We love this resort as a place to go to the mountains and pamper ourselves. Outdoor heated pool and hot tubs during winter. Skating rink. Steam room and sauna in fitness center. Everything is classy. Bed is incredible! Excellent service. Had some gripes this time -- sauna not working -- but staff was responsive.

The resort was awesome even though the snow conditions weren't. I'd heard that the place was sub par, but that was a long time ago. I'd stay there again and skip the Village altogether. The restaurants were as good or better than anything else at the Village.

Our smarts at the hotel was excellent. It was very conveniently located with lift access right out the guest towers. A quick stop or call to the ski concierge had your skis next to the lift in minutes.

I cannot sing enough praises about the Resort at Squaw Creek! We just returned from a five night much-needed family vacay. We had seven adults and four children ranging in ages from 2 - 12. They treated us like we were family. The staff is absolutely outstanding on every single level. The grounds were immaculate; they were beautifully kept and maintained. The views from every angle are simply breathtaking. We stayed in two, two bedroom suites; which was perfect for our family. The accommodations were luxurious yet very comfortable. The restaurants were all delicious - and we ate a lot! The breakfast buffet at Cascades was so good and the servers were so welcoming and sweet! My daughter who's two years old took to the kindest servers named Michael and Heidi. On top of them entertaining her while we enjoyed breakfast, they went above and beyond by surprising her with "Tahoe Tessie" and fresh milk and cookies when we got back to our room. ♡ Sandy's, the resort's onsite pub became like a second home for our group :-) The food is outstanding, but the service from the bartenders, staff and manager was even better. Additionally, my brother was celebrating his birthday while we were there and the front desk sent up a lovely card and bottle of vodka to his room. Executive Chef, Chris at Six Peaks; the fine dining restaurant was amazing, personable and gave my brother, who's also a chef a tour of their kitchen. Olivia, the assistant GM, squeezed us in to the restaurant when they were slammed. Shawn, the awesome resident bartender took incredible care of us throughout our stay. Although we didn't get the snow we hoped for, we can't control mother nature. Other than that, it was the most delightful family trip we've ever had! We can not wait to come back!

So I had to go to the Resort at Squaw Creek for a business conference, the last day of which happened to be my birthday. I took my wife with me as there are some social opportunities along with the conference and we love Tahoe, and Tahoe City in particular, so it was great opportunity to go and have a little mini trip paid partially paid for through work. The resort itself is a beautiful property and they upgraded our room without us even asking, which was pretty cool, and I have to say the bed was very comfortable. I surprised my wife by booking her a half day at the spa there since I would be in meetings all day I figured she would appreciate that, which she did very much. The strangest thing though, I really wanted to stay the last night as I would be in meetings until 4-5 pm that evening and check-out was 11:00 am and this was on a Wednesday in November on my actual birthday so we thought it would be nice to have a night alone with no conference obligations in order to have a bit of date night, which we virtually never have, and have a nice quiet birthday celebration and also not have to drive home late at night in in climate weather; however the hotel literally was shutting down, so my wife had to sit in the lobby for almost 6 hours as they would not even allow her to stay in the room, all the restaurants and such were already closed, the best they would offer was to give her a key to the fitness center--we did not bring exercise clothes. I have to say this is the first time this has ever occurred, and I have stayed at many, many, many hotels all over the world. So instead I spent my birthday on a long drive home on a lovely evening driving home on a dark and stormy night without even a birthday dinner, definitely memorable, just not for the right reasons. I never ever received an explanation or anything as to why they were closing, or even an offer to find another local accommodation. Bottom line, the reason I was in a late meeting is I am on the board of directors for our group who stayed at the Resort, and this was not our first time at the Resort, but it will be our last.
