Last year, we were so overwhelmed by Gili that we felt to return. We wanted to show Gili to our children (18y+20y). As soon as we set foot on the island, we felt that magic again. Thasleem, who gave us an unforgettable time last year and with whom we stayed in touch throughout the year to have news of the island, welcomed us along with many other familiar faces from the Gili team. This year, too, we had an unforgettable time. It's the best island ever!!! The team is amazing, and dining with Chef Hari was again top-notch. We also revisited the Japanese restaurant "By the sea" and took a sushi course. Simply first class! I don't know exactly what it is, the beauty of the island, the warmth of the entire team, everything is just perfect. We can hardly wait to come back. Many thanks to the entire team, especially Thasleem, Miffy, Hari, Rohan, Lolzy, Wabbe, Rambo, Santo and Kuchy for making our vacation unforgettable.

Everything about this trip was amazing. Our “Ms. Friday” Shaany was outstanding at planning our itinerary and included a few wonderful surprises. The housekeeping service with Nimal and Ilham was outstanding, as were the dining experiences with Irufan and Aboo as servers. We especially enjoyed our “dining with the senses” experience with “ChefTok”. Really excellent service, great food, and a fantastic resort!

This was by far the best vacation I have ever had. The staff treats you like family. They have Fridays who are like butlers and are there to take care of your every need. For me, Raya, Thasleem and Bobo were just amazing Fridays - and Raya really touched my heart multiple times when she would carry my sleeping 8 year old granddaughter into the villa and tuck her into bed. My granddaughter wanted to pack her in her suitcase and bring her back to the U.S. with us. I can’t express my gratitude to all 3 of them for making everything so easy! I also wanted to mention the wonderful sitters, Shale and Shira, who watched the 4 children in our group, aged 6 months to 8 years, so lovingly for hours each day to give the parents and grandmother time to explore the island and have adult time! The children loved them so much, they kept asking when they were coming! The staff at the spa were also amazing - the atmosphere was so serene and healing. I went 3 different days and loved the massage, the facial, and the acupressure treatment - but most exciting for me was getting my first acupuncture treatment ever for the pain in my shoulders, neck and knees - and it worked! I have such gratitude for all of the staff there. The island is beautiful and so well equipped, they even have their own doctor and nurses who treated me after I had a fall. Being a nurse for many years myself, I greatly appreciated their knowledge and professionalism but also their compassion and kindness. And then as I hobbled about the island on crutches for a few days, the entire staff made sure that I was able to do everything I wanted, helping me on the buggy and boats, carrying my bag or food plates - such appreciation for all. And - the food!!!!! I’ve eaten at many 5 star restaurants over all my years, but this stands out above all for taste, variety, freshness and presentation! Kudos to all of the chefs and preparers and servers! Thank you! The rooms were lovely and private - with incredible outdoor spaces right on the water. Oh - and the sunsets!!!! The whole resort, the activities, the staff and the natural beauty just contributed to the incredible sense of awe and wonder and gratitude that I walked around with all week! Now I understand why my son comes back here over and over - and I’ll fly back here again, halfway around the globe, to be at Gili Lankanfushi again!
