We made the mistake of reserving a table for high tea, What an appalling experience. The hotel claims it offers top quality but reality tells a very different story. Our party have enjoyed high teas in England (London, Cornwall, Sussex) and Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Victoria) -- all of them "a feast of traditional English treats," as described by the Chesterfield. The Chesterfield's "feast" was a pittance. One finger sandwich per person of the four featured fillings. See the photo below of the meager selection for three people. That plus a "gluten-free" plate for the fourth member of our party which offered even less, two pots of tea (one of us stuck to water, the other preferred iced tea) plus three $8.00 flutes of sparkling wine. Our bill was $206.25. Oh I've forgotten the "steaming freshly baked scones," which may have been hot some time before they were served (accompanied by cream and "lavish strawberry preserve" which had been sitting outdoors on our table even before we sat down) and an extra four fingers of egg salad which may have been added to the bill as "Tea $4.00" or was that the iced tea which replaced two pots? The service was bumbling including spilled tea and the ambiance was far inferior to any we've experienced before. We were the only tea guests -- others were eating fries and less "traditional English treats." Despite all of the above, the Chesterfield's biggest crime was sickening the gluten challenged guest in our party. Before booking I had quizzed the hotel's representative about precautions to protect vulnerable guests. I was told that there were strict protocols to provide only gluten-free food and to ensure there was no cross-contamination. In fact, the bread at least looked no different from the regular fare. I don't know about everything else but my wife suffered her worst gluten attack in many months and it ruined most of the rest of a special family weekend. What an expensive nightmare. My advice is to avoid the Chesterfield like the plague -- there must be superior venues in the Palm Beach area.

Stayed during the Thanksgiving week. Lovely traditional boutique hotel a stones throw from Worth Avenue. Tucked into a little neighborhood, this quaint enclave of a hotel continues to please. Public spaces are beautifully appointed in traditional English fabrics and furniture. The Leopard Lounge and dining room are dark and cozy with a lively bar and live music at night. The food here is wonderful and served by a staff that strives to please. The courtyard area is lovely for breakfast or alfresco dining. Rooms are traditionally appointed as well with "old" style feel and fabrics. Tropical touches and white finishes. We had a lovely Jr. Suite (#202) overlooking the small but tranquil pool area. Baths have been renovated to modern standards and beds are extremely comfortable. Minor criticism was the humidity level. The AC seemed to be struggling and took time to cool completely. The staff here really makes the experience and they were able to cater to our needs (a 50-something couple), families with teens and small children, older couples (70-somethings) and the local who comes as well. Overall I would recommend as a nice getaway with a personal touch.

We enjoyed one of the most delightful, memorable and wonderful Wedding Anniversaries at the Chesterfield Hotel just recently. Every single staff member met by my wife Judy and myself truly made the Hotel's reputation shine and excel in a consistent fashion. From the over-the-phone initial reservation arrangements conversation with Margarita, the sincere welcoming introduction and rest-of-the-stay advice by Matthew, the classic and plush accommodations, the stylish and royalty-like area decorations, the always-on-time-room service, the Leopard's Lounge waitressing, appealing presentation and freshest, exquisite delectation of the meals, to the delight of just being there flavoring delicious cookies or jelly beans, this relatively small Hotel more than surpassed our unimaginable expectations. One unusual event that we want to share is the singular and graceful intervention by the maître d’ David to allow us to have Room Service for a four-course meal, wine included, and for which we feel indebted to him, recognizing the significant amount of resources involved during his evening busiest time. Our uncertainty of where to spend our next Wedding Anniversary was certainly amended to an after-the-fact already made commitment of having reservations made at the Chesterfield Hotel next year. Through this means we want to thank all involved staff members of the Hotel for such an indelible and pleasurable sojourn. Dr. Frank & Judy.

The Chesterfield has a wonderful, old-fashioned feel, from its architecture, to its decor in every room. It also has a great location, only a few blocks away from Worth Avenue, so it is easy to walk to on a daily basis. What really impressed us was how personable the staff was, they were genuinely friendly and accommodating. Our favorite staff members include Tatsiana, Juan, and Carl. Carl had suggested several places to visit during our stay, as well as providing directions. It wasn't until he gave us his card that we realized he was the restaurant manager of the adjoining Leopard Lounge! Like all the staff members, he truly went above and beyond his duties to ensure we had the best trip possible. Thank you to all the Chesterfield staff! We will be seeing you again!

My daughter and I️ wanted a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of Miami. We decided to pick the Chesterfield Hotel and were charmed by the incredible staff from the moment we were greeted by Matthew who genuinely wanted to make our mother daughter weekend extra special. Even though we had booked a standard room he wanted to make sure that we felt special during our mother daughter weekend. He went out of his way to make sure we had a pool view and helped us reserve High Tea in the library. Our high tea was spectacular do to the impeccable service from Jean, our server. He took the time to explain to us the different services and traditions associated with high tea. The continental breakfast was included with our standard room price and exceeded our expectations from the service provided by our server, Paul. From the homemade bread‘s to the European style breakfast the extensive spread was abundant. Carl, the restaurant manager, made sure that we were satisfied with the food as well as our room. I️ am looking forward to my return to the Chesterfield again and highly recommend you check out this white glove service yourself!
