A Great Choice for Our Stay In Aruba

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Spent 3 nights at the Hilton Aruba. Employees were courteous and helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. A map of the resort is included with this review for your reference. The resort is conveniently located near many restaurants, bars, and souvenior shops all within a short walking distance at the Palm Beach Village across the street from the hotel. We (diamond) received a welcome goody bag of sunblock, lotions, and lip balm upon check-in. Full breakfast buffets for 2 guests each day, 2 bottles of water per day, and 2 drink coupons redeemable at the Castaways Bar were also included. However a room upgrade was not available. Our room was on a higher floor in the Curacao Tower (see map). Odd number rooms in this building face the garden with only a very limited view of the ocean from the balcony. The full breakfast buffet at the Laguna offered a wide variety of good quality / fresh items. It was kind of cool watching the same bird showing up every morning trying to catch his own (fish) breakfast from the hotel's pond while enjoying our own buffet breakfast. We also found it relaxing to hang out at the Castaways Bar in the late afternoon / early evening hours. A live DJ was present in one afternoon and we tipped him to play "Kokomo by the Beach Boys" for us to do a fun sing-along : ) That said, the place was fairly empty when we were there so it might be too quiet for those who prefer crowds and a more lively ambience. The main lobby and the Aruba Tower are closed for renovation but south pool is open. A new tower is also under construction which will include swim-up rooms right by the south pool. We did not notice any construction noise during our stay since we were out and about most of the time. The beach area was very nice and was not crowded with plenty of open lounge chairs. We had a rental car and never had any problem finding a spot in the front parking lot which was only a short ~1 minute walk to the Curacao Tower lobby. Parking is free for hotel guests. A thumbs up vote will be very much appreciated if you find this review helpful.

Enjoyable stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Enjoyed our stay. The positives - the grounds and room is very well maintained. The beach is fantastic and I would say amongst the best in Aruba. The location is excellent opposite an area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Most of the staff also excellent, especially in the main restaurant! The casino is a very good size and good fun. The negatives - there is construction taking place so during our stay you could hear the noise and the main lobby area was closed. They do however manage this well. The walls are thin in the bedrooms so can hear your neighbours. Nowhere in the resort to enjoy drinks in the evening (maybe due to construction) there was the pool bar but no one was there. Overall I would go back but after the construction is finished. The price should have been reduced during this time due to lost areas of hotel.

Average!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Just an average stay. Only one restaurant open for dining and the staff there (especially at breakfast) were not friendly. The front staff at check-in (Rai) was very nice and welcoming. They are in the process of updating and I’m sure this place will be wonderful once they are complete .

Okay but expensive not worth it hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Wait time for literally anything is 1 hour… otherwise WiFi was okay. Beds comfortable. But it is NOT worth the money at all, I paid 6 grand for a shareable beach, and an okay non inclusive hotel. 1.5 grand per person. But otherwise, activities good, beach good, their restaurant is expensive!

Tropical Paradise in Aruba

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The 2 flights & 12 hours of travel from the UK were all worth it once we arrived at the Hilton. The first thing I like to do is unpack the suitcases when we get to the room but unfortunately (even though we had booked) the hotel did not have the same room for us for the 4 night stay, we were upgraded to a bigger room for the 1st night. We did get compensated with vouchers for breakfast which made up for the inconvenience. I loved the flow of the hotel, the staff were really friendly & the outside is truly tropical. One of my pet hates on holiday is having to get up early to bag a sunbed so I loved the fact you can book a bed at 12:30pm the day before. I liked the breakfast, my only feedback would be that they needed more flavours of yogurt. We have 2 teenage boys who don’t like to share a bed so they put an extra blow up bed in our room. The hotel is in a great position for the local bars & restaurants. Coming from a very fast paced environment in the Uk, it took a while to get used to the slower pace of island life. 🏝️ Luckily, even though we were close to it, we did not hear any construction noise. I would love to stay here again.
