Beautiful historical well-maintained building located on the top of the hill in a lovely residential area. The hotel has a beautiful lobby with various rooms to enjoy. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the building super clean and saying hello in hallways. It’s a special place- but there’s no special experience at check in- no glass of champagne or juice- not even a smile. Rather you wait for service in the busy lobby - which is an ongoing theme. Unfortunately the hotel is not well run and not attentive to guests at all. Rather they make excuses for their incompetence and lack of professionalism. Despite an additional $60 per day resort fee, the room had NO supplies (bar soap, cotton swabs, makeup wipes, shower cap, shaving kit, dental kit), just the standard built in liquid soap/shampoo/body lotion. Only 2 small plastic water bottles and pod coffee in the room. You had to call- and wait for someone to answer-and wait for delivery-for anything more. There was no coffee/tea or water urn in lobby. I have stayed in budget hotels with more supplies! The hotel food was ok/good but overall was subpar for Pasadena/LA. There were long waits everywhere- 45 min to get into the incredibly overpriced Terrace restaurant for breakfast that was included in our luxury package with watery coffee and loud ambiance; 25 minutes waiting for car- with mandatory $50 valet and nowhere else to park - at check-in we were not told how to order car in advance- but found out the first time after waiting; 15 minute waiting to get to front desk personnel to change room (from first one right over loading dock, with mosquitoes) and later to correct erroneous bill when we wanted a quick departure. We were not escorted to the room. Front desk staffer corrected bill and graciously provided further reductions. We’re grateful for that- but can’t help but wonder how many others were overcharged and didn’t notice or have time to get it corrected. Room service was ok- but one day brought the wrong bread and another brought watery coffee- when we asked for it strong. Considering the prices- it should have been better.

Our family of 3 (adults) stayed at the Langham over Christmas. We splurged and got a suite, which included access to the Club Lounge on the 8th floor. Our room was more than we imagined, 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms, and very luxurious. We had a couple of minor issues with the bathrooms, but it was solved within minutes. The service was impeccable! The Club Lounge food was decent, but we felt like the quality was lacking (particularly the breakfast food), considering the amount we paid for our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay again, although not necessarily in a suite.

Beautiful property, but a terrible stay. Waited 30 minutes for valet, which could have been prevented had they had more staff. The property audaciously charged $5 for a baby shampoo!! The manager Reza is an arrogant jerk who talks to you like you work for him and makes absolutely no effort to right the wrongs.

I have stayed in fine hotels all over the world. It's hard for me to convey how terrible this hotel is. The staff is completely incompetent and dismissive. I was robbed here and they didn't know what to do about it. It was due to the hotel's overall negligence. Even though the location of the hotel may be convenient for guests, it is not safe to stay here. Worth the drive to stay somewhere else that has proper security and a staff that will honor and protect their guests.

The Hotel exceeded expectations. Great and friendly staff. Room was spacious and nice. Our only regret was not spending more time at the hotel and taking more advantage of what they had on site.
