The Langham Huntington, Pasadena

This stay, they put us in the Royce Manor, which is a building separate from the main hotel. The room was spacious, though sparsely furnished, and there was no in-room frig, which was ridiculous. There is also no ice maker in the building. Also, while the hallways and rooms in the Manor are spotless, the exterior of the building is badly faded, with noticeably chipping paint. Finally, for whatever reason the staff decided to park a large blue bin of pool towels, right in front of the entrance to the Manor, which looked tacky and cheap. It was like having a housekeeping cart sitting in the middle of the hallway all day and night...unsightly,

Room type a bit overpriced. But beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Need to adjust water features to make it easier to use in bathroom. Pipes were tight and hard to utilize shower and bath. Need better bath products. Room change by front desk was done per request.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful resort. Staff is absolutely top notch, extremely welcoming. TechnoGym equipment in the fitness center is amazing. Looking forward to staying here again.

For the price this hotel is quite poor. It’s a lovely place with a very nice garden but the rooms have a terrible view and are quite poorly laid out. Our bed faced a window that looked out onto what appeared to be the trash cans and the Sofa looked at the coffee machine (nespresso). Quite how you were meant to watch the TV which was on a third wall not really visible from either is a mystery. I suspect the mini fridge was very noisy as a previous guest had unplugged it (along with the TV - we didn’t use it). The shower was good at least (although the towel rails were in a very weird spot, nothing was accessible from the sink area) and the Bed and pillows excellent. The house car was also good but don’t believe the front desk when they say they can organize it for you. You need to speak to Valet yourself. We had lunch on the terrace - it was ok but not for the price. The Steak sandwich wasn’t real steak… the tomato soup was good but came with a random slice of dry gluten free bread and cost was high. There seems to be a lot of “insta wannabees” prancing around in this place even on a Wednesday so be ready to be in a load of random videos… Valet cost is high - which would lead me to expect the car would be covered and that they would be quick… it came back slowly and filthy! The resort fee (covers Two bottles of water and free WiFi) is insanely high. Lastly despite there being more staff than guests onsite a late checkout request got a measly 30mins added.
