Reviews for The Langham Huntington
I used stay at the Langham Pasadena at least twice a month, sometimes weekly, when I travel here for business. I finally stopped staying here as I had consistent issues with their wifi -it was always stalling out, kicking me off my computer and made it nearly impossible to get any work done - that's hard on a business trip! They did finally start giving me a hotspot to use - which helped -but when they would forget to leave it for me at the front desk, it took up too much time trying to get it. I finally gave up on my last trip when I found many of the staff (excluding the room service and parking valet staff) to be cool at the best of times and downright rude at the worst of times. I returned here last night when my choices left me no other options. I am sad to say it disappointed yet again. The woman who checked me in wasn't simply cool - she was outright rude. No "Welcome to the Langham" no smile, she interrupted me when I asked a question, said, "You're in room 433" and when I said, "Ok thank you, have a nice night" turned and ignored me, started talking to her colleague. What an awful way to begin a hotel stay when you already wish you could be at home! I sat in the bar for at least 20 minutes with a huge pile of dirty dishes in front of before someone asked if I'd been helped, they got my room service order wrong for both dinner and lunch, the toilet didn't flush properly and the bathroom had a faucet drip. The bright spot was both room service waiters - very nice and helpful. But overall, who needs this kind of treatment and hassle in a "luxury" hotel? As a business traveler, I've stayed in some of the finest and the Langham doesn't come close. You might as well stay at the Westin - the prices are about the same and at least their wifi works.

From check-in to check-out, the service, rooms, and Terrace restaurant need to be reavaluated by the management. Check-in was slow, inefficient, and lacking in help and information on arrival. No one was at the counter or even visible as I stood waiting for an evening check--in. The room had a bad smell (like sewer gas) on entry each time I returned to it. Breakfast at the Terrace should have been great, and though the coffee was hot, the wait time for food was 35 minutes after a 10 minute wait to order. Poached eggs on toast with hash browns arrived at room temperature, and a tomato half with Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs was cold! I didn't have time to send it back. The grounds of the Huntington are still beautiful and its prices are at a premium, but if services are not improved, clients will move on to other options. Buyer beware.

I returned to the Langham Huntington after spending much of my childhood there. Of course, the layout is not the same, but the service and quality of the experience matched what I remembered. It used to be the center of Pasadena life when I was growing up so I had spent many happy times there. This visit did not disappoint. I had requested a room with a nice outlook, and I was told that I probably would not have such a room because I had chosen a standard room. Nevertheless the desk clerk was able to find a room for me with a view of the horseshoe garden. It was lovely. The service is first-rate.

This was second last stop on a round the world trip and it was a very nice place to finish. The luxury hotel has an old world charm tucked away in an upmarket suburb. The location for us was perfect, close enough to LA but far enough away. Make sure you go on the free hotel tour to give you an overview of all the property has to offer. Old Town Pasadena was only a short drive away with lots of shopping and food options. Closer to the hotel is Cal Tech with heaps of very good value restaurant options. We all loved the restaurant called Lemonade on South Lake Avenue, great food and cheap. The Huntington Library is also just a short drive away. The Langham Huntington Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Pasadena.
