Reviews for Hotel Riu Palace Antillas

By far the worst

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I want to preface this review by saying that I am well traveled when it comes to tropical destinations. So white sand and blue water aren’t enough to bypass what seems to be a cultural issue in Aruba. On arrival I thought maybe the rudeness, passive racist, and entitled nature of the airport staff was just limited to them. It was a surprise when we arrived at the RIU Palace Antilles to see this same attitude! I am someone who observes and gives everyone the benefit of doubt before forming an opinion especially when it concerns race! This isn’t a country that you would think has the typical racial elements of white vs black. In this case I could see the blatant difference in treatment and prioritizing of white guests over black guests. It was astonishing to see third world workers at a resort be snobby as if they felt a level of hierchy lol. These people who depend on tourist to literally live! Nonetheless I decided to make the best of it and ignore ignorance! The food was trash as were the drinks. We had to leave an all inclusive resort just to get decent food and drinks. My wife is a vegetarian so if you are vegan or vegetarian you won’t have many options at all outside of fruit and the same romaine lettuce and salad components smh. I think we would be able to stomach some of the shortcomings with the food if the property was up to date. They have an eye soar of construction going on next door and the rooms aren’t cleaned well. Housekeeping request are terrible. You literally have to request a blanket for your bed and even though our stay was 4 days they didn’t even have the common sense to have more than 2 bath towels and wash cloths. We had to call multiple times and wait sometimes hours to get toilet paper and extra towels. This by far was the worst experience. Pools and restaurants are crowded so good luck getting reservations at a decent time. They don’t even have a system in place for day passes for friends who may want to stay the day on a Friday. Yes a Friday lol! I don’t even write reviews and just wanted people who look like me to not even give this racist, unprofessional, entitled, and disgusting piece of island and its properties your hard earned money. This trip was booked before I looked at reviews so you will see similar sentiments about this property and island! There is a serious culture issue on this island and specifically this property. I’ll honestly say everyone I come in contact with I will tell them to think twice about Aruba but certainly never to stay at this resort.

Great vacation

We've been to the RIU Palace Antillas four times in the last seven years and each time was great!!! The service is always outstanding and you are always made to feel special. The hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The Hotel was recently renovated. The weather is always perfect and the location is excellent, which is in Palm Beach close to shopping and dining!! The beach and water is excellent. It is an adults only hotel which is next door to the RIU Palace Aruba, that accommodates adults and families.
