Elbow Beach, Bermuda in Paget, Bermuda

Only five minutes from the country capital of Hamilton, 50 lush acres of manicured gardens at Elbow Beach, Bermuda set the scene for this luxurious beach escape. The verdant grounds gently slope down toward a private half-mile stretch of pink sand beach – the longest of any resort in Bermuda – and the turquoise waters beyond. Built in 1908 and recently rejuvenated, the hotel features 98 airy rooms set in the main building and charming low-slung cottages. Each room heralds a contemporary Caribbean vibe with tones reflecting sand and sea. Guests can relax on chaise lounges on the lanai-style patios in the well kitted-out quarters. Among must-have amenities rooms offer high-definition televisions, wireless Internet access, audio systems with iPod docking stations and personal Espresso machines. Separate walk-in rain showers and deep soaking tubs as well as top-tier complimentary toiletries come standard in each of the chic bathrooms.

Although it is tempting to lounge on the picture-perfect beach all day, try some of the numerous on-site activities. The resort has five tennis courts – three of them lit for night play – a massive heated free-form swimming pool, and guests can arrange for Scuba excursion at the beachside PADI-certified dive shop. Ready to relax after adventuring? Schedule some adult-time and drop the young’uns off at the resident Kids Club. Then get pampered at the Asian-inspired spa sanctuary that has six ultra-private spa suites, a foot ritual chair, and outdoor daybeds. Guests may pick from four on-site restaurants. The standout is Lido Restaurant where patrons have gorgeous vistas of the Caribbean Sea while tucking into Pan-Mediterranean cuisine enhanced by tropical influences such as the popular Bouillabaisse Revisited made with shrimp, scallops and little neck clams. For post-prandial drinks, there are several choices: Sip crafty cocktails accompanied by magnificent ocean views at Sea Breeze terrace, settle in a plush leather sofa at Deep Lounge, or mosey on over to the Mickey's Beach Bar to see the sun go down 30 feet from the water’s edge. Less than a three-hour flight from many US East Coast cities, Elbow Beach, Bermuda is the ideal destination for a swift yet relaxing vacation even on a tight schedule.

We did so little because everything we wanted was in the hotel. The best beach ever, the best sand ever. Room was clean and tidy and serviced 2 times a day. The service is great. They gave us a late checkout to 6pm! Many activities over Easter weekend. Making kites and then flying them, easter egg painting and hunt for the kids. Great kids club (although reduced hours during easter weekend) Would love to be able to go back.

My husband, my sons and I visited Elbow Beach for a long weekend over Easter break. The property is breathtaking. From the moment we were greeted by Winton at check in until the moment we were sent on our way home by Webster, we were in paradise. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and go out of their way to give over the top service. The general manager, Ed Burns made it a point to chat with resort guests and offer suggestions of what to do while visiting Bermuda. He is an integral part of why Elbow Beach is such a wonderful place to visit. Our room was spacious and elegant and included a sitting area outside where we could relax and be mesmerized by the ocean. The fitness center has plenty of exercise equipment available and the pool was wonderful. There are 3 dining facilities on the premises, all terrific. Our favorite was the Tapas and Sushi restaurant. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The town of Hamilton is a 20 minute taxi ride away with many restaurants to choose from. I will definitely be visiting Bermuda in the future.

We've been to Elbow Beach before but this time traveling with friends who were looking for a Zika-free resort. What a wonderful trip with our family and friends. It was a quick getaway from New York. Perfect with the kids as they enjoyed the kids club and perfect for us as a couple to just go have a romantic dinner together. Staff amazing. Thank you for being our dream quick getaway. Be Back soon and hopefully bringing our other friends who are looking to have children being they are looking for a Zika - free Island.

The most beautiful water. If you walk down a bit farther, the beach is less crowded and the rock formations are great. The kids were able to play in a little tidal pool and had a blast. Looking forward to going back again.

I loved this hotel (albeit it needs some refreshing up and TLC). You get lots of exercise, fresh air and stunning views simply walking around the property. Our room was clean, well-managed by housekeeping (they were the best) and spacious (four of us stayed together) with an amazing view of the water (Alamanda building). We had a hammock right off our patio which was way cool and yet another opportunity to truly relax and vacation the right way. The main building with the lobby needs a little freshening up but it has such a rich history and the most pleasant staff going. Really warm and lovely people work at the Elbow Beach Resort. The main building and hotel rooms will be amazing once they renovate but I hear the rooms have been closed for many years (they missed a great opportunity to fill rooms with the America's Cup in town). The spa smelled scrumptious walking in and appeared to be clean - I didn't have the chance to partake in a message or facial (next time). The gym was small but had great ocean views and well stocked with water, trail mix and towels. The restaurants were comfortable, had great views and the food was delicious. My morning breakfast was so good that I had it for the next four days in a row. Thankfully I was on the breakfast package or else it would have cost a small fortune. That's the only negative about the restaurants - really expensive but it's an island. I can say I've been to other islands (Hawaii and Caribbean) where the food was just as expensive but not half as tasty. The service is a little bumpy (lots of people coming up to table) but it was the start of the season so they were probably just warming up. We never felt neglected which is a good thing. Overall I loved this hotel. Again, it could use a little extra attention and some paint on the main building but I really have nothing bad to say. Oh yeah, the beach is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL while the water wasn't warm it was swimmable and lovely just to hang out in. The pool was warm enough and long enough for some good lap swimming. On another note, I'd LOVE to see the hotel renovate and add a BIG YOGA STUDIO and begin to offer yoga retreats - they could build the studio with a view of the ocean. They definitely have the space, the views, the vibe and would fill rooms with lovely yogis. Since it's a short trip from NY, Boston, DC, etc. with the right yoga teacher they would fill lots of rooms.
