Great resort and the food at Hemingway's was excellent. The restaurant recently changed chefs, and I could tell! The flavor of the stuffed mushrooms appetizer was amazing! A+ Eat out on the patio, by the bar!

From check in to check out, the Hyatt Grand Cypress is a winner. Our bellman was attentive, genuine, and really loves his job. The check in process was efficient and friendly. The hotel public spaces are impeccable, open and airy, with so much natural light in the lobby. The room was spotless, great size for a standard room And the bathroom was spacious, modern and well appointed. As for the pool area ... WOW. It's the focal point of this resort and again the facilities were clean and modern. While I did not dine at any of the onsite restaurants, I did order room service and opted for a perfectly cooked filet and asparagus. I can't rave more about this hotel ... It's absolutely perfect.

Just got home and had to submit my review before I forget some of the key points. Pro' far is the loveliness of the grounds! I've been to Hawaii, Mexico, and several other beautiful locations but I can't find a place with more manicured grounds. Rooms are are comfy and now have a fridge. We could see 3 sets of fireworks from our balcony. The cons are mostly one. The price of food and drinks! 2 rum drinks by the pool 40$?! my husband didn't realize they put a 18% tip on every order so on 35$ bill he gave a 5$ tip!just too much. You can beat the system and bring your own can beers or alcohol to your room and go back and fill up.. There is a daily resort fee of 30$ but you do get a lot...water sports-non-motorized, pitch and putt golf, bikes, wifi and more. My final thing is I had arranged for a cab to give us an early morning ride for 45$....he never showed! This was 6am., the conceriage was right there with a car..67$ and a nice ride to the airport...whew!

The rooms are very dated. Sliding door for bathroom retracts to cover the closet. You have to give a shout when leaving the bathroom to make sure no one is at the closet. There's even a caution sign on the door. Poor layout. There are three lagoon type pools that are nice to look at. Only one is heated! The other two were so cold that no one (accept one guy from Vermont) dared to enter the water. Very disappointing. We were there for a convention and had one campstyle cookout for the group. The catering department ran out of hotdogs very early on. Then there were smores for the campfire--with no chocolate! Just a very poorly run operation.

You really would rather stay here and enjoy the amenities rather than go out. We have come here twice already and are planning to stay again next time. Only wish the water would be heated in all the pools.
