Reviews for Gran Melia Victoria
We picked the Gran Melia Victoria hotel for a short stay in Palma, arriving late on the Friday evening and leaving Sunday afternoon. It's worth pointing out at this point that my partner has a severe nut allergy so it's something we always take care of when staying at hotels. When we attended the buffet breakfast we took all reasonable steps to ask whether the bread contained nuts. They checked with the kitchen and informed us it did not. Unfortunately this was incorrect and as a result of the staff error we ended up having to race in a taxi to hospital where my partner spent the best part of our one full day in Palma on a drip being monitored. As well as putting my partner's health at serious risk it pretty much spoilt out stay. We felt that the hotel would be falling over itself to make amends for what had happened, given that they were clearly at fault, and the very least they could do was invite us back to but enjoy two nights (nut free) at their expense. However, instead of offering us anything close to this they instead saw it as an opportunity be make money out of our misfortune and offered us a four night stay for a discounted 500 Euro stay. So, on top of the £800 pounds, including flights, we'd paid for this trip we'd be expected to pay an additional 500 euros plus flights and taxis for to allow Gran Melia Victoria to say sorry. Hmmmm! Further emails were exchanged and we gave the hotel every opportunity to come back to us with an improve offer. We ended up being offered one complimentary night stay. The fact is that not only did this hotel fail in its duty of care but it had an opportunity to rectify a bad customer experiencere with the minimum of fall out, something which would have cost them very little to do. We are very disappointed with how they have handled the whole situation and would warn customers that this hotel has absolutely no idea about how to take care of its customers during their stay and in its ability to handle situations like this in a competent and satisfactory manner. We now feel compelled to share our experience so any potential customers are aware of what kind of service they might encounter if things don't quite go according to plan. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

We stayed here for a week in the spring, it was warm but not hot. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, high standards and beautiful views over the marina, including fabulous sunsets. The breakfast terrace being a highlight, each morning sat outside, gorgeous food and an even better view, staff were attentive but not intrusive. I would go back anytime.

My wife and I have stayed at many great hotels the world over ... not a boast just providing perspective for the wonderful time we had at Gran Melia Victoria. It is up there with the best. Our family including grand children loved it. The hotel, food, rooms and staff were all exceptional at all times. Can find no fault. Will visit again.

Second Easter stay . Overall hotel has been modernised and was friendly and well organised. Planning to visit later this year. Great base to visit shops and generally relax. Minor issue but would hope coffee machines will be replaced soon with a kettle..

Im not sure how other people had their holiday experience at Gran Melia, but surely I will not be returning. The staff is cold and uninterested, had to ask almost every day for the bathroom towels to be replenished, no success in getting a lounge chair at the pool, low water pressure in the bathroom and water quickly turned cold, I could go on. Noted that the breakfast was plentiful and delicious and I can't complain about the cleanliness.
