This was my first trip back to the Los Angeles area in 8 years. I decided to splurge and stay at the Langham because I may not be back in the area again for a long time. Of course, I reserved a table for Afternoon Tea as soon as I booked a room over a month before my trip. The Afternoon Tea service was pleasant although the staff seemed shorthanded. The room I chose was a Premier Double in the main building. The room was surprisingly spacious with a generous bathroom and an actual closet to hang your clothes. There’s only one sink, but the bath tub and shower are separated. The room also has a small empty mini-fridge which came in handy. The gardens are beautiful, and it makes you forget that you’re in the middle of a busy metropolitan area. There were a couple of missteps in the room. The shower cubicle had body wash, conditioner, and hand soap. The sink had a bottle of shampoo on it. Were the staff simply refilling the bottles with incorrect liquids where the bottles were or were the bottles simply placed wrong? Both the ‘hand soap’ in the shower and the “shampoo” on the counter were clear and so I couldn’t tell. When I opened the amenity kit, the previous guest had used a portion of it, boxed it up and placed it back on the shelf. Please, if you use the amenity kit, please don’t put it back for the next guest to find - yuck. Lastly, the bedside stand has a couple of easily accessible 3-prong outlets with a USB port. One of the outlets had something stuck where the ground plug goes and so the outlet was useless. Would I stay at the Langham again? A definitive Yes! I would stay here again for the luxury experience and the wonderful staff.

Property is beautiful and staff relatively attentive but there seems to be no insulation between the rooms. We could hear everything on the rooms on either side of us. Impossible to relax or sleep. Made what could have been a great stay very stressful.

They only had one robe in the room and we had to make two calls to have another one, along with water, delivered. The restaurant, although good, was out of Huevos Rancheros on the menu. When we got our car from the valet and asked for water for the road, we were told that they were all out.

Took the extended family for a day at the pool, so we could relax and enjoy each other while attending an event nearby. Worked wonderfully for multi-generation interchange.

Magnificent, old world charm, rustic, endearing and elegant surroundings with excellent amenities - local lucid car service an added plus.
