Reviews for Gran Melia Victoria

5 star all the way

We had a fantastic stay at Gran Meliá Victoria and would happily return. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. We were greeted with a glass of chilled Prosecco, which was a lovely touch and a great start to the holiday. Our room was stylish, spacious and very comfortable, with one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in. We stayed on a half-board basis but swapped dinner for lunch each day - no problem for the staff. The food was excellent, with lots of choice. The restaurant staff were always friendly and attentive. A special thank you to Ana Luisa, who looked after us every day and always made us feel welcome .. The hotel has a partnership with Audi, so we took full advantage of a complimentary Audi Q6 e-tron for the day! The hotel is within walking distance of Palma’s Old Town, although in the 34°C summer heat we usually took a taxi instead - around €15. Overall, we honestly couldn’t find much to fault. The hotel is elegant, the food is excellent, and what really stands out is the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, professional and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. We’d definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Palma.

A little disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We stay in Melia hotels often and had high hopes for this hotel. Our welcome wasn’t the best first impression. In other Melia hotels, the Level has a separate check-in, this hotel didn’t and the reception wasn’t particularly warm. The communication wasn’t great and we didn’t realise both our rooms (we were travelling with our adult children) had been upgraded. There was some confusion as the rooms were very different (we’d booked the same rooms) and there were issues with the outside space in one of the rooms. A very helpful and patient lady called Pilar, explained what had happened, but it wasn’t a smooth check-in - although we did of course appreciate the upgrade. We had a great holiday overall as Palma is so beautiful and the views from the hotel terrace were amazing. There were also many lovely, hard working members of staff who made a real effort. Special mentions to Ana Luisa and Arianna in the level lounge. But there were some issues. All of which we raised at the time. There was building work of some kind adjacent to the hotel which periodically caused a large part of our room to noisily vibrate which was really awful. When I first brought it up I was told, yes they knew and they’re having to put up with it too! I was also told another time that ‘everyone was complaining about it’. I do appreciate these things are outside of the hotels control but as they were clearly aware shouldn’t we have been advised at check-in? Press reader was advertised as a perk of being on The Level. We often use it and consequently none of us had brought magazines. It wasn’t available, in fact most of the staff had never heard of it. The terrace we had with our room was very strange. It was huge but not an attractive space. It’s hard to describe (I have video!) but it was like a prison exercise yard? We even found cigarette butts! It wasn’t giving luxury as the kids say. The carpets in the corridors were awful!! Stained and dirty. I’ve never seen this before in any 4/5 star hotel. The Red Level offered less than any other Level we’ve visited. Less comfy seats, less choice of cocktails, less staff and less choice of food. Not sure why? I chatted to other holidaymakers who completely agreed re the Red Level offerings. The description of the facilities is out of date too - No library? No TV? I wonder if it’s moved recently and the description had not been updated. All in all, despite some great staff and great views, we wouldn’t rush back.

Came for a Short Break. Although this is an old Hotel The interior Lounges, Restaurant and Terrace were Beautiful. Mellow Singers on the Terrace Restaurant of an evening. The Staff were all extremely friendly and the Breakfast was really good. The view of the Waterfront and Cathedral from our room was Fantastic.

I got scammed and Gran Melia helped the scammer

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I have filed police reports and fraud complaints with local authorities and U.S. government agencies, submitted formal complaints regarding the hotel’s handling of this incident, and am pursuing legal remedies. For a hotel that markets itself as a five-star luxury property, I expected professionalism, neutrality, and concern for guest safety. Instead, I was removed from accommodations I had paid for, denied the opportunity to secure my belongings, and left feeling unsafe. I cannot recommend Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá based on my experience.

Fabulous service yet again at Victoria Melia

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, albeit the first time 10 years ago. The first time we loved it and the second time again it was just as lovely. It has been refurbished since, fabulous terrace overlooking the marina and the new pool layout is great. This time we went red level and would do so again. It is only a 20 min stroll along the promenade into the main centre and there is a new upgraded cycle route alongside. The service at this hotel though is genuine and all staff are so very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food really tasty. We will certainly return and if you do read any less positive reviews you should really take them with a pinch of salt.
