Leader in Paris Palace hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Exceeding expectations in every way, this was truly an excellent stay for a first trip to Paris. I had booked this for my parents as a special anniversary surprise, and everything about the stay, including the rooms, location, and customer service from the F&B team, front desk, guest services, and concierge, was simply unbeatable. This is what exceptional service and creating genuine memories for guests truly looks like. I had requested additional assistance to make the stay even more special for my parents, and the entire team went above and beyond in answering and responding to every one of my enquiries over many months, often doing even more than I had asked to make the stay unforgettable. Thank you, Plaza Athénée, for exemplifying exceptional hospitality and demonstrating what a true palace hotel stands for.

Perfect lunch experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

My sister and I were fortunate to have a lunch reservation in La Cour Jardin on May 7. I believe it was only the second day of opening for the season . We were greeted by Emma and served by Matheo . Enzo and Lorenzo provided excellent oversight of our experience. Everything was perfect and the food could not have been more delicious (lobster burger, sea bass, beurre sucre and salted caramel ice cream sundae). Thanks for the lovely day, can’t wait to return!

Review for The Avenue Montaigne terrace, NOT the hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Too bad I couldn’t add my review for the bar only. The hotel itself doesn’t deserve my bad score. Back to The Avenue Montaigne terrace. We had lunch there, and I must say I regret it with all my heart. Super steep prices, like 14 € for a small Coke Zero. Imagine then the cost of a glass of Möet that we ordered, that was super flat without bubbles. We sent it back. The onion soup did not have enough cheese, just bread and onion, again, for 30€ for one small bowl. My complaint is really not the price. It’s the two waitresses that met us in a downgrading way and continued to meet every customer that I have problems with. How can such an establishment hire people that don’t go above and beyond for their customers but instead treat them like we are ruining their day? Not one smile. Rude, not French arrogance but downward unwelcoming. I really wanted to go one of the Michelin restaurants for dinner later but we decided not to, on fear of this customer treatment being their norm. If you want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for mediocre food, flat champagne and awful customer service, then The Avenue Montaigne terrace is for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you

A beautiful hotel with one fatal flaw – avoid the restaurant at all costs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

I truly wanted to love this hotel. And in many ways, I still do. It is, without question, one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The location is absolutely breathtaking—right in the heart of Paris, just steps away from the Eiffel Tower. You feel the magic of the city the moment you walk through the door. The interior is elegant and thoughtfully designed. Every detail feels curated, and there is a genuine sense of style and comfort throughout. The spa and gym are both excellent—well-maintained, peaceful, and equipped with everything you could need. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and furnished with every convenience imaginable. We truly lacked nothing in terms of accommodation. I must also mention the staff—they are incredibly welcoming, warm, and attentive. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they genuinely enhanced our stay. Even the tea selection was wonderful; it’s the little touches like this that make a hotel feel special. So why only three stars? Because none of that mattered the night we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant. We were a large group of 16 people, celebrating a family birthday. It was meant to be a memorable evening. The service was grand, the dishes kept coming, and everything looked beautiful. But the next day, 13 out of 16 of us fell severely ill with food poisoning. What makes this unforgivable is not just the illness itself—it was the hotel’s reaction. They showed zero accountability. No apology. No compensation. Not even a genuine expression of concern. Instead, they suggested we had simply “eaten too much.” For a hotel of this calibre and price point, that response is not just disappointing—it is insulting. We paid a significant amount of money for that dinner. We expected professionalism, safety, and responsibility. Instead, our entire trip was overshadowed by sickness and exhaustion, and the hotel acted as though nothing had happened. So here is my honest advice: Stay here. Enjoy the location, the spa, the beautiful rooms, and the lovely staff. But do not eat in the restaurant. You are far safer dining at a small, unassuming bistro anywhere else in Paris. The risk is simply not worth it.
