Reviews for The Chateaux Deer Valley

Super Disappointing. Small Room. Old noisy appliances, uncomfortable pillows, and squeaky bed.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Super disappointing. I booked a two-night stay through Priceline about 15 minutes before arriving for a last-minute trip. Given the Deer Valley location and the high price, I expected a solid, comfortable experience. What we got fell well short. Parking is confusing and poorly marked on arrival. The only option is underground parking at $40 per night—an extra charge that was never mentioned during booking. That alone added a meaningful cost that wasn’t transparent upfront. The room itself was surprisingly small—noticeably smaller than rooms at most newer hotels. The property feels older (though generally well-kept), but the details were disappointing. The wet bar sink was broken, and the refrigerator was so loud it kept us awake the entire night. The three pillows on the king-size bed felt like oversized cotton swabs—hot, dense, and uncomfortable. As soon as we saw the room, I went back to the front desk and asked to cancel the second night. They refused to cancel the second night, although it had literally only been about 30 minutes since I had booked it. We stayed the one night, got almost no sleep because of the fridge noise, and left the next day despite having already paid for two nights. I asked to speak to a manager about a refund in the morning, and they refused to allow me to speak to a manager and indicated they had already talked to the manager about my request, and it was denied. Between the parking fee and other add-ons, the final cost ran roughly 25% higher than the rate shown on Priceline and similar sites. For the price and the Deer Valley address, this was a significant letdown. There are far better options in Park City at lower rates, and even the Grand America in Salt Lake City would have been a better value. Although it was in Deer Valley, it is not within walking distance of anything. There is no view, and unless you are skiing, there is zero advantage to staying in that location. Even if you were skiing, you would need a shuttle to get anywhere. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. The combination of opaque fees, a tiny room with maintenance issues, and a hard no-refund stance made for a frustrating experience.

Great Staff Service

I found the staff to be uncommonly dedicated and helpful. There was a minor snafu with our reservation and I wanted to specifically thsnk Temple and Patrick, the night manager, for going above and beyond.

Great location- Great Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The location was breathtaking. The property and it's atmosphere was spot on. The room was perfect and the staff are so nice and professional. The price point for this property and it's amenities were great. We will definitely plan a return trip in our future travels.

22 anniversary

Everything started well calling directly to the resort and speaking with Judy and reservations. She made everything smooth and streamline. Then once I got my reservationTemple took over as one of the most efficient and most caring concierge service I’ve ever worked with in 28 years in the hotel industry. All the staff at the hotel were nicely groomed, very courteous and impeccable service.

Birthday weekend made special

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We came up to the Chateaux for my moms birthday this year! Everyone was so friendly right from the get go. Our server Kevin and server in training Helen made sure that everything was exactly to order and brought to us nice and hot. (The gnocchi is to die for) The hotel hosted a family smores and movie night out in the court yard with lawn games like yard pong and corn hole to get everyone out on the floor. What a fun experience to eat popcorn out on the lawn while roasting smores with the family! Overall a wonderful night spent celebrating with Mom and the rest of the family.
