We love, love, love both the golf courses at Hammock Beach. Honestly, it's the only reason we visit. If it weren't for the golf my rating would be a 1. Why? Let me count the reasons: 1. We booked a room at the Lodge and were looking forward to having a view over the ocean and the golf course. While driving to the resort we received a call and were informed that our room at the Lodge was "uninhabitable " and so we were moved to the main tower. No further compensation or accommodation was offered. The room we were given instead had a musty odor and the view was unimpressive. 2. On the day we arrived I ordered 1 beer and 1 cocktail from the Ocean course bar. The total cost? $43. On Thursday I ordered 1 cocktail at the Conservatory course bar. The cost? $27. We've had the privilege of visiting some of the world's finest resorts -- Pinehurst, Kiawah Island, Bandon Dunes, Streamsong -- none charge these kind of exorbitant prices. 3. There's no nice way to say this. The entire resort is just "tired." Everything feels a bit dated and rough around the edges. Given the cost, we expect better. We will almost certainly return to Palm Coast and enjoy the courses at Hammock Beach. But until the property gets a refresh we'll stay, dine and drink elsewhere.

Our third visit here. The property maintenance was poor and unappealing. Trash in ponds, no mulch around landscaping, guide poles on paths down. Food has gone up, quality the same. Beware of the holiday buffets - $233 for two (tax and 20% tip added to your room; diners are not given the option to tip in cash or decide their tip (usually 10% - 15%). And we had zero to drink. Fire alarm went off at 5 a.m. with an evacuation - no explanation from management made (until I asked the next day). They are a credit-card-only resort, so a 3% charge goes on EVERYTHING. Having been here previously, I always use my debit card. However, upon checking out, they charged the fee anyway. At the prices you pay at this resort, 3% extra adds up quickly. It would be advantageous and proper for the staff to VERBALLY advised of this at check-in (yes, they have small signs posted, but what would it hurt). In addition, the resort does not heat all their pools - fine. However, they promote their lazy river, but it's not heated and cannot be used part of the year. We observed many disappointed kids (we enjoyed it too on previous visits). It would not take much to install solar heating in this area. All in all, we are ready to move on.

Everything was perfect except the Atlantic Grille. Bad service, disappointing food. Nice update of the lodge rooms. We'll be back.

Great location. Ambience is amazing. The rooms felt like home. Value is reasonable. Very clean, quiet, service was outstanding, amenities were great.

Ocean Course was in great shape - Conservatory needs a little more love and attention (however still a great course and an experience to not miss out when visiting).
