The Breakers Palm Beach

Superior hotel almost like visiting a museum. Impeccable atmosphere and helpful staff.

The is a great property with great service. The food and service at the Seafood Bar, the Beach Club and the pool are fantastic. I would avoid the Lobby Bar as they tend to play pricing games to run up the bill without telling you up front.

The Breakers in Palm Beach has been a luxurious resort hotel since business tycoon Henry Flagler, who was credited with developing the East Coast of Florida, opened the first Breakers resort during the 1895-86 winter season. After the first two hotels burned down in 1903 and 1925, the current Renaissance Revival style luxury hotel with 534 rooms, 140 acres of grounds and more than 2,300 employees opened in 1926. It has been a AAA Five-Diamond rated resort for 30 years in a row and ranked among the Best Hotels in the USA by U.S. News & World Report. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Located at 1 South County Road, on the Atlantic Ocean, it features a half-mile of private beach, 10 restaurants, 13 boutiques, four oceanfront pools, 6 hot tubs, 16 tennis courts, two golf courses, pickleball courts, a spa, paddle courts and private fitness and wellness centers. For lunch at Henry's, the chicken pot pie and the butter crumb Dover Sole are highly recommended.

The Breakers is absolutely beautiful. The property, service, grounds, and overall atmosphere are everything you would expect from a luxury Palm Beach hotel. My only real complaint is the cost of food and drinks. I understand The Breakers caters to an affluent clientele and I fully expected to pay a premium, but some of the pricing feels borderline predatory. There’s a difference between luxury pricing and charging around $75 for two drinks. Even people who can afford it don’t want to feel like they’re being taken advantage of. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel itself is incredible. I just think the food and beverage pricing has crossed the line from expensive to excessive.

We like to visit the Breakers for a drink or appetizer occasionally. I used to perform there for the Hoy Paloy. No more. The message as you drive over the bridge to Palm Beach Island is "We don't want you here; it's for us" They are pricing us out for sure. I mean c'mon, $43 for a martini, $86 for two, so with tax and tip it comes to $110 for 2 drinks. LoL Of course the drinks, service and atmosphere were all so excellent.
