Reviews for Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa

Great spot in Paradise Valley.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is a not notch non golf resort. Service is excellent. Food is excellent. Rooms are excellent. I have been coming to Sanctuary for many years. They have maintained the property well. Rooms are clean and well designed. Best shower ever! Staff is always friendly and accomomodating. Not much to complain about. Everything is very expensive. Plan to eat some meals of the property for some variety. Old Town Scottsdale is very close and there are many restaurants close by. Great long weekend spot. My only negative are that there were some loud groups of women by the pool drinking with a music cube, and housekeeping came late in the afternoon. Othewise this is a top notch resort.

Extraordinary Group Guest Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Being in charge of a 30 person group is not easy, particularly when their expectations are so high. The staff at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain made that easy, and far exceeded the expectations of the people in my group. Lisa Sterns (Head of Group Sales) made sure my group was well taken care of, from the time of contracting until our last guests left the resort. Matthew Vandegrift (GM) met with me on two occasions are had his team support my group with a high level of commitment rarely seen at resorts. Of particular note was Shelby, Darcy, Amanda, Daniel (Jade Manager), Carly and Xochiti. They were personable, responsive, professional and all seemed to be genuinely happy at their job, working with each other as a cohesive team, committed to making guests have the best experience possible. Yes, the Resort has wonderful rooms, a great location with beautiful views and terrific food. But what separates it from other venues, is the people who work there, and the extraordinary level of service they provide to guests.

A Tranquil Wellness Environment.

Clinging to the north side of Camelback Mountain sits the boutique Sanctuary Camelback Mountain (dubbed the Sanctuary). I relished my Mountain suite with balcony, fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows, living room, stone walls, light woods and glam furnishings done in a neutral color palette. The tiled bathroom was outfitted with a soaker tub and separate shower. Elements is the fine dining venue at the Sanctuary serving American cuisine fused with Asian flavours with the eating experience enhanced by sunset views from the outdoor patio. The menu emphasizes seasonal dishes with global influences like Chilean Sea Bass, Yellowfin Tuna Steak, Argentinian Ribeye and more....I opted for the Island Trout....delicious and fresh like just out of the water. The jade Bar is a hot spot for Happy Hour. The resort is endowed with an infinity pool, a fitness centre, pickle ball and tennis courts, and a movement studio that offers daily fitness class. The highlight of the property is a 12000 sq. ft. Spa that offers Asian therapies in 12 indoor and outdoor retreats surrounded by soothing water features and a meditation garden. The menu promotes exotic options including Tok Sen massage which blends Thai Massage with vibration therapy and the signature Golden Lotus Balancing Ritual. I delved into an acupuncture routine as a remedy to sooth my aching bones after an arduous tennis match. So, if you are looking for a health-infused retreat, nestled in a stunning mountain backdrop.............then try the..................Sanctuary Camelback Mountain.................. ..........a tranquil wellness environment.

Top notch experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

On a recent trip I ate breakfast at their main restaurant, Elements, and had an excellent meal and service (thank you Julio!). I then spent the morning at their spa and had an excellent massage and a very relaxing time. This has been a regular stop on my trips to Phoenix, and they never disappoint. In the past, I also stayed there and next time I go to town that is where I will stay.

CALLOUS AND DISRESPECTFUL!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

CALLOUS AND DISRESPECTFUL! For a 5 start hotel they sure are heartless. My mother-in-law had medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital two days before our vacation and stay at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. Of course we had to cancel our trip and every other resort waived the cancelation penalty because they were human and understood the situation. Sanctuary Camelback Mountain actually told us that they could only waive the fee if we pick a new reservation date right then and there and that new reservation would not be cancelable. Seriously? My MIL is hooked up to a ventilator and you want me to plan my next vacation with you? We were going to book with you next time but with this callous response, I will make sure we never stay there again and tell everyone about it.

Just returned from a trip that included a four-night package at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. The level of service cannot be overestimated. At the pool it took no more than two minutes for someone to bring glasses of ice water with lemon - every chaise was covered with a lounge cover and a fresh towel waiting under an opened umbrella. The quality of the food was exceptional as well. I cannot tell you what a splendid experience this was. Thanks for the opportunity!
