Reviews for Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa

This place is awesome!

Great stay! Huge rooms, I believe they are all 1 or 3 bedroom suites! Directly on beach and golf course runs right along the beach. Great lazy river! Had dinner in their "sports bar" and they had some nice unique cocktails there. In addition, try the grab and go pizza place and be sure to get honey on your pizza!

Pros and cons

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This was more like a 3.5 The good: great pool, good beach, loved the kids club. The staff was really happy/sweet and just had great vibes. They really made the trip wonderful! The villa we stayed in was large (though our friends’ was much larger and more updated). My husband liked the golf. The bad: some of the resort is run down and or broken. Lots of out of service areas. The elevators and hallways were grungy. You have to pay for chairs on the beach. Everything is expensive. Pina colada is $16. These things didn’t bother me but they might bother others. The ugly: the beds in our villa were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever encountered. I can’t believe that they were hotel beds. Extremely hard and bouncy. I woke up every time my husband moved. They don’t do any housekeeping during your stay, but our villa had minimal cleaning equipment (ie no sprays, vacuum, etc) which I needed to clean up after my gross kids. 1 medium trash bag for a family of 5 for 5 days. Finally, The tennis and pickleball are not on site and I tried to call and book and no one answered. It’s somewhat disingenuous to list these as an amenity-and was frustrating to us, because we chose the resort for our criteria: golf, pickleball, childcare.

Checked in Friday night, busy check in but went smooth. After a long drive the pools were awesome to use! Lobby bar was great and convenient, Anton really was awesome and took care of me the whole trip. Atlantic grille staff was also wonderful breakfast was delicious, Monica was very attentive. The shops were also a great addition kids had fun at the Arcade and pizza was good. At night the Security staff was very present and we felt safe walking about, shout out to Devin and Michael for helping me find my phone when the pools were closed. Overall a wonderful stay and I will definitely be back with the fam!

This is a very large high rise type of property made up of multiple connecting buildings. From the minute we entered through the parking garage and into the lobby, I sensed that it needed a serious overhaul. The gentleman at the desk was not particularly welcoming and had a bit of an attitude although he did assign us a room with a very lovely view. I will start with the positives: The room and bathroom was very spacious although quite dated. Furniture, flooring, bathroom fixtures seemed worn and dreary. The pool area was quite large and very nice. Temperature of pools was perfect. Personnel seemed a little untrained but were very pleasant and wanting to please. We had a delicious dinner at the Atlantic Grille one evening. Breakfast there was fine and the restaurant had a lovely view of the ocean. Prices were fair in the restaurants except for a $10 small piece of mediocre key lime pie. The negatives (besides needing an overhaul to the property/bedrooms/bathrooms as mentioned earlier): For a four star hotel, there were no robes available; bathroom lighting was very poor; no makeup mirror; poor quality towels and sheets; and worst of all were the very uncomfortable pillows. They only provided a lumpy foam like type of pillow. No feather, no down. no other choices were available and I checked twice at the desk just in case. I was told that they chose these as non allergic pillows but had NO alternatives. They suggested I go to the Walmart and purchase pillows. The pillows that were provided at the Hampton Inn the night before were a much better quality, offered 2 choices, and I had absolutely no issues with their comfort. I am therefore very cranky writing this because I had 4 terrible nights of sleep. A four star hotel should have decent pillows (and have feather/down available for those who wanted them or at least another down alternative selection) and better quality sheets. There are not a lot of choices for dining off of the property although the resort has three or four restaurants. Would I stay at this resort again? The answer is sadly "No".

This place is beautiful with nice staff! We really enjoyed our stay here!!! So many fun activities for the kiddos during Easter. Our condo was absolutely beautiful on cinnamon beach . Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be returning in the future.
