Honestly probably one of the worst Marriotts i've ever stayed at. For reference I probably stay in 100+ Marriott hotel a year as I travel for work. 1. Price/Room: I understand being in Paris things are going to cost more, but what you get for paying over $300 a night is less than ideal. Rooms themselves were extremely beat up TV was as old as you can get in Marriott. And the AC, not only doesn't tell you what the temp in the room is, but it was so hot I couldn't use the bed covers once and sweat every single night. 2. Breakfast: The food was okay honestly. I was lucky; because of my status I was supposed to get the breakfast for free every morning (otherwise $25 a person) but every morning they argued with me telling me that It was not included for me, thus I would go to the front desk ask them why this was the case, they'd apologize say it was updated and then the next morning the same thing would repeat. This was also the case for room cleaning. We waived it in order to get the extra points, however they would inconsistently come to clean, we would ask the front desk to waive the cleaning, and the cycle would repeat 3. Staff: staff was average at best I really do hate saying anything negative about staff as I know they deal with a lot and take a lot of crap from guests. I had a lot of very nice people I talked to and then some that didn't want to give me the time of day, and I'm talking about even just saying hi to them. And on top of that I got scolded at by cleaning staff because they were trying to clean my room and I mentioned we had chosen the green choice option. If you ever contact staff via the messaging system expect to not get a response for a couple hours and normally for them to tell you they can't do anything with no additional suggestions. 4. There was construction that they did mention at check in, and it's understandable, but it was very very loud every single day. Not everyone will deal with this obviously but did contribute to my stay. 5. Elevator: thought It was fine until my wife got in and I followed, door started closing on me, and like any normal hotel, I expected it to open as a person was trying to get in. Nope! Continued to shut and I decided it wasn't worth getting trapped and jumped back out to not get closed on. The elevator had absolutely no automatic safety feature to prevent closing on a person, frankly it was a really close call and extremely unsafe. I am lucky that I chose to get out instead of trusting the supposedly "automatic" safety feature. IF that elevator does indeed have the safety feature, it needs to be repaired asap! Overall, this was one of the worst Marriott experiences I've had in a very very long time. All things considered, especially taking in the fact that it's $300+ a night and breakfast being a steep $25 per person for what you get, it was just not worth it. Do yourself a favor and get a nicer hotel for the same price (even if it's outside the city a bit more, we ended up having to Uber to get to any of the tourist attractions anyways).

For the price I would recommend staying somewhere else. We were there for three nights in a family room. The room was not clean - room 571 with connecting family room 572. Very dusty. Our bathroom smelled like mold and there was mildew on the tiles. The shower was missing a covered knob and you had to take the shower stopper out to drain properly. Basic stuff. One night a hotel service person tried to come in our room at 11:30 pm which was odd. Thankfully we had the security bars in place. And sadly the housekeeping does not leave your belongings in the same place you put them. They moved our personal items and our son had bought come posters at a local market in Caen before we arrived at the hotel. He carefully placed them in the table to protect them before putting away in luggage. Sadly they were stolen! I couldn’t believe it. Literally taken from our room!!!! We told the hotel. They “investigated” but could not find them. Upsetting. And the last morning we left another hotel service person tried to come into our room at 7:30 in the morning. Thankfully the security bar was again in place. While this is a Marriott it is not up to the standards we are used to in the United States. Stay away!!!

The hotel no longer has an executive lounge, which is fine. I've encountered this before and have been offered points as compensation (Titanium Elite member). They don't do that here. They only offer a €20 food and beverage credit. So you go to the restaurant for dinner to take advantage of the credit only to find outrageous prices, so even with the credit you still pay much, much more than you would outside the hotel. Eat and stay elsewhere if you can.

