I live nearby and have often stayed at the Breakers Hotel for weekends. I started coming here in March for their afternoon tea which the Breakers no longer serves. It was while having tea that I got to know the hotel and was so happy to hear that they are pet friendly, allow dogs and have special services including dog treats and a pet menu for dining. I have stayed here four times since March and have tried the Superior Queen, Junior Suite, Executive Suite, and for Memorial Day Weekend I will be going into a Deluxe King. All the rooms are very charming. It really is a meeting of English Country and Palm Beach flair. I love all the rooms as they are beautifully decorated and arranged for maximum space. They have all been redone recently, and the bathrooms, although small by today's standards are absolutely gorgeous. Clean, white, bright marble with every amenity you could possibly want. This is an old hotel but they have done a brilliant job of maximizing every bit of it for comfort and beauty. All the public rooms are also charming, cozy and very well done. I love walking into the lobby and seeing the beautiful, shiny marble floors and gorgeous flower arrangements. They have a wonderful library to hide away in and the most perfect pool area. The pool has lounge chairs for lounging and bistro tables for dining. You can order meals and cocktails and really settle in for a day of relaxing. They always have ice cold lemon water, lemonade, tea and fresh fruit set out for guests. They don't have someone outside hovering over you because the place is so small but if you call them on the house phone they will be there immediately. I have sat many an afternoon poolside, lunching, playing backgammon, reading and being lazy. The location is right in the center of town and an easy walk (two blocks) to Worth Avenue and a number of the better restaurants nearby. You can park your car and leave it and walk to shopping, restaurants, the beach, and the town docks to see the boats. The hotel is right in the middle of the most charming neighborhood and you can walk for blocks and blocks exploring homes, gardens, etc. There is an excellent restaurant on property and I have stayed whole weekends and had all my meals at the hotel and not gone any where else (I have written a separate review for their restaurant, the Leopard Lounge). Add to that their nightly entertainment and you really have the whole package right there on the property What I love most is that this is a boutique hotel. It is the size, the intimacy and the service. You cannot get this in the large five star hotels anymore. This place really feels like a large private home and the staff is exceptional. ALL of them! From the front desk, to the concierge, to the restaurant manager and servers, to housekeeping. They know how to do it right. They all seem to really get a thrill out of running this hotel perfectly and the enthusiasm is catching. You will feel very special staying here. I know that I do and that is why I have booked many future weekends here as this is my new weekend home. I just want to add that some complain about the Superior Queen rooms being small. They are not as small as found in a lot of European hotels and I love the coziness of these beautiful rooms and would not hesitate to stay in one again if not for my large dog and crate that takes up a lot of space. Nowhere on the island will you find rooms with a better value. And nowhere on the island will you find a better location. You really want to stay in town to get out during the day or evening and walk to everything and be a part of the scene. If you prefer the feel of a private home and want to stay in the middle of it all, then this is it!

First time at the Chesterfield, and not the last! Small but elegant, most especially the staff. Couldn't do enough for us! The bar/restaurant fantastic, nightly piano player. Great location, about 2 blocks from Worth Avenue and many restaurants.

My room overlooked the pool from the third floor but was right across from the elevator. It wasn't thankfully too noisy but I would steer away from any hotel room by elevator. Rooms are small but cozy and well decorated. No complaints as I didn't spend much time in my room as was poolside or roaming Worth Avenue! Fantastic location to all the hot spots!

I came down this weekend for my bachelorette with 12 girls (I am 35) and I was blown away by how great this hotel is. It's small and boutiquey and the service surpassed all my expectations. Our room was larger than I imagined, clean and had two bathrooms. We ate breakfast at the pool each morning which was truly delicious with an extensive menu. The pool was always quiet and never full. The staff are friendly and attentive. This place is old school, it's not a cookie cutter chain and it shows in all the best ways. The Leopard Lounge is the best people watching in town with wonderful live music. Plus, the price for rooms was bizarrely nice. I will definitely be back. What a wonderful weekend.

The place is adorable, the restaurants are terrific and the service is excellent. Location is also central and very close to restaurants and shopping on Worth Avenue. Valet is complimentary. Perfect stop for three nights!
