the most amazing jetty. It's a small island, walkable in around 10-15 mins depending on how fast you are on sand, and in the sun! It's a different resort to others on offer, as there are no water bungalows, they are all beach villas to protect the reef. Personally I love that as you get the white sand beaches and sunsets with the blue sea as well. Like you're literally a few steps from the water and it's a short swim / paddle to the reef! The reef itself is amazing - we aren't confident snorkelers, so we did a few days in the shallows and even there we saw fish! Then went out to the reef through the markers they have, our favourite was opposite the bar early morning. We didn't see the turtles, but we saw so many fish, and huge shoals / schools of fish. It was just incredible. It was brilliant seeing all the corals they are growing as well to support the reef. We stayed in the Ocean View villas, number 5 and it was private, but with a view of the sea, palm trees and hammock - perfect spot on the beach with sunbeds as well as the shaded option which was beautiful. We had an incredible view of the sunset which we watched every night. No sunsets like there are here I swear! The bathroom is outdoor, and then you have your own private pool, hot tub and a second bamboo shower. Everything is as pictured online, flowers placed and we had a lovely happy honeymoon display when we arrived. We had little gifts left on our bed at evening turn down. Air con was brilliant and even though the bathroom is outdoors (as in there are no glass windows but it's a sheltered part of the villa) it has a really powerful fan and it feels cool so we were happy!! They use aromatherapy oils in the rooms and on the cool towels, everything just smells incredible. It felt so romantic, private like our own island at times and everyone is respectful of each others privacy. Fatima was our host, she was so lovely, kind, positive and wonderful! We loved her nature and the fact she messaged me a video of the newly hatched turtles when we'd got home, just shows how great she is! She was on hand on what's app to help with reservations, questions, any special activities were arranged with her help. She was wonderful. All the staff were wonderful!! Every single person! The food was also amazing, Madihiyaa was our favourite for food, we love Japanese food so lunch was the best here. The sushi and drinks are fabulous. We also loved Saffron, and the BBQs held a few times a week! The tuna tartare was delicious and my husband loved the tuna steak. We also had a honeymoon meal under the stars which was delicious, and the floating breakfast was well worth it omg! We loved it so much! Finally, I don't think either of us has stayed anywhere that has people who work there as lovely, welcoming, kind and sincere as they do here. I couldn't name every person who we had conversations with, but we would love to just shout out a few special people who will stay with us forever ❤️ The team at Madihiyaa - thank you for the most wonderful food, drinks, venue, and thoughtfulness - we looked forward to seeing you every time we came to visit and our afternoons at the pool were our favourite! Especially the margaritas! Uma, Vicky, Nishanth and Zihan thank you for being so lovely and making our stay so special. The team at Saffron, especially Ahmed, Alman, Shyryn - it was lovely getting to know you all, thank you for being so lovely and smiley! If you want a romantic, relaxing, and "can't believe my eyes" stay we'd recommend here.

I had an incredibly wonderful stay in Banyan Tree Maldives! From a very friendly and hospitable staff. Clean and a very beautiful room with view of the ocean and different themes daily. Perfect lounge chairs, hammocks, huts, etc.. Delicious foods from breakfast buffet, thai and japanese restaurant . An excellent spa experience with my best masseur-EE, the perfectly sweet welcome and after spa tea. Not to mention perfect sunrise, sunset and view of the full moon with a lot of stars. I was so amazed with the hammocks on top of the beach water on the side of the japanese restaurant which was perfect especially for cocktails and sunset view! I will miss watching the fishes and sharks at night by the runway. Overall am looking forward for another Banyan Tree Maldives trip!!!
