My family of three stayed here during the annual NSSGA meeting. We arrived early and our room was not ready. We had lunch at one of the restaurants. Beautiful area. The many pools, landscaping, and service was top notch. After we had our lunch, it was getting to the point where we needed to get our belongings to get dressed for our conference. We had to go to bellhop service and ask for our things to be brought up. That is the only hiccup we had. Service was impeccable. The rooms were spacious and the closet and bath were huge. Did I mention the TV in the mirror of the bathroom! My son enjoyed the work out area, again huge. You could climb the steps or take the elevator. Awesome view at the top. They were putting more boulders in the ocean, so equipment was working, but didn't bother us. At night the tree along the drive are lit and so is the massive fountain. We have traveled to all fifty states, and never experienced a resort as grand as The Breakers. Loved it so much. Would definitely go back.

This visit was our 3rd, and was the best one so far! We loved the addition of the Maybachs and friendly drivers to drop us off and pick us up for shopping and dinners! We were upgraded to an oceanfront room with a terrace, which greatly added to the enjoyment of my birthday trip! We were surprised with a welcome gift bag of snacks! The room was well appointed, the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was a great size! Loved the extra touches - a bedside jewelry box to store your jewelry, delicious large chocolate bars at turn down, screen wipes and branded cord gatherers, complimentary waters and sparkling waters in the mini fridge, and a personal hair towel! The sea glass line of bath products is so addictive I bought large bottles of each in the gift shop! We enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails at HMF or Seafood Bar, and the fabulous complimentary breakfast buffet each morning with delicious yogurt, fresh berries, frittata of the day, breakfast potatoes, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and made to order omelets and Belgian waffles! Wonderful lunch at Seafood Bar (the truffle grilled cheese with truffle fries was heavenly!) The Italian restaurant is more geared for families with young kids, but they did have a delicious spritz! The sun finally came out for the 4th, so we had a lovely tine at the adults only pool, with frozen adult beverages delivered, and took a short walk on the beach. Sadly, there was construction going on that kept us from walking down to the clock tower. Fabulously festive 4th of July activities, with seating to watch the fireworks after dark! Well done Breakers, Frank Keenan would be pleased!

The hotel delivers a true five-star experience in many ways. The breakfast spread is fantastic, the service across most areas is top-notch, and it’s the small thoughtful touches that really elevate the overall experience. That said, there are a few areas that fell a bit short. The food outside of breakfast was underwhelming, especially considering the price point. My check-in experience also wasn’t what I’d expect from a five-star property—the staff member assisting me didn’t seem particularly engaged or welcoming. I won’t call anyone out by name, but first impressions matter, and this one didn’t set the tone I was hoping for. Lastly, there was ongoing construction during my stay that hadn’t been disclosed in advance. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s something guests should be aware of before booking. Overall, I’d still recommend the hotel and will be returning.

Make sure there are no events scheduled during your visit. They handle that poorly. Multiple noisy construction sites, limited access. Poor management of client disputes. A reservation to attend the SESPRES meeting this June was scrambled: the meeting code was not processed and registered with other mistakes (handicap requirements, etc…). Arguably, reservation could well be wrongly processed on my end. However, upon checking in and informing my attendance to the event, nothing was mentioned on applying a high fee for a room facing a patio under heavy construction (yet described as a partial sea view) and a breakfast included that was already covered by my event registration fees (paid 2 breakfasts). All requests to consider application of the event fee (personal and those from the event secretariat) were refused, although no extra services were provided by the premises that could justify the difference in cost. A 200 attendees meeting scheduled a year ago faced a long waiting check in-line that preceded a sulky attendant who paid no attention to detail, thus further compromising attempts at resolving room fees dispute. When a comment to a supervisor was made about the personnel indifference, her excuse was that indeed person were stressed out by a busy check in day prior to the event. If that was not enough, pools were crowded on those days, as expected, yet no effort was made to improve water filtration system so that by midday, cloudy waters invited guests to migrate to the beach where the ocean views were decorated with cranes and heavy trucks and sea wave sounds orchestrated with regular rumble of a nearby quay construction. I dare to submit the conclusion that the breakers an exclusive resort, yet not one that would maintain their high standards during a relatively large gathering. On a personal basis, the resort's administration lacked of any and all abilities to manage even the most cordially submitted dispute. When costly high standards are not delivered, your service turns into a decadent scam.

Obviously, a lovely historic building, the location is stunning. That being said, be ready to pay $50 for a cheeseburger and 20 bucks for a beer. The room was disappointing very small and not very impressive accommodations. But the daily turned down service and attention to detail from staff was noticeable, I think there really is only so much you can do with a building of that age. The beaches are nice, but nothing to write home about, several pools and never any issues finding seating. We played the course as well, short but well manicured. Walking distance into town was nice. The vibes at night in the restaurants and bars were fantastic, very much a sophisticated luxury adults style get away.
