The Hotel du Collectionneur in Paris, France

Three garden terraces turn the Hotel du Collectionneur into an oasis just north of the Champs-Elysees. The hotel's glamorous Art Deco style is inspired by transatlantic cruise liners of the 1930s – green marble, antiques and elaborate period prints adorn the hallways, and top floor rooms have small balconies from which to behold the city below. Sip on absinthe in an alcove at the glitzy Purple Bar, watching life go by on Rue de Courcelles.

Enjoy a croissant and coffee in the courtyard among fountains, cypress hedges, rosebushes and palm trees. Boutique-hop along the Champs-Elysées and browse the permanent collection at the Petit Palais. Relax in the spa's Oriental Steam Room after a Carita anti-aging facial. End the day with sphère de saumon fume served on the plant-walled terrace. The utopia of a Parisian vacation lies within the grounds of the Hotel du Collectionneur.

I was happy with the flexibility of the staff. We didn’t like our initial room and they switched our room right away. We were able to get a pleasant, spacious sunny room. Also, the cafe had the best coffee and service. Overall, I thought that the price was reasonable for the excellent location of the hotel and nice rooms.

We let the bellman know that air conditioning was our number one priority. He said it was working perfectly. When we got back to the room at 12:30am to find the room sweltering hot! We called the desk and they sent someone up to change the filter in the ceiling. Still no change after an hour. I had to go lie down in the lobby where the air flow was better. No one noticed me snoozing on the couch for an hour. Lobby was noisy, so had to retreat to my sauna of a room,. I would expect more from a 5 star hotel. Don't stay here!

Only stayed one night due to change of travel plans but generally good. The first room assigned was superior, only problem is the outside construction, asked to switch, the second room in the back is a bit old, smaller bathroom, but won't complain since I initiated the change. The front desk has been very helpful in terms of helping me connecting the calls due to language barrier. Too bad we don't have time to try the restaurant downstairs but we did have two very good in-room dining experience. The hotel is located in middle of 3 subway station although you gotta walk 10 mins to each one but generally this is one of the hotel I want to visit again. The spa looks nice however we don't have enough time to experience it due to short time frame.

Stayed here in Jan 2018. Had a rat in the room. Terrible service. Will never come back here. The management didn’t do much. Really horrific experience. Stay away from the hotel and book elsewhere. Bad bad bad

The hotel has all the amenities of the other 4/5 star hotels. The quality of the breakfast prevented it from getting an excellent rating. Eggs are runny, and not a lot of fresh fruit or cheeses. Coffee server was slow every day, but I am not sure it was his entire fault. The whole situation seemed disorganized, and relatively unfriendly. For the price of 40 E, more was expected. Front desk and room service were spot on. Make sure you officially check out to check charges, as they had items from the minibar that we did not purchase. Apparently if you remove items from the minibar to make room for personal food items, their removal automatically goes on your bill as it is monitored by a computer. It was no problem getting the extras removed, but if we had just assumed that owed nothing, and left, we would have been charged for the extra items. The location is a little farther from many of the popular tourist attractions, however, we booked tours and were driven to all the attractions we wanted to see. Taxis are easy to catch from here and tours are also easy to arrange. Hotel security was very good, and door cards were necessary to make the elevators work.
