Reviews for Eagles Palace

Beautiful, luxurious resort with amazing, kind and attentive staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

We are just back from our stay at Eagles Palace; we were there the first week of May and it was glorious. The hotel itself is stunning, and the views are mesmerizing. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, the staff took so much care of us. They were warm, friendly and made us feel at home, and that nothing was a problem. Sakis, who runs one of the hotel's fantastic restaurants, looked after us after day, and Yyanis, one of the bartenders, made the most delicious mocktails our 12 year old has ever tasted. They were incredibly kind to us, and there were so many small touches that made the stay feel exceptional. The rooms are impeccably laid out, complete with fluffy towels and bathrobes and slippers and gorgeous soaps and creams. We had a junior suite with a sea view. It was perfect for my husband, daughter and me. The bed was so comfortable, and we had coffee on the balcony every morning. We availed of the half board option, so ate our breakfast and lunch at the buffet restaurant. The food was wonderful and there was a great variety for the three of us. As noted in other reviews, food and drink is on the expensive end outside of the half board, but the atmosphere and setting and fantastic staff make it all feel worth it. The beach is stunning. The water is a bit chilly this time of year but totally swimmable, particularly if you are used to the temperature of the Irish sea! We had so many gorgeous walks around the grounds of the resort, and swam in all of the pools! We'll be back again. It was a completely restorative break.

A Monastery of Rest & Relaxation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

A monastery of rest & relaxation. Well run & administered. Excellent facilities, gym, spa, outdoor pools. Pick for us was the Eagle’s Villa / Cabin nest at the top of the resort, steep hill. Spectacular views and delicious views and espresso martinis. Tip : ask reception for a buggy ride up the hill. Tip : buy or use sea shoes / pebbly beach and stood on Black Sea urchin - thx to the Padi scuba gang on the beach to help extract the spines Tip : go for the all Inclusive package / add on drinks add up €10.50 for glass of wine / €5.50 for sparking water / €15.50 for a martini.

Excellent hotel, breathtaking views and beautiful hospitality BUT CHECK YOUR BILL UPON CHECKOUT. Avoid the minibar!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Beautiful hotel and villas with stunning sunsets, well manicured gardens, amazing scenery with spectacular views. The bathrooms in the main building could do with an upgrade. The villas are brand new so have a different set up. The food can be hit and miss at times. Some evenings, the food is hot, other evenings lukewarm to cold. Some of the desserts are top tier. The children’s menu could be vastly improved. Food nets or covers are recommended to reduce flies and insects landing on food. Expect a family of cats to join you for dinner some evenings. Prices for cocktails start at €15 upwards. Glass of wine ranges from €8.40 to €10.50 upwards depending on who serves you. The beach area - breathtaking views, sun loungers in decent supply with decent headrests. Don’t be an idiot by leaving your towel on the lounger for someone else to collect. Just return it to the towel basket. Hospitality from staff - 99% perfection and great service. Check your bill DAILY - DO NOT USE THE MINIBAR! Do not touch or walk past the minibar. Don’t put drinks in the minibar. Furthermore best to get the items from the minibar removed. You don’t want to be accused of stealing stuff from the minibar upon checkout. Take photos of all receipts to cover your back. Overall a stunning hotel. So remember - do not touch the minibar!

Amazing 5-star resort with the friendliest personal ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Amazing 5-star resort, friendliest personal ever. Breakfast and dinner buffets are great and healthy. The private beach, the amazing pools, fluffiest towels ever. The rooms are big and spacious and very clean. The buffets offer all possibilities, from meat and fish to vegetarian and vegan. The drinks and wine menu offers possibilities for all. The hotel is child-friendly. The views from the hotel are breathtaking.

An absolute rip off

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

I booked Eagles Palace as it seemed like an affordable option for a family room at a beach resort. Other reviewers on here explained how expensive everything there was but I didn’t quite appreciate just how expensive - we felt ripped off at every turn. We are lucky enough not to usually have to worry about looking at prices on menus but even we were shocked at just how much everything cost and by the end I just wished we had booked a more expensive hotel as the cost worked out the same. As an example, my one year old was charged 25 euro for a buffet dinner when he eats the tiniest amount. It cost 50 euros extra for a deep tissue massage than a normal massage which I thought was bizarre and extortionate. Main meals at dinner were easily over 30 euros. Also other reviewers are right that the walls are paper thin - at one point I genuinely thought someone was breaking into our room because I could hear literally everything from next door. I met another family who were leaving earlier because of this.
