Complete disappointment and dissatisfaction with the deterioration of the normal experience at this hotel. It has gone from a 5-star, luxury, elegant, relaxing experience to nothing more than an over-priced, over-crowded "Marriott" type resort. We have been guests for more than 40 years and sadly, have no intention of staying here again. We never thought it would happen to the Huntington, but it has. The one refreshing thing is that most of the staff we encountered seemed to be long-time employees who still understand the importance of an excellent level of customer service and their dedication to doing their jobs well. Upon checking in at the posted time, we were told our room would be ready in approx 15 minutes because it was being "checked." Over an hour later, we finally got into the room only to find the toilet running, and not flushing. This was the first of many problems with our room (mainly plumbing) and cost us much wasted time and frustration. We repeatedly could not get anyone to answer the phone. At one point, the front desk clerk said we would have quicker response by texting. At this kind of hotel (luxury), the phone should be answered quickly and problems resolved, not handled by texting! Overall, the hotel was very noisy and chaotic. Many people on speaker phones or listening to music, etc without headphones. This is very disturbing especially in a dining environment. The staff should have tactfully asked these people to step outside, but nothing was done. The Executive Club Room is a joke. Don't pay the extra money for this. This place used to be a VERY relaxing environment for light meals, snacks and cocktails. It truly was a “Lounge” and was worth paying the extra room charge. It is now a cross between a cafeteria and Chucky Cheese. The staff could have done a better job of controlling the chaos. Also, although the dress code is posted, some people either didn't know about it or didn't care. The Tap Room is now a loud "sports bar" type place, instead of a "lounge" with good cocktails, snacks and music. Given the room rates, this hotel should provide 5-star service in all categories. It has for many years and we have usually been VERY satisfied. I don't know what happened, but it has lost it's appeal and the specialness it once had.

Everything at the Langham is extremely average. Everything is way overpriced for what you are getting.

Beautiful hotel, lovely room accommodation and great location…..and that’s where it ends. Food is extortionately expensive, especially in their signature restaurant, The Royce. And they charge resident guests $50 per day for parking-rip off . But here’s the worst of it, this hotel charges extra to use the amenities in the hotel…..that one would think are normally for the use of guests who pay the room rate to stay. When you book a room in a hotel you pay for each night that you’re there based on what the hotel has to offer. At this hotel, unbeknownst to me, the room charge doesn’t entitle you to use the hotel amenities eg the pool, the hotel charges an extra USD$70 per day as a mandated amenities charge, you don’t get to opt in/out….it’s simply billed to you on check out. And it’s taken out of the hefty “security charge” they take from your credit card when you check in, also mandatory. The extra charges are not divulged when you book a room at this hotel, and consumers accept the booking on the basis of the advertised room rate on sites like Booking.com. It’s disingenuous, sly and a rip off. So what you really pay for is the (already hefty) room rate plus $70 each day you stay for amenities that you may or may not use.

If I win the 500mil lottery, I’m moving into this place. It’s really a wonderful place to stay. Clean, pool is great. Not to overcrowded, great for families and kids. Second pool that quite if that’s what you need. Room and bathrooms are beautiful clean and very comfortable. Food is excellent. Steaks were omg ! I love in iowa and they must ship all the good streaks to California. I don’t want to recommend because I want to be able to visit and have open rooms when I need / I want to hoard this gem.
