Reviews for Villa La Estancia - Riviera Nayarit
Just completed 10 days in paradise. The Villa/Condo was by far one of the best that we have ever stayed at in the world. 2 BR. 3 Bath. Suitable for the 4 of us, useable for up to 8. Kitchen was well equipped to handle your favorite meals/snacks. Local dining was great as well. First trip to PV, but have been to many places in MX. as well as South America, Asia, US, Canada. The staff was outstanding in every respect; Oscar at the pool is an amazing guy, when he tells you to ask him... he has the answers. If you prefer to stay home and cook, the MEGA (store) is a 1 mile walk or a cheap 5$ I think cab ride. The driver will let you out and not wait, there is a Taxi station outside, easy to get a ride back. There is a small well stocked convenience store in the sister property next door. They don't have everything, but you can survive quite well if you don't want to travel. The ocean is somewhat on the rough side, I would not recommend the beach here, for swimming, from what I saw, unless very experienced. This I am sure is seasonal, but we are certified divers and have been in watersEast, /west and elsewhere. The pool and the 4 hot tubs are great, some restricted to adults. There are Massages available at the resort, we opted for some on the beach a little to the north of the resort. VERY NICE and the $ was way less than the resort. Go early, limited sanitation. This resort is owned, not a time share, not a spring break place, nobody wants that there! If you want to go relax and enjoy, bring your manners and I am confident you will have a great experience. If you need help, I would tell you to just ask. I am sure we will be returning at some point....If we don't purchase :)

After staying at it's sister resort (Villa Del Palmar Flamingos) two years ago, we decided to go back, but to upgrade a bit and stay at Villa La Estancia. Resorts are next to each other (more or less adjoining), and are very similar in many ways, but La Estancia is a bit more upscale, and definitely quieter, less busy, more adult-oriented. Villa Del Palmar is mostly time-shares, so they hit you HARD with the sales, which is very annoying. La Estancia is 30% owners, and the rest hotel suites, so no sales at all. The customer service is AMAZING, and every single staff member does his/her best to accommodate every guest. In particular, Hector & Luis, at the pool bar & restaurant, and Oscar (pool butler) were amazing. Very kind, helpful and attentive. It's easy to tell they love their jobs, are treated well by the resort, and thoroughly enjoy their jobs, meeting new people all the time. We went the first week of May, which is their slowest season, so there were only a few other vacationers while we were there - literally. Villa Del Palmar was definitely busier, and more happening at all times than La Estancia. We were also told that La Estancia is quiet after 6pm, to accommodate owners. No music or activities, etc. If you want daytime and evening activities, you go next door, where they have a plethora of stuff to do. The weather was great - 85 F and sunny every day, but never too hot. La Estancia's grounds are very clean & beautiful, and perfectly maintained in every place. Very much looks like a five star resort. Also, beautiful beach, and plenty of beach chairs (although only a few umbrellas, and no trees or shade). There are two restaurants here - breakfast & dinner at the lobby/outdoor restaurant, and lunch at the pool bar, also serving the beach. It was definitely good to be able to go next door to eat at the buffet (bfast, lunch or dinner), and/or at the restaurant on the beach (serving the pool, beach, and Italian dinners). I heard there is also a Sports bar, but no one ever went, and we really never saw it. Couple of small negatives: 1) We needed shade most of the time; we were able to find it at the pool, but only when we combined 3 or 4 umbrellas over us (which, if we weren't the only ones at the pool much of the time, would be a problem). It'd be nice if they had more shady spots/trees. The majority of the day, the entire pool was in the sun, which limited us a bit, since we burned the first day, and needed some shade from then on. 2) Although the rooms were great, and of course every single room has a great view and balcony, the beds were not great (hard/flat), and the pillows were pretty bad - all very skimpy. We actually requested 8 more pillows (so had a total of 12 to choose from), but none was great. Also, the sheets/blankets were very skimpy and not luxurious in the least. Overall, we gave this resort

Home away from home!!! Food from the event was first class the talent was entertaining and made the trip that mush more special! Only feedback is quality of the resort food everything else was superb!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort. The facilities are very clean and exceptionally well maintained. Angel at the La Parrilla Grille was especially receptive to my wife's request for gluten free and we really enjoyed the Vallarta ceviche with (GF) chips. Their Baja Fish Tacos were the best that I have had! Happy hour (2 for 1) from 16:00 - 17:00 in the pool bar was much appreciated. The pool was not crowded. Villa La Estancia is much quieter than their sister property Villa Del Flamingos next door. Guests at Estancia have access to the facilities and restaurants at Flamingos. We rented directly from owners and declined the all inclusive option ($129 USD per person). Absolutely no way could we make that work so we took a taxi to the local Mega and bought groceries and wine. We loved the resort, pool and beach. It was like living in a postcard... We can't wait to return.
