About the Hotel

Beautiful, très chic Paris is in fine form at Les Jardins du Marais. Behind an unassuming façade on Rue Amelot in Marais, this Summit Hotels & Resorts property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, adds a contemporary edge to 1930s glamour in rooms outfitted with plush purple carpeting and Macassar ebony furniture. Sunlight floods the lobby and restaurant through a glass roof, and blossoming flowers are everywhere. Nine renovated, historic buildings comprise the hotel – one used to house Gustave Eiffel’s workshop.

The hotel is in a nice quiet area of the 11th arrondissement, but so close to the back of 3rd arrondissement that it made it easy to get around the city via the 8 line. This was not our first trip to Paris so we didn't need a hotel in the middle of everything, instead we wanted a nice location that was quiet and had great amenities. This place delivered on it all.

Horrible and very expensive

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We booked 4 rooms for ourselves and our staff as we come to Paris often and like the area of Marais. This hotel was not cheap at about €450.00 per night including breakfast. The breakfast was terrible, overcooked scrambled eggs cooked to serve a huge crowd of people as there were a lot of Tour Bus people with their name tags in this hotel, . Coffee that looked and tasted like warm brown dish washing water, we couldn’t drink it, it was basically like a work cafeteria, just very average. We opted for the other 2 mornings to go out to the street and have breakfast at a local cafe where the food and coffee was actually drinkable and edible. Couldn’t torture ourselves in that poor excuse for a breakfast room. The room was so hot we had to leave a window open, the A/C did not cool at all. No hangers for our clothes in the wardrobe, we asked for some but they never came. The shower spout was loose so spurted water everywhere but not much on your body, again asked it to be fixed but nobody came, just pathetic. It was a suite and the old vinyl covered lounge had no springs. Just a very expensive DUMP., our mistake for booking it so DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET IT. Also the entry to the bar area had a sort of hidden step, the tiles were black, and we sat in the bar one day and saw 3 people trip on it, one lady fell flat on her face and hurt her knee, just a big disaster which will happen!! This place is in my opinion a maximum 2 star and worth less than half what we paid, just a rip off, never again.

Good location, remote rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Great location, but... The hotel is a series of separate buildings around a courtyard. Our room was in the farthest building. If I had been traveling alone, I would have been uncomfortable with how remote it was. The hotel advertised a bar, with bar food, and a restaurant. But when we asked at the front desk, we were told that both were closed "until Tuesday", with the implication that of course we should have known. Luckily, a grocery store was nearby as we just wanted something small.

Very pleasant stay

We just spent the Easter holiday weekend in Paris and for the second time stayed at Les Jardin Du Marais. All the staff members are very professional and efficient. I would like to give a special mention to Ouassila, who went out of her way to ensure our stay was excellent. Her whole attitude is calm and professional. I have to say Ouassila is very welcoming and caring for the guests, ensuring guests have everything they need for the stay. We felt very welcomed. We will certainly be coming back
