The Breakers Palm Beach

The Breakers is absolutely beautiful. The property, service, grounds, and overall atmosphere are everything you would expect from a luxury Palm Beach hotel. My only real complaint is the cost of food and drinks. I understand The Breakers caters to an affluent clientele and I fully expected to pay a premium, but some of the pricing feels borderline predatory. There’s a difference between luxury pricing and charging around $75 for two drinks. Even people who can afford it don’t want to feel like they’re being taken advantage of. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel itself is incredible. I just think the food and beverage pricing has crossed the line from expensive to excessive.

We like to visit the Breakers for a drink or appetizer occasionally. I used to perform there for the Hoy Paloy. No more. The message as you drive over the bridge to Palm Beach Island is "We don't want you here; it's for us" They are pricing us out for sure. I mean c'mon, $43 for a martini, $86 for two, so with tax and tip it comes to $110 for 2 drinks. LoL Of course the drinks, service and atmosphere were all so excellent.

A luxury hotel, without a doubt. The reviews already speak for themselves. What I love about this hotel are the details and the food. As a woman, I'm fascinated that the bathroom has EVERYTHING. They don't skimp on amenities, as a true luxury hotel should. Every time I go, this makes packing much easier. I know there are things I don't have to pack because they offer them to me complimentaryly. That's great and a reason to choose it. We've been choosing it for 3 years and we'll choose it again next year. What I can say as a less positive point is that if you like the beach, it's not the best place. The beach is very small and the sea can even rise and make it disappear. In addition, they put up ropes so you don't swim too far out, but these ropes are very close to the shore, so you can't really enjoy the sea.

My husband has always dreamed about coming to this hotel. It is historic and the architecture is stunning. The new hotel lobby bar is full of palm beach whimsy. Like a muted Alice and wonderland theme. It might be my favorite part of the hotel. We had an ocean view room that was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. We stopped the turn down service because the staff kept moving my items. Example put my curling iron with their dryer in a drawer. They also took the courtesy quick dry hair towel and did not replace it. The restaurant and bar staff do not warn you that there is already a 20 percent gratuity added. That irks me. If you warn me, I'll tip you more. We got a pool side cabana. It was very cute but smelled like mildew. That was disappointing. Another review states that the hotel was too large to be a true 5 star, and I agree. While the staff was nice enough, they didn't go out of their way to be helpful. We also went during off season so it wasn't like they were too busy to provide extra attention. The beach is not your typical Florida beach. It was small, rocky and had black seaweed . It was pretty in its own right, but don't expect the soft white sandy beach. There were a lot of conferences here. Many middle aged men in blue blazers. I'm not sure if this is the hotel for a romantic get away. Very low energy. Overall - we are glad that we came, but there is nothing special enough for us to want to come back.

Wow this hotel is so picturesque. Located right on the ocean edge. The rooms were large and the housekeeping staff were excellent. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. All the staff at the hotel were top notch. The valet staff was very rapid and very professional. I just can’t say enough good things about The Breakers
