5 star hotel? A bit disappointed.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our fault for not asking to see the room options before we settled for the bigger room. Once in, we should have objected to having a handicapped room … but it was roomy. No tub. One sink. Looked like something you’d get at a Hampton Inn. At 800e per night (including breakfast), we were disappointed. Constantly asked for refreshing water and coffee services. On the upside, it’s a beautiful hotel with jazz entertainment at night. Fantastic location on the heart of St. Germaine. Beautiful building with very helpful concierge. Overall, good … however, not what we would expect from a five star hotel.

Perfect in so many ways !

Perfect hotel experience and will certainly try to return. Rooms are spacious, big bathrooms, clean and well appointed. Location is terrific. Steps to the pont neuf and the right bank attractions. Lovely walking around the left bank, Latin quarter , close to major museums and terrific restaurants. Staff were uniformly wonderful, friendly, helpful, competent, etc… The bar with jazz music at night was lovely and a terrific plus! Breakfast room was lovely and comfortable with a nice buffet. My truly only suggestion would be to add hot oatmeal to the breakfast offerings :) We hope to be so fortunate as to return soon and are already telling all our friends to visit. Thank you !

We have stayed at many hotels in Paris, but we keep coming back to this one. It is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast is such a joy and the people who work here are so very helpful. I want to make certain that you stay is great. And they certainly delivered. We stayed here last month and this month and I can’t wait to come back again.

Fantastic stay

Most excellent and classy hotel and staff. Spent 6 nights there during a January cold snap. Location is superb as was the roaring wood burning fireplace in the Lounge after walking and touring all day. Concierge crew was outstanding and made this vaca for my wife’s birthday truly one to remember.

Awesome hotel! Hint: Call to choose your room.

October 2023 I adore this hotel. The location, the spa, the concierge services, the bar, w definitely the bar! The huge incredible breakfast buffet, the beautiful lounge area with fireplace, the friendly and helpful staff. I could go on. The cleaning staff is awesome. They have a supervisor who inspects the rooms after they’re cleaned. What I don’t love are the bathrooms. We have stayed in several different rooms, even the junior suites, where the bathrooms were in dire need of help. Very small with the old tub-shower combo that seems somewhat at odds with the rest of the hotel. The closets are also tiny but we pack light so that’s not too much of a problem for us. I do understand the limited space these old historic buildings have to deal with but some of the rooms are very large and I would gladly trade some of that space for a walk in shower. Having said all that, Hotel d’Aubusson is still five stars in my book.