My recent stay at Le Méridien Paris Arc de Triomphe marked the absolute low point of my over 450 nights with Marriott. As a Titanium Elite member, I justifiably expect a standard of recognition and service that was glaringly absent during my visit. From our arrival, my Bonvoy status was entirely overlooked. There was no welcome drink to express appreciation for my loyalty and, despite our hefty luggage and my 4-year-old child in tow, not a single staff member offered any assistance—an utter failure of basic hospitality. The room we were given was far too small and cramped, with a sofa bed and only two towels provided for three guests. Compounding our misery was the ongoing noisy renovations, which rendered daytime napping for my daughter impossible. The situation escalated when we were abruptly awakened at dawn by a blaring fire alarm that persisted for over 10 minutes, with no staff member responding and emergency calls going unanswered. The most troubling aspect of our stay was the unsatisfactory behavior of "Franc," the Duty Manager. His rudeness and confrontational manner were shocking, especially his refusal to acknowledge or apologize for the numerous issues we faced. To further insult our ordeal, he denied a Marriott employee discount (my wife is an associate) simply because I was a Titanium Elite member using points—this reasoning baffles me and starkly contradicts Marriott's core values. It is disheartening that one individual could turn our eagerly anticipated trip to Paris into such a distressing experience. Other significant grievances included: - Bathrooms that were consistently filthy, with hair left lingering in the bathtub. - Terrible food and beverage service: cold fondue, unacceptably long waits for drinks, and a manager dismissively suggesting I “go complain to management” when I inquired about a specific sports channel. - An inadequate €20 daily allowance for a closed lounge—barely enough to cover a single drink for two adults and a child. - A lack of essential breakfast items: pastries ran out with no alternatives offered. - Unfulfilled promises regarding room changes, despite my mentioning my daughter's birthday. - An overall lack of warmth or even basic eye contact from the staff throughout the hotel. This hotel starkly reflects a troubling absence of staff training and a glaring disregard for both elite members and their own associates. It is astonishing to witness such low standards from a Marriott property. I cannot in good conscience recommend Le Méridien Paris Arc de Triomphe, and I strongly advise potential guests to seek alternative accommodations in Paris. This experience has irrevocably tarnished my view of this Le Méridien location.

My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Le Méridien Paris Arc De Triomphe Etoile in Paris, France. The hotel was included as part of a Gate1 tour of several countries, so I can’t comment on the room rate. The hotel is located on the Right Bank in the 17th arondissment. The Palais des Congrès is right across the street and the Arc De Triomphe is about a 15-minute walk away. Public transit options are nearby, as well as restaurants and shops. The actual lobby is fairly large and has several seating arrangements. Check-in was handled by Gate1. Our room (3002) was smallish by US standards (we were in Europe after all) and had a very contemporary decor. As is more common nowadays, you have to put your room key in a slot to enable the electricity in the room. A combined closet and shelving unit was immediately on the left when you came in. The closet contained an iron/ironing board; the shelves held a coffee/tea set-up, fridge and safe. Extra towels and one robe were also there. A flat-screen TV was mounted on the wall across from the foot of the bed. A desk and chair were right of that. Our room came with two twins beds joined together to form a king with four pillows. Mismatched tables flanked the beds with reading lights above each. The beds and pillows were somewhat soft, but comfortable. NOTE: Each bed had some sort of frame underneath it, with a lever/handle that stuck out a bit. (Maybe for moving the beds?) Regardless, after the first few times I stepped on it, I learned to avoid stubbing my toes on it. The bathroom was split between a separate water closet for the toilet and a shower/sink room. The shower/sink room was adequately sized with enough counter space. A hair dryer was provided and magnifying makeup mirror was mounted on the wall. Towels were fine - no wash cloths though. (MALIN +GOETZ) toiletries were provided: hand wash was mounted next to the sink and body wash and shampoo were mounted in the shower. The shower was a normal-size walk-in model with a fixed glass wall on the side. It had a combination rain shower/handheld fixture configuration. Water temperature and pressure were fine. Breakfast was included with our room and was served in the restaurant on the ground floor. A full selection of cold and hot selections (including an omelette station) were offered. As is also common, coffee is dispensed a cup at a time from a programmable coffee station. But a pleasant surprise was a separate coffee urn with regular American coffee. Overall, we found our room to be adequate and comfortable and would not hesitate to stay there again. For more specific details and pictures, visit the hotel’s website.
