Trump International Hotel & Tower Panama

So I booked a long term stay rate here… I had to return to Canada for medical reasons and getting permission to leave early was a challenge. Given my ambassador status did not seem to mean much at this property!!! The biggest issue for me was the intense mold smell throughout the property. From the lobby to my room 3412 the smell was overwhelming at times. Even the pillows on the beds had this smell!!! I stayed at the Le Meridian which is under renovation so I do not recommend staying here unless the renovations are completed but it did not have as strong smell of mold or musty as the JW. The Westin Panamá had zero smell!! Location is not as good but love the friendly staff here!!! I recommend this property for sure!! JW Marriott was formerly a Trump Hotel, I don’t know why the musty smell is so strong but it is!!

Just returned from a great trip to Panama. We stayed at the JW last year as well....rooms are nice! Bathing situation is rather awkward.....tub in the middle of the room that probably is never used. Food service this year was slow and just OK. Room service was great as well as the guys greeting you when you arrive with excellent bag service. Negative this year.....we are not gamblers, but went to the casino to watch the NFL playoffs. The prostitutes are everywhere. Very young ladies looking for fun with any man. Great location to take a few mile walk through the city. The Foodie market is a few blocks away and they have a great selection of fruits and stacks. Overall....JW is nice for a short stay! Pick and choose what you want to do there!

As Bonvoy Platinum members who stayed at this hotel as the final stop on a multi-week trip across LATAM, this iconic property largely lived up to our expectations. Check in took a bit longer than one would prefer, but we were taken care of by the amazing Leonardo who continued to go above and beyond throughout our stay. Many thanks to him for making our time at the JW Panama so fantastic. We arrived to our room which was quite comfortable for sleeping but quite uncomfortable from a bathroom perspective. We were prepared for this after looking at pictures of the rooms ahead of time, but if privacy from your roommates (be that spouse, friend, children, etc.) while using the bathroom or bathing is an important factor while choosing a hotel, this property is likely not a good choice. Happy hour in the lounge was very generous and the view from the lounge was stunning. The service in the lounge was consistently amazing. Breakfast in the main restaurant was fantastic and among the best we've had in LATAM. There were some issues with bug bites while eating outside, so strongly recommended to either wear repellent or sit indoors. The hotel is located in a really comfortable and safe neighborhood that offers malls, pharmacies, grocery stores, and restaurants within walking distance. Ubers were readily available and rather reasonable for when we were interested in venturing to other areas of the city. The hotel is starting to show its age and is in need of a facelift in general. There is a strong musky scent throughout the property, a clear indication of an under-maintained water-front property in need of some remodeling. However, the service and soft product offerings at the hotel were great, and we would gladly consider a return to this property in the future.

The hotel needs some work. We are Marriott Titanium Elite rewards members and we really expected more from the next level JWMarriott and we have stayed at many if the Marriott Brand upscale hotels. Check in was long and difficult. There was only one person helping and there was a line. My husband asked another staff person he saw talking with another staff person and he said oh I can check you in. The first room we had really had a string chemical smell like they were masking something. Later I realized it was the smell of dog as the hotel is pet friendly. I have allergies and that room aggravated them. We moved the next day to a new room and when we came back after a day out about 5 the room had still not been cleaned. My husband went to the front desk and a person was sent and we at that point just needed towels. He brought us two hand dowels and when we asked for the full three piece towel set he came back soaps. I realize he did not understand buy why should it have taken 3 tries to just get towels. The folks working in the lounge for reward members were nice and the food was decent except for the undercooked scrambled eggs. The Christmas decorations were nice Overall the hotel is aging and needs a computer

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the JW Panama. The wonderful pool staff who are very helpful with food and seating options. The suite was amazing huge and the shower was spa amazing. The buffet was amazing and the staff were professional and welcoming to accommodate from Omelettes to a nice cup of coffee. Check in was very seemless and a delight. This is a well run JW Marriott. The massage and spa area is a must to go visit. The balcony was my sanctuary every night. JW is walking distance from the mall and other great restaurants. You have found your place for a nice retreat. Can't wait to come back.
