Though quite honestly I have not been able to actually stay there I do make it a point of visiting this beautiful hotel when I'm in the Palm Beach area. I enjoy walking through the ornate lobby and peering in to some of the beautifully decorated meeting rooms. There's a wall with old pictures depicting the early years of Palm Beach and the history of the Breakers itself, and it's interesting to see how instrumental Henry Flagler was to opening up the Sunshine State to tourism. It was he who originally had the Breakers property developed and it was he who extended the railroad as far as Palm Beach,Miami and eventually Key West. I strongly suggest visiting Whitehall his home in Palm Beach,it's just minutes away from the Breakers. If your time is limited just driving in to the hotel's main entrance and seeing its' imposing facade is worth it!

Stayed here for a girls trip four days and three nights during the last weekend of April. The resort is absolutely stunning. The lobby is the epitome of luxury: intricately detailed, arched ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, perfectly arranged floral arrangements and pristine wall to wall carpeting. The bell staff is friendly and eager to help. The front desk staff is efficient and dressed to perfection. The cleaning staff was wonderful. They were all very friendly, and we were never wanting. Our double room was great, but far from the best I have ever stayed in. The beds are comfortable, but the room was humid each night, even though we had the stat turned down. We both wished that there would have been an exhaust fan in the bathroom, both for privacy you and dehumidification purposes. I understand it is an old hotel, so perhaps this is something to consider if they ever do another renovation. The glass doors on the bathrooms, although architecturally beautiful, were not practical at all when trying to share a room with someone. With the lack of exhaust fan and the glass door, my roommate and I both felt like we were on display in the bathroom. The shower pressure was great, but I was not a fan of the Kohler shower head; a luxury hotel should be able to do better. Where this resort is seriously lacking is the food/ beverage service. While we did have one amazing gal wait on us poolside a few times, the rest of the experience was just so so. Even when we rented a Cabana assuming we would receive better service that way, it took over an hour for someone to even ask if we needed drinks. The service in the main bar HMF area was slow as well. It took about ten minutes for someone to even come over to our table, and then another twenty to deliver us our drinks. Having worked in the food industry at various Four Diamond AAA restaurants when I was younger, I always expect resorts such as the Breakers to be over-the-top attentive with their food/ beverage service and when they are not it is a huge disappointment. It was not all a disappointment though, as I really enjoyed the convenient shops on the first floor, and the coffee shop News and Gourmet. The food as whole, at the three restaurants we tried, was also fantastic. One last note I would like to make is that, although this resort is on the beach, I would not consider it a beach resort. There was hardly anyone on the beach when we were there, and no one was in the water. A few friends of my friends and I went in the waves one day, and the undertow is extremely strong. I would never bring my own four kids to this beach because I would be worried about them going in the water. The beach is nice for walking.

I've stayed at the Beakers many times over many years and it keeps improving. While it has only been six months since my last visit, new improvements and updates were evident -- new cushions on the verandas, umbrellas pool side and the Seafood Bar. The Seafood Bar is spectacular. The Breakers is expensive and not a destination for individuals on a budget. When a resort is so close to perfection, it is difficult to be critical. Yet, every time I used a towel I groused. The quality isn't up to standard and I certainly wouldn't have them in my home. Why? thin, small and not fluffy white. As a repeat guest I am not offered an upgrade or an amenity. It is a mistake not to recognize loyalty. Wonder why? But I will return -- soon.

Great mini breakfast bar, snacks and drinks throughout the day, very nice cocktails in early afternoon, beautiful patio that overlooks golf course on the sixth floor. Our room overlooked the ocean, but our "patio" turned out to be a window with iron bars in front. This was the only disappointment as the hotel lived up to its luxurious reputation as a place of beauty and elegance.
