Reviews for The Epiphany, a Joie de Vivre Hotel
This hotel has some very nice features, the modern room and hallway decor is cool, and the bed was very comfortable. Separate water closet from the bathroom, which can be nice. There is no lobby, and you have to go out for the workout facility across the street, which was closed when we were there. Also, the restaurant is Nobu, which is very pricey, but it is four-star food. Great location in downtown Palo Alto, convenient to 101 and near Stanford. A place to sit and read the paper in a lobby area would be nice.

Spent three nights at Nobu Hotel while on business in Palo Alto and Menlo Park. The room worked great, the service was as good as it gets and the location is just about impossible to beat. The Nobu Hotel in Palo Alto is just one block away from University Avenue, the main street, and is on a lively street all by itself. Plenty of restaurants and cafes right near by. The CalTrain station is just a block or so away and it is an easy walk or bus ride from there to Stanford. If one has a car, then the hotel is one black of Alma, which becomes Central Expressway and is a reasonable non-freeway main street in this area. The 101 freeway is a about 10-15 minutes away. Great location. The hotel is new and well designed. The room was large and comfortable with a good bed, reasonably large bathroom and a very good work area. Good room. Service was really friendly and helpful throughout. At checkin, the reception staff made sure to provide me with a quiet room, even though I had not been able to pre-request such a room, as someone else made the reservation for me. Very happy with the room - towards the back, sufficiently high up and very quiet. It is a higher class hotel and it actually shows in the rooms, the service and the location. Would love to stay there when next in the Palo Alto area.

A high class hotel overlooking Palo Alto, with a spectacular view towards sunset if you are lucky enough to be on top floors. Large rooms with top design, perfectly fitted and equipped and luxurious bathroom. Prefectly located in the heart of Palo Alto, with a range of places at walking distance - annd you may even be offered a ride in one ofthe hotel' electric cars if beyond walking distance. Definitely the place to stay when in Palo Alto, whether you came for business or for a leisure trip in Northern California (unless may be if you're staying in the home of one of the Valley' top tech giant CEOs...)

Great weekend at Nobu celebrating my wife's birthday. - Room is excellent: Nice view, great internet bandwidth (not as common as you would think in Silicon Valley), comfy bed, top-shelf amenities. - Staff was even better. Shout-out to Kash for excellent service!! - Nobu breakfast in your room. What could be better? Seriously awesome. - Oh yeah, and dinner at Nobu, as well.

The hotel is very new and modern, super-nice modern decorations and design. The staff is unbelievably helpful. The gym is actually a full-size fitness club in the building across the street - a huge benefit for me! The hotel itself has really only one negative: sound isolation is not super-great, so you hear more of a noisy street than you would like. However, the breakfast turned out to be a MAJOR disappointment! I had a business meeting, so figured we'd just eat at the hotel. Sat sown at the restaurant, no buffet. OK no problem, ordered a couple of omelettes, bacon, you know, the usual stuff. Got hit with the massive more than a $100 bill for two for a very mediocre food! That definitely left a bit of a negative aftertaste.
