Reviews for Resort at Squaw Creek

Long lines with every encounter. Resort appeared to be short staffed.

Booked a ski vacation but the resort chair to Palisades was closed. Had to wait 40+ minutes in the cold to catch the shuttle each way. The resort had advance knowledge that the lift was going to be closed yet two shuttle buses were parked and not running. Did not get the ski in ski out access we paid for.

Outdated, sloppy and weird

Stayed December 27, 2025, and this somehow already feels like a stay from years ago. Check-in was slow in a very relaxed, almost detached way, like urgency isn’t really part of the operating model here. Staff were polite, but explanations were fuzzy, and at least one person still called the resort by its old name, which quietly lowered expectations right away. The room was where things really went downhill. It technically looked cleaned, but it didn’t feel clean. The carpet had visible stains that made you very aware of where you were stepping, and some surfaces looked wiped but not actually cared for. It gave off that “we turned the room fast” vibe rather than anything close to refreshed. The furniture felt mismatched and tired, the lights worked in no obvious order, and the thermostat showed numbers that didn’t match reality. The bed was fine, but it’s hard to fully relax when the room feels a little questionable. I slept, but I didn’t feel rested, and part of that was definitely the room itself. Breakfast was crowded and underwhelming. Eggs were lukewarm, coffee was hot but forgettable, and the lines moved slowly despite not being that long. Everything existed, nothing impressed. Outside is doing most of the work here. The snow and mountain views are genuinely beautiful and remind you why you came to Tahoe. Unfortunately, the moment you go back inside, that magic fades. The hot tub was packed, towels were scarce, and the water temperature couldn’t seem to settle on a decision. Overall, this place feels like it’s stuck between a renovation, a rebrand, and an identity crisis, and the rooms are showing it. For the price and the setting, the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail is hard to overlook. I might stay again if location was the only thing that mattered, but I wouldn’t be excited about it. T

Todd deserves recognition for his work

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Last year weather and concert cancelled and it was a hassle but I was so happy to stay here so I booked a longer stay for my birthday this year and Todd went above and beyond. I will be back again for my birthday next year and I’d love for Todd to facilitate my stay!!!

Great mountain getaway

Beautiful resort. Family friendly with a romantic atmosphere! Great mix of family activities and adult ambience. Spa staff was terrific! Zianna helped me pick some eye cream that would work well with my existing skin care. Angelo had an exuberant charm and made us all feel so welcome. Berry was very accommodating at check in. We all enjoyed our stay and will be back again next year. Snow or no snow!

Memorable and Magical

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and accommodating . The lobby and grounds were so festive and inviting! The manager Angelo was easily accessible And stood out in his suit and tie making it a breeze to distinguish management from guest. He went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one! The Santa at Cascade’s was friendly and the wait staff there was so sweet and treated our family with such kindness. The receptionist Zianna, at the Spa was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with such pride and enthusiasm. My grandson loved the pools and the heated waters made for another great way to enjoy the outdoors. I have recommended this resort to many family and friends and will Definitely be back myself!
