Good option for weekend getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

Overall, 80% was a great experience. Plenty of pool and food options, grounds were kept beautifully, loved the offerings for the kids, the room was spacious and had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly. The check in and out process was very disappointing. We checked in at the front desk at 2:00, knowing our room probably wouldn’t be ready. We enjoyed touring the grounds but when 4:00pm came, our room still wasn’t ready. In fact, there was a lobby full of people that weren’t happy. When we finally got to our room around 5, we couldn’t even see the ocean. Just a parking lot and a palm tree. After going back to the front desk, we finally were granted another room where we could see the ocean. Very disappointed that we spent too much time on this hassle, not to mention that we were told that the check in process started at 4, but that didn’t guarantee that the room would be ready…I have NEVER in my life have heard such a thing! In fact, it’s truly unfair as the hotel expects us to be out of our room promptly at 11…does that mean I can start packing up at 11 and then leave around 12?…of course not! Having said that, even with our sign on our door to not disturb, housekeeping knocked at 10am and opened the door to find me in my pjs! We weren’t going to be rushed out, however, when we opened our door 30 min later, they were standing outside of it waiting…so awkward! Ironically, they were eager to clean our room early but I guess this wasn’t the case on checkin day! The only other thing to add was that the pools were quite crowded with chairs being reserved with towels but no people. Can’t really help that though. The heated pools options were great during this time of year.

Poor quality rooms, renovated rooms are still outdated, poor condition

The pools and beach give it a solid 4 stars

Great resort waterpark. The landscaping is on point. The condos are what you would expect. They could really use a MacDaddy fish tank in the lobby or something. The restaurants are meh so plan to just cook for yourself in your condo unless you’re a terrible cook. Overall is great for families with kids that are tall enough to ride the waterslide as it is a great waterslide and the beach is beautiful.

Very dissapointing. Do not go!

The purpose of the trip was to celebrate a birthday. What we got in return was a very disappointing experience. First be advised - this is NOT a place for couples. This is a family oriented resort. Even in areas designated for adults, children of all ages will be running around and yelling. Upon arrival the hotel computers were down and the place was chaotic and the concierge staff were miserable. The whole resort was tied into the computer system so even if you wanted to buy a bottle of water it was back to the old school way of filling out forms. This is also not a hotel per say as 300 of the 700 units are rented out while the others are for residents. Our room smelled of mildew, the toilet made a loud noise for minutes with every flush and the air handler was 5 feet from the bed preventing you from getting any rest due to the noise. The room we rented was the King Ocean Suite. The cleanliness of room was fair at best and we dared not walk barefoot on the carpet. The room needs renovation and so does the facility. Its very dated. There is only one place to get coffee, water and snacks. Its open from 7AM to 3PM and there is not any room service. Room service was discontinued in 2019. Otherwise you are forced to get food from one of the restaurants which is open till midnight. Be prepared to fight for your lounge chair. Pool chairs are not accessible until 9AM and most people just drop towels to declare ownership and leave. It's very unpleasant. We ended up being forced to reserve lounge chairs via their website at $15.00 per chair per day to guarantee seats. Delfino restaurant was OK. The pork chop milanease was good but we did not like the pasta dish. Atlantic Grille was a complete disaster for the birthday dinner. I ended up eating alone as the other party had to wait for the entree to be fixed two times and then it was declined! They did end up comping us the meal but it was a complete disappointment. In short, I would not recommend this for a vacation. You can do a lot better and overall the staff are miserable and poorly trained. However, Mia, the manager Alberta and Collin did their best to make a bad situation a little bit better. Enclosed are pics of the air conditioning unit near the bed and a video of the toilet noise.

Definitely not a 4 star resort ... I would not go back there. I'd rather pay the higher Ritz Carlton prices.

The location was nice. The atmosphere is geared for families, not couples. The room as dated, needs upgrading, and the air handler unit made it impossible to sleep, the room smelled musky and we had to keep the screen door open and fans on due the unbearable air handler unit (located steps from the bed off to sleep) and the bed was lumpy. I would not pay to stay there again. The cleanliness of the overall property was okay. The noise level in the room was fine, too many families (children of all ages in and around the property, esp. the pool area) for a couple to enjoy. They need to train their staff about customer service and being welcoming to guests. DO NOT EAT at the ATLANTIC GRILL. Such a horrible experience. Had to send back my dinner twice (did not know how to cook paella - do not put it on the menu if your kitchen doesn't know how to cook it). My husband ate alone for my birthday dinner.
