I wanted to highly recommend the amazing Jamaica Inn hotel in Ocho Rios. My wife and I went in November just days after the awful Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica. It was incredible to find how well the hotel had coped with the storm and how amazing the staff were as always. It was our second time at the hotel and will definitely not be the last, my wife and I are keen on making it a very regular occurrence. I also wanted to call out the hotel for pulling out all the stops for my wife's birthday. From the amazing breakfast on our terrace complete with flowers from the estate, to the massages, the beach dinner and the cake, it really was an amazing day. Particular highlights for me from the trip were croquet on the lawn and the ever brilliant Bond movie on the beach. The staff once again were immaculate, which was all the more impressive given that we were there so close to the recent hurricane. Thank you as always to all the staff, from the management to the ground staff, everyone was smiling and gracious as ever. We will definitely be back and I cannot recommend the hotel enough. Must also call out the lovely Shadow (black Labrador), who brings an extra dose of joy to the hotel. x

From the minute we walked in, you could feel the soul of the place. It’s family-run, full of history, and has that effortless old-school elegance you just don’t see anymore. No surprise that Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe used to escape here in their jet-set days. Our suite opened straight over the Caribbean — proper postcard views — and we had hummingbirds flicking around outside the room. When we arrived, the team were already in full hurricane mode: boarding up windows, shifting furniture, securing everything around the 70-year-old property. But even with a storm on the doorstep, the staff were calm, organised, and genuinely kind. The Morrow family and their team were exceptional. From the managers to the frontline staff, everyone showed proper warmth, professionalism, and heart. They turned what should’ve been a stressful, slightly hairy few days into something unforgettable — and for all the right reasons. We can’t thank them enough. Jamaica Inn isn’t just a stunning, historic hotel — it’s a place run by people who genuinely care. We’ll be back when the sun’s shining and the sea’s calm again

Jamaica inn was a beacon of light during a very dark time after category 5 hurricane Mellissa whipped through Jamaica . They were opened within days of the hurricanes passing with impeccable service .

Jamaica Inn is totally unique, with an old world romantic sophistication, the most spectacular aspect being the staff who are really committed to providing first class service. The grounds are stunning, with a beautiful beach and a truly relaxing atmosphere. We were on site during Hurricane Melissa, they have a well structured and rehearsed response for these events. A very impressive establishment. We shall return.

I have not written a review for Jamaica Inn previously because there have been so many accurate and complete accounts in the past, and I didn't feel that I could add any new information or insight. But after our recent (seventh) visit, I feel that I really must confirm all that has been written before in such glowing terms. The staff, food and drink, rooms and the spectacular beach really are top notch. The service provided has been of a very high standard consistently over the years and you really have to experience the laid back vibe which permeates the whole property. For us, the high point of the day is the evening dinner on the Terrace – delicious food, smart, friendly and efficient service, and very appropriate Caribbean music played by a live band. Quite a few guests seem to have room service, but in my opinion , you can't beat that Terrace. It always a pleasure to see familiar staff members such as Alvin, Patrick and the warm and friendly Patrice. Two new faces we met this year were the effervescent Ashalene and the chilled Samantha who looked after during the long lazy days. You come home from Jamaica Inn feeling refreshed and renewed, which of course, is the whole point of a holiday. We can't wait to return in 2026, knowing that consistency will be assured. Thank you Jamaica Inn.
