Beautiful hotel, lovely room accommodation and great location…..and that’s where it ends. Food is extortionately expensive, especially in their signature restaurant, The Royce. And they charge resident guests $50 per day for parking-rip off . But here’s the worst of it, this hotel charges extra to use the amenities in the hotel…..that one would think are normally for the use of guests who pay the room rate to stay. When you book a room in a hotel you pay for each night that you’re there based on what the hotel has to offer. At this hotel, unbeknownst to me, the room charge doesn’t entitle you to use the hotel amenities eg the pool, the hotel charges an extra USD$70 per day as a mandated amenities charge, you don’t get to opt in/out….it’s simply billed to you on check out. And it’s taken out of the hefty “security charge” they take from your credit card when you check in, also mandatory. The extra charges are not divulged when you book a room at this hotel, and consumers accept the booking on the basis of the advertised room rate on sites like Booking.com. It’s disingenuous, sly and a rip off. So what you really pay for is the (already hefty) room rate plus $70 each day you stay for amenities that you may or may not use.

If I win the 500mil lottery, I’m moving into this place. It’s really a wonderful place to stay. Clean, pool is great. Not to overcrowded, great for families and kids. Second pool that quite if that’s what you need. Room and bathrooms are beautiful clean and very comfortable. Food is excellent. Steaks were omg ! I love in iowa and they must ship all the good streaks to California. I don’t want to recommend because I want to be able to visit and have open rooms when I need / I want to hoard this gem.

This must have been better as a Ritz Carlton. Simple requests could not be accommodated, the response was that the hotel was booked, so my room could not be cleaned before 10:00 just for one day.

Fantastic Property! Has some issues with Valet and Bellman system. Not often convenient or even useful. Non responsive after expressing dissatisfaction.

As first-time visitors looking for a peaceful, local staycation, my husband and I were incredibly disappointed. For $1,000 a night, we were placed in a first-floor room right in the middle of an active construction zone—something we were never informed about prior to our arrival. To make matters worse, our room was directly across from the service staff area. The heavy door slammed shut roughly every 20 minutes, making it impossible to relax. Then, at exactly 7:00 AM the next morning, the real nightmare began: a relentless parade of delivery trucks and excavators beeping over and over right outside. We were only there for a single night and left feeling completely robbed of a peaceful getaway. Selling a room in a noisy construction zone for top dollar without warning guests is completely unacceptable. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values hospitality and guest comfort.
