The hotel is located next door to the Four Seasons on a beautiful stretch on beach. The rooms were bleak -- black mottled ceramic tiling, black shutters, black furniture. The decor belied the happy sunny gorgeousness of the location. And on top of that, if one is going to decorate in black, everything, and I mean everything, must be in tip top shape or the glass rings on the tables, the chips on the furniture etc etc stick out like sore thumbs. Worst of all: the lighting! The cheapest kind of LED and neon blue-y harsh bulbs and so many little electronic (also BLUE) lights in the night, we used every available washcloth to cover them up so we could sleep. The restaurant on the beach was a great spot for morning breakfast.

I have gone here several times and must say I truly enjoy the spa day there. Pool during the week is quiet and food/bar/towel service is great. I get deep tissue massages regularly and Carla did an excellent job. We stayed for a delicious lunch (highly recommend burger and crab/avocado salad) beachfront at one of the bed/cabanas. Great service again and enjoyable time just relaxing at the beach under the umbrella in the afternoon.

Stayed for my sons wedding, great location and sea views. Reception room was excellent and food good. But impressions count - ceremony was held outside under gazebo. The chairs and decoration were nicely laid out. However I had to remove a used spoon and half a rotten orange from the centre of the floor. If I can see it so should staff

Stayed here during a trip to meet family in PB. My daughter dropped off a bag of things for me to bring home as I was driving and she was flying home to NY and could not take it with her. She checked it in with the bellman and the next morning when I departed they were unable to locate. I left my number for them to call when they found it but nobody called. I let it go for a few days and called back, they had located the bag and I then gave my address and a credit card to have the bag shipped. nothing ever shipped. Long story short, it has taken me 3 calls, my son 2 and my daughter 6 calls, 3 which went unreturned. we have all given credit card #'s to the person who answered and NEVER received either tracking or a call back. My daughter even offered to email a return label but no reply to her call. save yourself the aggravation the rooms are only OK, there were a few nice people at the desk but the food, etc was only mediocre. a far cry from the usual standards of Kimpton, I suppose that is why the chain dumped this property.

The Spa: BEST MASSAGE EVER! We booked massages on the first day and were randomly (and luckily) assigned Carla and Gio. After that first massage we just had to book another with them. The second was better than the first! I'm looking forward to my next one and would travel just for another from Carla. The Hotel: If you like being left alone, stay here during the week. If you want someone waiting on you, stay here during the weekend. We stayed Tues - Fri night and the service went from scarce on T,W & Th to normal on Friday. We like being left alone, so the absence of service on the beach, by the pool and even at the restaurant was fine. There were a couple of times, however, that we thought the staff went home and we were the only ones in the hotel. A testament to the absence of service and management thereof - I, not the staff, had to turn on the outside lights so we could see our dessert and cordials while dining in one of the two gazebos/cabanas on the outside deck. Considering the price of drinks you would think that they would be all over the beach, pool and restaurant deck pushing the cocktail sales to anyone and everyone. The price of the drinks and the inability to easily get them led us on a walking expedition out of the hotel - something we didn't plan on doing. We were pleasantly surprised to find a great little wine store (Vin Outlet) just steps from the hotel. They had some great wines at a reasonable price and a mini Boars Head selection of chesses and meats ... perfect for a hotel room balcony sunset! BTW - If your room doesn't have a refrigerator, ask for one and they will quickly deliver a mini. There are other great finds (food & drink) very close to the hotel that you will not be led to by the staff. Typical of boutique hotels, Tideline is absent flyers, displays and other information about the surrounding area. You need to look it up, or go exploring. Our room (an ocean view with veranda) was out of this world! Other than a mattress that was too firm, we have no complaints. Room, bathroom and balcony were terrific! The view, the view, the view - wow, wow wow! We slept with the shutter door closed and the sliding glass door open so we could hear the ocean. We would open the slats on the shutter doors enough to see the ocean from the bed. Yes - we watched and listed to the waves crashing from our bed. Overall - Tideline is in a great location, is a beautiful facility with great rooms and needs more consistent service and oversight of the service. The talent in the spa (specifically Carla & Gio), in our eyes, brought the entire hotel from "nice" to "we must come back".
