We came back again for the second time, and really enjoyed our stay. We booked the Dine and Stay package, so dinner and breakfast was included. Our meals were fantastic (try the corn and pancetta pizza. Seriously.), our room was comfortable, and our weekend was just as relaxing as we'd hoped it would be.

We spent 4 days backpacking for our 25th anniversary, and this location made a WONDERFUL end to a spectacular week! The room was beautifully decorated...loved the warm colors, wood beams, fireplace, kitchenette area...everything was great! Didn't spend too much time outside, but the outdoor fireplace, pools and hot tubs looked really nice. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. We ate dinner at the restaurant and found it to be pretty reasonably priced and very good food! The breakfast that is included with your room was also very good! Nice variety of hot items, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit, pastries, and toast. One of the best hotel breakfasts we've had! Free shuttle was a great bonus...all the drivers were really helpful with great suggestions for restaurants and things to do/see. We loved the location right near the ski lift! We hiked up to the top of the mt to see the view and could just imagine how great this place would be during ski season (indoor parking bonus!)! We did, however, like the OFF-season room price!!!

I need to preface this review by saying we enjoyed our trip at this hotel, but when you are paying a lot to stay at a nicer hotel, there are certain things that we, as guests, expect to find. This hotel is a beautiful place to go for a family or business trip. If you’re coming from out of state it is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. We stayed at this hotel for almost a week in the off-season month of September. Guests need to be aware that most things are shut down near the hotel during the off-season so they will have to travel to get to stores, shops, museums, coffee shops, and restaurants, but the Chateaux is in a pretty location. There are pros and cons to every place in Park city and Deer Valley. The location this hotel is in a remote location, so guests need to be aware that they will need to use the shuttle or have their own car even to get to Main Street, Park City (there is a free shuttle to Main St. offered at the hotel) Also, this hotel is located across from the Stein Erickson hotel (its sister hotel), which is a plus because the Stein offers more amenities than the Château. The shuttle has ample space for business meetings and reception areas. The layout of this hotel takes some getting used to. It is hard to explain in a review what I mean but just understand that there are different buildings and rooms located on different levels with multiple elevators and entrances. The bar is nice for a small group, just be aware it’s small and limited in space for any type of larger gathering. There is one, small restaurant on site which offers Italian cuisine and some breakfast options. Our suite had a full kitchen so we brought in supplies for when we did not feel like dining out. This hotel offers a swimming pool and hot tub which our family used and enjoyed as it was not occupied by any other guests. The Fitness center, however is in an unusual location to get to. You have to cross a parking lot which is underground, and look for a barely visible sign. The gym has no windows to the outside and the equipment is getting dated. There is a spot this hotel we did not use it. Our room was a one bedroom with a king bed and a pull out sofa in a separate living room. I room had two, beautiful fireplaces, a full kitchen, dining room, and one and 1/4 bath. It was really nice having so much space, and the fireplaces were a nice touch as the weather starting to turn cold. Our colleagues that stayed in another type of room said their bed was a Murphy bed which pulled out from the wall and which they thought was unusual for such an expensive hotel. One other thing to note is that the garage doors go up and down several times on the weekends. Especially on a Sunday morning when people are leaving town -the noise of the Garage Doors going up and down was very annoying because our room was right near the exit and the noise never stopped. The hotel should leave the doors open during these excessively busy hours. So be aware that you will hear that noise if your room is located near the garage doors which everyone has to enter in and out of. Please be aware that we stayed September 2017 and there is construction going on across the street for a new hotel. The noise was not horrible, but at times it was frustrating as we were trying to enjoy the view and the peacefulness of Deer Valley with construction trucks and workers doing their thing.

The hotel provides shuttle service into Park City so having a drink or two with dinner is no problem. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. Great presentation with wonderful service. The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was our room was above the food delivery entrance and we were awakened at 5:30 am.

First lodge/hotel stay for my wife and I. The rooms were pretty cool. I was not expecting the fold-away bed into the wall. Another first. The room were quite spacious with full sized refrigerators, gas stove, some silverware, pots and pans. Pretty much anything you need to stay for a week or longer in one place away from home. With a grocery store not far away. Being at such a high elevation and our first time we have a little problem catching our breathe the first night but after talking to the staff they sent someone just down the street into town and picked up a couple hand held oxygen cans (about the size of a 1/2 liter water bottle) you can keep it in your jacket and take a shot of oxygen when you need it. I don't want to make it sound unpleasant, we've just never done higher elevations and did not adapt too quickly. Back to what matters. The staffing was quite pleasant and helpful. The beds were much better than I thought I knew of a foldaway bed, very nice. Would we give The Chateaux Deer Valley another look on the next trip? Yes, definitely.
