Beautiful, très chic Paris is in fine form at Les Jardins du Marais. Behind an unassuming façade on Rue Amelot in Marais, this Summit Hotels & Resorts property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, adds a contemporary edge to 1930s glamour in rooms outfitted with plush purple carpeting and Macassar ebony furniture. Sunlight floods the lobby and restaurant through a glass roof, and blossoming flowers are everywhere. Nine renovated, historic buildings comprise the hotel – one used to house Gustave Eiffel’s workshop.

Awful experience, so noisy and A tired hotel

It's listed as a 4 star boutique hotel, definitely overrated. Upon arrival, the front desk was significantly understaffed given the large number of guests waiting to check-in (30-45 min per guest). Spotty service in all areas for the most part. For example, It took 3 attempts to get a bucket of ice. In the end we went to the restaurant and got it ourselves. Our room was definitely not what we booked or expected considering we paid for a 4 star room. Upon check- out from our 6th floor room, the only elevator in our wing was broken and there was little in the way of help with bags from bell staff. On the positive side, the location was good. Overall, we would not stay at this hotel again.

If you are wondering if you can stay in Paris at a clean, quiet neighborhood hotel in the happening Marais fairly cheaply, the answer is YES. Located on Rue Amelot, the hotel has 263 rooms; however, it feels cozy and quaint. There is an outdoor courtyard where one could read, eat, or talk with a friend. There is a small gym and wellness area. The beds are comfortable and clean, and there is a/c. The staff is very friendly and kind. It is a no-nonsense type of place, which was what I was in the mood for, and you can't beat the location. There are tons of fantastic restaurants and cafes nearby, and it's only a hop, skip, and a jump to the Musée Picasso and Musée Carnavalet.

This is a comfortable hotel within easy reach of the sights. The room was small but nice, and the breakfast was very good. We were lucky that we had good weather, as you need to go outside across the courtyard to get to the breakfast room. I wouldn't recommend it for people with mobility problems because there are a lot of steps and uneven flooring to get into the building. Also, in our room, there was a step-in bath with the shower over the bath, but no handrail to help people with mobility problems to climb in safely. Maybe there are special rooms with walk-in showers if you ask. The staff were very helpful; they managed to find the passport that one of our party had left in the room and send it to the airport in time for the flight, for which we are extremely grateful!

This is a perfectly fine hotel in a very convenient location with a very good breakfast. We checked in very late in the evening after a long day sightseeing, however, we were a bit disappointed to find that our room was very strangely located outside the fire door at the top of some emergency fire stairs. It meant that I felt uneasy leaving our valuables there when we were out and most importantly, the room was very cold. The room itself was small with a tiny bathroom but for one night it was fine. Thankfully, the breakfast was very good. If you're expecting modern day four stars, this is not the hotel for you.
