We highly recommend Baros. We came to Baros for our first visit to the Maldives because it was highly recommended to us and it did not disappoint! The atoll is simply gorgeous, but that's not even the best part. The staff are the best of anywhere we have stayed. They are friendly, kind and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, even making a customized menu for me (a very picky vegetarian). The atoll is pretty remoate and laid back, which was exactly what we were looking for and it was the right mix of activity and relaxation time. We stayed in the over water villas and just loved them. However, we also got a tour of the beach villas, which were equally beautiful and well appointed. Having a house reef just steps from our villa was a major plus, we saw sharks, turtles and may colorful fish, at any time we wanted. Beyond all of these things, I cannot say enough about the amazing staff, who seemed to know our preferences and anticipated our needs, especially our butler, Rifaau, who was incredible!

our stay @baros was very relaxing, a perfect mix of hot_sunny & rainy [mostly night_perfect timed!] weather, white beach, colorful underwater world, delicious food for every diet, attentive and pleasant hospitality from really everybody on that beautiful tropical island — all you need on a sun_soaking, relaxing holiday, thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Baros. From the moment we were welcomed onto the island it felt like a second home. We split our time there, first staying in one of the Water Pool Villas. These were beautiful and spacious, with direct access to the water for snorkelling. The pool was a highlight and worth the upgrade from the standard water villa. The island itself is like a tropical paradise, rich in wildlife. There are 4 restaurants on the island with a variety of cuisine and excellent food. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with so many options to choose from. Half way through our stay we moved to a Baros Suite. These are massive suites, newly decorated, to a very high standard. They have an outdoor shower, which we loved and a large private deck area and large pool. They are very private with direct access to what feels like your own beach. There are lots of activities, a highlight for us was the dolphin sunset cruise and the kayaking. Baros has a one of a kind house reef. Snorkelling equipment is provided complimentary from the diving center, which you can keep in your room to use during your stay. The snorkelling there is amazing, swimming with colourful fish, rays, black tip reef sharks and turtles. What made our stay extra special was our butler Saeed. Saeed was so kind, and couldn’t do enough for us, from the moment we arrived to waving us goodbye at the end of a truly unforgettable stay. This was our first time visiting the Maldives and we would highly recommend Baros. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

Amazing place and location (20 mins from airport by speedboat and has a stunning reef) Food is top quality but be prepared to pay top dollar as well if you want to really enjoy nice meals each evenings. (Fortunately I was prepared thanks to other helpful reviews!) Staff are absolutely excellent (and are well looked after by management which is very important) - Reema, Hardy, Sugar and Marie (the last two being diving instructors/ marine biology experts) and the whole team did an amazing job to make our stay special. Thank you Baros team!

This is the ultimate luxurious Robinson Crusoe Maldivian experience. A small intimate, boutique hotel. The reef is excellent, teeming with marine life. Then of course is the wonderful service. Saeed was absolutely fantastic and nice to get to chat to Maldivians given the resort set up in the tourism industry in Maldives. The villa was superb including the house keeping (Thanks to Nahed (sorry not sure of spelling). The food was delicious too. A truly 5 star experience all round.
