It’s a Vibe

What a beautiful hotel! Exquisite art and Deco, eclectic people, and lovely location downtown. Staff was very accommodating and lovely. As a Marriott gold member they gave me a upgrade without question and there was a huge event going on, so I was really surprised. I know that’s hit or miss however I was very grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to the front desk! The bar scene is cool at night, walkable to a lot of other bars and restaurants and only 25 minutes away from Epcot. If you want to go drinking around the world, of course .. as I don’t take this location as a big family place, definitely more of a night vibe. Only negative experience was valet. I had to wait 45 minutes to get parked which poured out into the main street. Other than that, we’ll definitely come back.

Disappointed

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate her 50th birthday, and our experience started off wonderfully. The front desk associate who checked us in was incredibly kind, informative, and thoughtful. To help celebrate, they sent a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake with a personal card, which meant so much to us. The room was great, and the room service our first night and the following morning was fast, efficient, and high quality. My wife also enjoyed her massage, which was excellent. Unfortunately, things took a turn after that. Right after my wife returned from her massage and was trying to rest and relax in the room, there were protesters directly outside our window chanting, blowing whistles, and using megaphones with profanity. This made it impossible to unwind after what should have been a peaceful, restorative experience. When I contacted the front desk, I was told there was nothing that could be done, and no alternative or gesture was offered, which was disappointing given the purpose of our stay. On the morning of checkout, we decided to order room service one last time to end the trip on a positive note. The order took twice as long as previous deliveries, arrived cold, was missing half of the items, and had no silverware. I tried calling the front desk and guest services for 10–15 minutes with no answer. I eventually had to go to the lobby in person. Even calling from an outside line didn’t work. I was told the missing food and silverware would be sent up, but over an hour passed with no response. A guest liaison texted saying someone was coming to speak with me, but no one showed up for another 30 minutes. Multiple follow-up calls went unanswered. It was an unfortunate and disappointing way to end what was meant to be a very special celebration. While the staff and service at the beginning of our stay were excellent, the lack of responsiveness and follow-through at the end overshadowed the experience. Because of this, I’m not sure I would recommend this hotel in the future.

Guest services did not bring what they promised

Room nice, but I called when I got in the room and asked guest services for a softer pillow. They said they wt bring it, but never did. When I got back to my room at 10:30 last night it was still not there. I needed to use a towel for a pillow as what you had hurt my neck. I will not recommend this facility for future business meetings requiring an overnight stay.

Madison B. at the front desk provided great guest service. She offered ideas for things to do during our stay (Winter Park Park Avenue… lots of fun), helped with restaurant reservations and was overall very accommodating and pleasant!
