Attentive service, fantastic location, and an great front desk team. The Quinta Real Oaxaca is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. We stayed for three nights in January and had a lovely time. Staying in a refurbished convent was an restful experience. We did encounter noise from catering for wedding festivities on a Saturday night that kept us up later than expected, but a call to the front desk quickly resolved the issue.

Beautiful historical hotel in the heart of Oaxaca. Staff excellent, especially the housekeeping staff who cleaned our room meticulously and left quirky bookmarks and chocolate every night. Lovely touch (including the ribbons on the towels) Only issue was the sink in the bathroom which although beautifully crafted was very very low.

Our family stayed in Oaxaca for a week to attend a wedding. Since the wedding party had an event at the hotel in the garden we booked our rooms. Every single person at the hotel was truly exceptional and nothing we asked seemed to be too outlandish for the staff. We were a bit concerned about our safety so I opted to ask the hotel for suggestion on a tour company or guide. On that note the hotel has 24 hour security and at night we were stopped and asked for our info. Carlos booked a private tour for 2 days for the family. Emilio our tour guide was out of this world and even though the prices were a bit higher than a group tour we were able to customize it to suit our desires. The hotel is right in the heart of the city so you can walk anywhere. We did just that. I could go on and on but what I can tell you is that we were apprehensive about coming to Oaxaca but left knowing we will be coming back soon and staying at the Quinta Real.

If you’re looking for a forgettable 5 star luxury hotel with everything new and shiny, this ain’t for you. If you want a memorable stay in an historic hotel, with wonderful public spaces, perfect traditional service, and a unique vibe, it is.

Fabulous, though slightly dingy. But totally forgivable. Amazingly courteous and generous service. The restaurant is the best restaurant we ate at (and we ate at all the best reviewed, Michelin starred ones). It is outstandingly good. The building is so lovely and unique and peaceful. Beds comfortable. Trying very hard to be a 5 star hotel and not quite getting there but almost. So well meaning and you dont really need anything better. Who cares if your table has some scratches in it and looks like it was installed in 1992. The building is from hundreds of years ago and the history is very magnificent and moving.
