Beautiful, très chic Paris is in fine form at Les Jardins du Marais. Behind an unassuming façade on Rue Amelot in Marais, this Summit Hotels & Resorts property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, adds a contemporary edge to 1930s glamour in rooms outfitted with plush purple carpeting and Macassar ebony furniture. Sunlight floods the lobby and restaurant through a glass roof, and blossoming flowers are everywhere. Nine renovated, historic buildings comprise the hotel – one used to house Gustave Eiffel’s workshop.

The hotel was very nice. Staff was friendly. The hotel was clean and I would stay there again. I opted for the Executive Room and it had a nice view and was big.

Les Jardin Du Marais is and absolutely fantastic hotel in a beautiful part of Paris. The price is phenomal and much more affordable than less hotels I’ve stayed at in Paris. The rooms are very nice and meticulously clean. The courtyard/jardins was decorated for Christmas, giving a great holiday vibe! Best of all was Ouassila. Her guest service was outstanding - she was incredibly pleasant when we checked in. Ouassilla happily booked us a taxi to the airport and gave solid advice on how early to leave in case of bad traffic. Ouassila also happily accommodated a room preference change without concern. To top it off, Ouassila also selected me open the special staff advent calendar. Very professional costumer service in a polite yet relaxed atmosphere. Best hotel experience in Paris! Thank you!

I will start out first with the positive, the staff is 10/10, the beds were extremely comfortable and the location is excellent. The hotel is located in a fun neighborhood , near a major Metro stop that can get you anywhere in Paris within 30 minutes. This was advertised as a boutique hotel which it is not, it is made up of several small apartment buildings all of them which require you to go through the courtyard outside to get to your room, many that have stairs and no security in the individual buildings themselves. The courtyard is pretty when it is clean however a few of the days I stayed there I had to navigate through spilled food and drinks that had been left out overnight. The room however was the biggest disappointment. I choose this hotel specifically for the Junior Suite as it featured a seperate sitting and sleeping area. I was travelling with my neice and wanted her to have her own space. The room we were given was nothing like what was pictured, it was one room with the twin bed shoved up against the corner of the wall next to the windows. The bed did not even have pillows on it to sleep. It did not have the extra table and chair to sit in as pictured and was not decorated at all except for to old pictures by the main bed. The mirror was cracked and the desk was chipped. The TV was placed on a night stand, not mounted as in the picture. The rooms are carpeted ( pretty old) however from the picture I assumed it was hardware floors. Bathroom was ok however extremely tiny-again not what is advertised on the website. They offered to change our room the next day after our check-in so we repacked our suticases and left them by the door for the move. When I stopped by the front desk for our new room number I was told the room had not been changed because the new room was no different then the one we were staying in. The front desk attendence offered to show me the other room and then if I thought it was better they would move us. It was 11:00 pm, we were exhausted and it made no sense to move if it was going to be the same. I usually do not take the time to write reviews however this hotel was nothing like what was advertised. It's 2.5 stars at best, no were near the 4 stars it claims to be.

Based on the location and the photos of the hotel, we booked 3 nights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Firstly, the hotel looks nothing like it does on their website. The whole decor is tired, outdated and looks cheap. We knew straight away that it was a disaster when they upgraded us to the junior suite and it was basic at best with tired decor. With its cheap plastic lighting, drab curtains and dingy carpet, we were so upset and cross that we had paid over £200 per night for a very budget hotel. We asked if we could change rooms but they were full (which I find absolutely incredible), and said they 'might' have availability the next night. After a bad nights sleep due to the noise of the lift and people talking outside our door, we decided not to stay. To their credit they did then offer us another room but by then we just wanted to leave. We felt duped, upset and so disappointed by the whole experience. Please, please don't waste your money on a hotel that deceives people.

Overall good experience. Stayed as part of a Road Scholar trip. Pros: Extremely nice and helpful staff; spacious and clean room; great breakfast spread; pleasant dining room; convenient location near many restaurants and shops and 1/2 block from metro. Cons: the rooms are in buildings surrounding a sort of courtyard, where sometimes people have conversations, sometimes at night, and the noise disturbed my sleep a few times. The hotel should really make an effort to control that. The location on the edge of the Marais is convenient but not the most charming, according to my fantasy of the ideal Parisian experience.
