Villa Crespi in Orta San Giulio, Italy

In the heart of Italy's Piedmont region, surrounded by rolling parklands adjacent to Lake Orta, Villa Crespi is like a fairytale waiting to happen. It's ornate architecture and meticulously preserved grandeur welcome guests with an authentic European panache, carried through in the villa's 14 suites and rooms - each with its own distinctive historic style. Unlike any hotel you have visited before, Villa Crespi is a truly unique destination, built originally as a home in 1879, and heralded for decades by royalty and world business leaders. Despite its overwhelming magnificence, you will find yourself in complete comfort here, as the accommodations all feature modern amenities such as marble bathrooms, private bars, satellite television, and balconies overlooking the lake or surrounding landscape. Start your stay with an ayurvedic massage, facial cleansing treatment, or chocolate therapy at the villa's well-practiced spa facilities, or relax on a sun bed in the scenic outdoor garden area. At Villa Crespi, life is like a dream.

With Italy being known for its incredible cuisine, it is only fitting that Villa Crespi bring you a Michelin-starred restaurant. Chef Tonino Cannavacciulo crafts innovative Mediterranean cuisine, drawing from regional flavors and incorporating the freshest, finest ingredients into every dish. Both la carte and tasting menu offerings are available, not to mention a broad selection of fine wines from the property's own cellars. Take things further with a hands-on cooking lesson, where two hours in the kitchen are spent learning to create impressive dishes inspired by Chef Cannavacciulo himself. You will take home not only recipes, but a one-of-a-kind experience. When it comes to discovering the surrounding area, you can choose to rent Villa Crespi's Maserati for a trip through the countryside, or venture on your own with the assistance of the villa's expert concierge. The medieval village of Orta and the Island of San Giulio are nearby destinations you should not miss, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sacro Monte is a mere half mile from the villa. From the enchanting lands around it, to every nook and corner within, Villa Crespi is a fantastic time and place.

A small hotel designed in moorish tradition, minaret et el. The hotel is older and decorated as such in dark red patterned wall coverings in the rooms and older furniture. The room are spacious but dark as expected from the decor. The bathroom was large and modern, however, or shower drain was clogged and rapidly over flowed during a shower. On calling the desk, it was rapidly fixed and the drain replaced in less than 30 minutes. The hotel kindly gave us our minibar usage with out cost. The staff was the best: courteous, helpful and friendly, often going out of their way to assist. Overall, an interesting stay

Beautiful building and attentive service. We were advised that since the new season started a month ago every lunch and evening sitting has been full. The restaurant caters for 16 places. We chose the extended tasting menu and the food was perfectly prepared. The amuse bouche and bread were very nice. The first three dishes were fish and most enjoyable . The meat course was pigeon, perfectly prepared but quite strong flavours and a little bit of a challenge for us. The two dessert and fondants were a work of art. This is sophisticated dining and it was a lot of rich food to eat in one session. The chef and staff were great and an enjoyable experience.

Villa Crespi really is a stunning location. The photos seen online do not do this venue enough justice. Everything from the welcome drinks to the massage sessions will leave a lasting smile on your face!

What an incredible hotel this is. The images I have myself put up, and those on the site just don't do it enough justice. It is a beautiful place with stunning walks and surrounding areas with the backdrop of the lake. The staff are warm, welcoming and very helpful. The attention paid to detail is superior, with lovely Clarins cosmetics, welcome drinks, fruit and tea selections, or divine cocktails if that's more your thing. I haven't stayed in a hotel with as many stunning original architectural features combined with modern luxury. You couldn't ask for more. You get all the cable chargers and converters that you would need in your rooms, a fabulous breakfast selection and High quality bedding which is a BIG thing for me. I would highly recommend one of the spa treatments. I had a massage it was amazing, just what I needed after the travel. The therapist uses hand crafted bespoke Ayurvedic oil combinations and is very healing. She combines gongs and really creates a special experience. A definite recommendation. I would return at the drop of a hat for a short break away.

Villa Crespi is Located on a hillside a short walk away from the shores of Lake Orta, close to the medieval village of Orta San Giulio and Sacro Mote di Orta, Unesco World heritage. After the business in Milano, I took train from Milano to Orta-Miasino. I like traveling by train. Italian train is very punctual like Japanese, so I felt comfortable in the train with lunch. I enjoyed wonderful view in the suburbs of Italy for 1h40min. I took the red color train at the station to the hotel. The village looks like Utopia. The best destination to travel for me is Unesco World Heritage with Michelin restaurant and nice hotel. Villa Crespi should be perfect for me to enjoy everything. Resembling a Moorish palace, the building dates from 1879 when cotton merchant, Mr. Crespi, inspired by Baghdad’s architecture, built a private villa on the shores of his native Lake Orta. The villa’s extensive garden with lake views has a relaxation area with sunbeds. During summertime, we can enjoy massage there. Villa has Turkish sauna. I enjoyed Ayurveda massage. Reception is a small desk area in the entrance lobby with wonderful architecture. Staff are welcoming, and good hospitality. The owners Cinzia and Antonino Cannavacciuolo are often in the hotel to welcome guests personally. I met him. (lucky!). The warm, elegant rooms retain their original parquet flooring, and are embellished with rich fabrics and drapes. I enjoyed the beautiful Orta lake and mountains from the windows with his original Spumante " Cannavacciuolo". Very good Spumante!! I drank all with good music and wonderful view and delicious fruit.
