The Hotel du Collectionneur in Paris, France

Three garden terraces turn the Hotel du Collectionneur into an oasis just north of the Champs-Elysees. The hotel's glamorous Art Deco style is inspired by transatlantic cruise liners of the 1930s – green marble, antiques and elaborate period prints adorn the hallways, and top floor rooms have small balconies from which to behold the city below. Sip on absinthe in an alcove at the glitzy Purple Bar, watching life go by on Rue de Courcelles.

Enjoy a croissant and coffee in the courtyard among fountains, cypress hedges, rosebushes and palm trees. Boutique-hop along the Champs-Elysées and browse the permanent collection at the Petit Palais. Relax in the spa's Oriental Steam Room after a Carita anti-aging facial. End the day with sphère de saumon fume served on the plant-walled terrace. The utopia of a Parisian vacation lies within the grounds of the Hotel du Collectionneur.

We arrived tired after a long train trip from Amsterdam for a short stay in Paris . We were told by the concierge that most of the MIchelin Star restaurant were closed for the summer but he would ring around for us . After we had changed we went downstairs and the concierge informed us we had a booking at Laurent Restaurant that night and he arranged a cab for us and we had a wonderful night . The next morning at breakfast one of the senior staff was at the restaurant , he asked our room number and i cheekily replied " the room with the dodgy hot water taps " He was horrified , and sent staff to move us to another room whilst we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast . Great location and excellent staff .

We just finished a week at the hotel. Everyone could not have been more friendly, genuinely nice and helpful. The Concierge team made so many arrangements for us--ballet tickets, dinner reservations, shipped a box. Their advice--down to the most scenic way to walk to the Eiffel Tower--was great every time. Our room was nice and quiet, facing the inner courtyard. There were elevator issues, and a couple other facility based issues--but the hotel was clearly working on them. Great location for foodies as many top restaurants were close by. We are hoping to go back when the weather is warmer.

There’s a huge choice of higher end hotels to stay at in central Paris and this one is excellent. If you arrive before your check in time you can still wait for your room whilst enjoying the facilities in the spa and even breakfast in the executive lounge. The room was well appointed and had a lovely view of the courtyard. Located around 10 mins and an 8 Euro taxi ride from the Eiffel Tower, the location was ideal. The taxi from the airport cost a flat 50 Euros. Staff were very pleasant and were obviously trying their best to be accommodating so I would recommend.

I have stayed with you 4 years ago and I had a fantastic time. One of the highlights on our previous stay was the breakfast. this time however it was horrendous. We were led into meeting rooms, not seated, and told to help ourselves to the food in the corridor. It was dreadful. The staff didn't know what was going on and trying to serve ourselves in the extremely busy corridor was appalling. Hundreds of people milling about up and down the narrow corridor.€40 per person for the privilege too. Also, the price of food and drink in the Purple Bar was shocking, even by Paris and 5 star standards. Three beers, Three Gins and a club sandwich €144........Woo, this is way too expensive, not only that but at the bottom of the receipt there was a line to enter a tip. I only realized the next day when I showed a french friend of mine the receipt that the hotel had already added a service charge. All of the staff were extremely friendly but obviously not empowered to deal with complaints. When I complained at reception I was told that I was not the first person to complain and that we are sorry. But that was that.....
