Gran Melia Victoria in Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Located on the Spanish isle of Palma de Mallorca is the elegant and refined Gran Melia Victoria. This stylish hotel rests on the edge of a yacht-filled marina, and features traditional décor that is filled with a tapestry of textures and motifs, from sleek marble appointments to bolts of bold, striped fabrics. There are six distinct styles of accommodations from which to choose, including rooms and suites with added luxuries to ensure an unforgettable stay. Spaniards are all about enjoying the moment - a philosophy not lost on the guests of Gran Melia Victoria. The lavish outdoor swimming pool features a fleet of cabanas and a neighboring hot tub, as well as an al fresco fitness center. Massage therapy can be arranged upon request and administered in the privacy of your room or behind the drapes of a poolside cabana.
The hotel features a quartet of restaurants including La Terraza del Victoria, with its canopied patio overlooking the bay and collection of flickering candles to dine by. Snack Bar, a more casual culinary retreat, is an open-air lounge offering an array of light dishes, tapas and creative cocktails. Gran Melia Victoria is surrounded by magnificent architecture hailing from the 17th century, which should please both design enthusiasts and preservationists. Enjoy a date with Lady Luck at the neighboring casino or play it safe and tour some of the city's historic sites, such as La Seu Cathedral and Pueblo Español.

Reviews for Gran Melia Victoria
This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. The service is top of the line. The food was amazing and the bedroom beautiful. We had a room overlooking the harbour which was lined with super boats and breath taking views of the Gothic church across the water. Becauce it was our anniversary there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. This was truely a 5 star hotel and look forward to returning.

We moved room due to noise of properties near our bedroom and enjoyed the 6th floor over looking the castle we had a large bathroom and a separate dressing room no English TV or Sky English channels only the news I really feel for a 5 star hotel and during winter months residents that are English guests should have BBC1 And ITV as most of the guests are English also to have a free English newspaper to the bedroom would of been a nice touch. No complimentary water in the bedrooms and no water machines in the hallway/lobby the surrounding area I didn't like the location a nightclub next to the hotel, thank god it was closed during Christmas. The views thou superb of the city and harbour.

Since the Palas Atenea was closed we booked into the Victoria. I had stayed there several years ago but I had forgotten just how good it is. Everything went perfectly from Check In to Check Out. And the Bottle of Fizz in the room was very welcome. Unfortunately it was very quiet in the Hotel which didn't help the atmosphere. We missed the access to "The Level" which we benefit from at Palas Atenea inspite of being Platinum Members.

After a few days at Gran Melia hotel we feel it left plenty to be desired. The best part of our room was the view which we did pay for, if we had not paid for it, there wouldn't be anything really fantastic to say about the room. By the way, they really try to "sell" the views and the upgrades of the rooms when you check-in. While there is a lot nearby the hotel like restaurants and pubs, its not very nice or high end, so even though we stayed there to walk to places during the day and night, we always took a taxi to a better area, so we maybe should have stayed in a better street.
I stayed a week in this hotel during off season.. but i was delighted with this hotel staff, room, breakfast!!! I was there for working reason but it felt so good to go back to the hotel at night.. ejoying a good bath with the Clarins bath amenities and waiting for a glorious breakfast in the morning.. I'll be back !!!
