Our New Favorite Hotel in Paris!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We recently spent five nights at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, and it is now our favorite hotel in the city. The hotel is in a wonderful location on Avenue Montaigne, close to great shopping, restaurants, and many of the sights we wanted to see. We also loved the hotel itself. The red awnings, beautiful architecture, and classic Parisian style give the Plaza Athénée so much character. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. Louise Prevost, Director of Guest Relations, greeted us personally and took us to our room. She was so warm and gracious, and it was a wonderful way to begin our stay. We had booked a newly renovated Junior Suite and were very fortunate to be upgraded to a beautiful suite with a balcony and an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the marble bathroom with its soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. One of our favorite memories was sitting on the balcony in the evening and watching the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle. We never got tired of that view. The service throughout the hotel was excellent. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, and we always felt well taken care of. The housekeeping team was wonderful. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and everything was always in perfect order. They paid attention to all the little details, which we really appreciated. The concierge team was also a big part of what made our stay so enjoyable. I contacted them before our arrival with quite a few requests, including restaurant reservations and activities. They were extremely responsive and helpful and were able to arrange a reservation at La Renommée Restaurant as well as excellent seats at the Crazy Horse. Lilli was especially wonderful and she was always responsive and answered all of my questions in great detail. Once we arrived, the concierge team continued to give us great suggestions and recommendations. Their knowledge of Paris was impressive, and they made planning our days much easier. We had breakfast in the beautiful hotel restaurant every morning. We enjoyed the food and thought the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and attentive, and it was a very nice way to start each day. I was also celebrating a special occasion during our stay, and the hotel did so much to make it memorable. I was surprised and delighted by the beautiful gifts and thoughtful treats that were waiting for me. Those personal touches meant a lot to me and were something I will remember. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. There was always a nice energy throughout the property. It felt lively without losing the elegance that makes the Plaza Athénée so special. On our last evening, we had dinner at La Terrasse Montaigne and sat outside on the terrace. It was fabulous and a wonderful way to finish our stay. We also had the pleasure of meeting François Delahaye, the General Manager. He was engaging, gracious, and delightful to talk with. It was clear how much pride he takes in the hotel and its traditions. We enjoyed meeting him very much. What we loved most about the Plaza Athénée was not just the beautiful room or the location. It was the combination of the setting, the service, the staff, and the feeling we had throughout our stay. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. This was one of those hotel stays where we were sad to leave. The Plaza Athénée is now our favorite hotel in Paris, and we are already looking forward to returning. I also want to thank the many members of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable: Laurence Bloch, Deputy General Manager — thank you for the lovely personal note in our suite. Hafid — thank you for helping my husband with his computer. Gerald, the porter. A special thank-you to the Concierge Team, including Lilli, Pascal, Nicolas, Valentine, Clémence, Marc-Antoine, Florian, Alizée, and Max. Guest Experience Team- Lucy and Juliet. Breakfast- Imnes and the two Juliens for taking such good care of us. And a very special thank-you to Bachir, Maître d’Hôtel at breakfast. You were truly fabulous! We adored you! Even letting me order a cheeseburger for breakfast! Dado- Deputy Manager of the restaurant Simon, our waiter at La Terrasse Montaigne. Front Office: Alex, Giovanne, Su, Sacha, Athenais, Julie, Felicite, Kamil, Nicole, Morwan, Stephane, and Tiphaine. Finally, thank you to the Doormen: Ines, Samurl, Geoffroy, Alone, Guillaumr, Ouassini, Morgan, Emmanurl, and Yassin. You were all fantastic.

Leader in Paris Palace hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Exceeding expectations in every way, this was truly an excellent stay for a first trip to Paris. I had booked this for my parents as a special anniversary surprise, and everything about the stay, including the rooms, location, and customer service from the F&B team, front desk, guest services, and concierge, was simply unbeatable. This is what exceptional service and creating genuine memories for guests truly looks like. I had requested additional assistance to make the stay even more special for my parents, and the entire team went above and beyond in answering and responding to every one of my enquiries over many months, often doing even more than I had asked to make the stay unforgettable. Thank you, Plaza Athénée, for exemplifying exceptional hospitality and demonstrating what a true palace hotel stands for.

Perfect lunch experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

My sister and I were fortunate to have a lunch reservation in La Cour Jardin on May 7. I believe it was only the second day of opening for the season . We were greeted by Emma and served by Matheo . Enzo and Lorenzo provided excellent oversight of our experience. Everything was perfect and the food could not have been more delicious (lobster burger, sea bass, beurre sucre and salted caramel ice cream sundae). Thanks for the lovely day, can’t wait to return!

Review for The Avenue Montaigne terrace, NOT the hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Too bad I couldn’t add my review for the bar only. The hotel itself doesn’t deserve my bad score. Back to The Avenue Montaigne terrace. We had lunch there, and I must say I regret it with all my heart. Super steep prices, like 14 € for a small Coke Zero. Imagine then the cost of a glass of Möet that we ordered, that was super flat without bubbles. We sent it back. The onion soup did not have enough cheese, just bread and onion, again, for 30€ for one small bowl. My complaint is really not the price. It’s the two waitresses that met us in a downgrading way and continued to meet every customer that I have problems with. How can such an establishment hire people that don’t go above and beyond for their customers but instead treat them like we are ruining their day? Not one smile. Rude, not French arrogance but downward unwelcoming. I really wanted to go one of the Michelin restaurants for dinner later but we decided not to, on fear of this customer treatment being their norm. If you want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for mediocre food, flat champagne and awful customer service, then The Avenue Montaigne terrace is for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you
