My Langham Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

I haven't travelled in a long time.... and decided to splurge and stayed here for two nights in their Exclusive Patio Room with my senior dog, Bella (my other two went to the puppy hotel). I pre-paid the room, which saved me a bit of money. The hotel was able to accommodate my need for a small fridge and a microwave (for Bella's food). Everything at the hotel is lovely. Pasadena is a true gem. I loved walking in the Oak Knoll neighborhood and enjoying the wonderful gardens on the Langham property. Talking with many passersby. Taking deep breaths... finally feeling like I could and DID relax. I visited the Tap Room and the Terrace twice because we enjoyed our experience so much. Something that is unique to this hotel -- is the overwhelming friendly disposition of every staff member we encountered. From Nathan (the guy that works on the ponds and pools), to Max (at the Terrace), to Abby & Francis (at the Tap Room)... to the front staff (forgot his name) that helped me (even locating me in the Tap Room when they needed me)... Honestly, I think all of the staff truly likes this place, and THIS shows with how they treat their guests. No ask is too much and even though I didn't need anything crazy... just making it reasonable to travel with a senior dog that gets homemade meatballs, it was really a nice feeling. I would do anything for my pup, but this trip was really for me. I think Bella was sad to leave... and that's always a good sign; if you've stayed too long you're listless and lethargic (even), but we left still smiling and beaming from our experience. I needed it. And, I got exactly what I wanted. Thanks a million, to the Langham!

Great experience overall! I visited for a business event, and the buffet was amazing—everything was delicious, especially the steak. Although I didn’t get to explore much, the hotel had such a lovely ambiance that I’m excited to come back for a relaxing stay next time.

Beautiful, historical hotel in Pasadena

This was my first trip back to the Los Angeles area in 8 years. I decided to splurge and stay at the Langham because I may not be back in the area again for a long time. Of course, I reserved a table for Afternoon Tea as soon as I booked a room over a month before my trip. The Afternoon Tea service was pleasant although the staff seemed shorthanded. The room I chose was a Premier Double in the main building. The room was surprisingly spacious with a generous bathroom and an actual closet to hang your clothes. There’s only one sink, but the bath tub and shower are separated. The room also has a small empty mini-fridge which came in handy. The gardens are beautiful, and it makes you forget that you’re in the middle of a busy metropolitan area. There were a couple of missteps in the room. The shower cubicle had body wash, conditioner, and hand soap. The sink had a bottle of shampoo on it. Were the staff simply refilling the bottles with incorrect liquids where the bottles were or were the bottles simply placed wrong? Both the ‘hand soap’ in the shower and the “shampoo” on the counter were clear and so I couldn’t tell. When I opened the amenity kit, the previous guest had used a portion of it, boxed it up and placed it back on the shelf. Please, if you use the amenity kit, please don’t put it back for the next guest to find - yuck. Lastly, the bedside stand has a couple of easily accessible 3-prong outlets with a USB port. One of the outlets had something stuck where the ground plug goes and so the outlet was useless. Would I stay at the Langham again? A definitive Yes! I would stay here again for the luxury experience and the wonderful staff.

Beautiful but loud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Property is beautiful and staff relatively attentive but there seems to be no insulation between the rooms. We could hear everything on the rooms on either side of us. Impossible to relax or sleep. Made what could have been a great stay very stressful.
