This was a wonderful, wonderful hotel. Arriving after a hectic day motoring across the French countryside, dropping off our rental car at the airport, taking shuttle, train, and taxi to the hotel, we felt just a bit frazzled. But the front-desk staff took care to give us a proper welcome, so that we'd feel cared for and so that we could shift into relaxation. We mentioned that it was our second wedding anniversary, so they said they would do a small favor for us. After we checked into the room, a nice bottle of Veuve-Cliquot champagne was sent up with their compliments. That was very nice. The bathroom had both a huge tub and a large shower, so I put in the bath salts, drew a bath, poured a glass of the champagne, and settled in. What a pleasure. The bathroom was very luxuriously laid out--the mirror contains a television set! (Not a television mounted behind it; the LEDs of the TV screen are actually integrated into the glass. I'd never seen that before--fascinating!) When the room service arrived, that was the main event. My wife opted for traditional French dishes like French onion soup and filet steak and frites, but I had this incredible Thai food. (The Shangri-La is Chinese-owned, so they have a lot of good Chinese and southeast Asian food as well as French food on offer.) There was a fantastic dish with chicken, vegetables, and a light curry, and this amazing soup, recalling (but not exactly like) Tom Ka Gai soup. There's no describing how incredible it all was. My wife kept coming around the table to steal more of my soup. Every time we think of it, we feel like getting right on a plane and zipping back to Paris for more (but we don't get to do that any time we want). The next morning's breakfast was equally delicious; the hot chocolate rivaled Angelina's. The rooms are perfectly beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. There is almost no complaint to be made; the only thing I might say is that the views from our room were not good, but aside from that, this is simply the perfect hotel. The services, the food, the staff, everything about the hotel, were all beyond reproach. We only had one night there, but we hope to return for several nights the next time. Well done!

When booked Shangri-La Paris, I did know it would be ok considering the prices I was paying-very expensive. Now after my stay I must say its value for money considering the location and THE SERVICES! All the people at the concierge were so helpful, and they could tell me the places I wanted to go straight away, and would take the trouble to come out of the hotel (in their thin/smart uniform, in the cold weather ), and pointing to me the directions(with full details already written on ). Of course, the best Chinese food i have had overseas in their Shang Palace, and their beautiful garden(with Effil Tower as background )outside their French restaurant, all these added to this fabulous experience!

love the smaller, boutique feel of the hotel. lobby isn't bustling and crowded and what a beautiful historic building and lobby. received quite a warm welcome from hotel staff the second we exited the car. before our arrival, communication with hotel was prompt and very helpful. specifically wanted to book a room with two-story windows with views of the eiffel tower and it is pretty special. you'd think you'd get bored of watching the eiffel tower lights sparkle every hour but it's still kind of fun after a few days. our room was not described with a terrace but one of the windows did open as a door onto a small balcony with small seat. bed was super comfortable and the room was really quiet, great for sleeping in and having no agenda. gym has a barbell and light kettlebells among other typical hotel gym machines. pool is 15m long and is in the former carriage/receiving area. one day the water temp was uncomfortably warm for laps (30deg c) but it seemed to cool down a little on subsequent days. food at shang restaurant really quite good. peking duck can be served in one course (vs two courses). breakfast buffet has european and chinese options (dimsum, congee). guestrooms have hot water kettle. hotel provided special occasion chocolate cake that was kind of pudding-y with crunchy bits. really good. farm market around the corner from hotel on wilson on wed and sat mornings. the only off thing about the hotel for me would be the line of bulgari amenities which are very strong and sometimes irritate my airways or cause headache. very comfortable, memorable stay here.

18 reviews 5.0 star rating 11/19/2017 We just visited Paris last week and I have to say the Shangri-La is one of the most amazing hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. Evan greeted us after a long plane ride and car ride from the airport to the hotel. We were concerned that our room would not be ready since we had arrived hours before check in. Evan was outstanding at making us feel at home and let us know our room was ready early. The food was amazing, the room service and they even had amazing vegan options. The concierge was over the top helpful. The Eiffel tower views from our room was fantastic. Such a beautiful hotel, great location and outstanding service.
