Stunning resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Wow! This resort is so beautiful, the grounds are so clean and still taken care of. The staff is so kind, courteous and customer service is their top priority for sure. The resturant on site was pricey but the food was good. The elevators were quick and again everyone so willing to assist and the cleaning was phenomenal. I've stayed at many condos Over the last 25 years and this had been by far the cleanest. Even the floors which are the hardest to clean. Or particular condo 1404 was gorgeous. Cleaning again was great minus the covers on the furniture needed cleaned and more cookware was needed but other then this I can make no complaints. I will reform with the entire family next time! A peaceful, and Beautiful resort.

Another FANTASTIC vacation!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We absolutely LOVE Portofino Island and always look forward to our yearly spring break trip!!! The resort has all of the amenities that you need. We love having an on site restaurant and poolside food/drink options. Buy the Extreme Adventure package to utilize all the wonderful activities such as the jet skis, inflatable waterpark, kayaks, electric bikes, chair & umbrella usage & more. Blake, Patrick, & the entire Adventure Cove team are so wonderful! We look forward to seeing the same faces each year!! They helped us with daily uses of all of the fun stuff, remembered our names, and were always going above and beyond for the resort guests. Mr. Chee is also someone we look forward to seeing each year. He’s always walking around checking on guests and making sure they are happy. We look forward to coming back next year and are so appreciative of such wonderful hospitality! Until next year!! Thank you for another wonderful vacation!!!!! -Lisa McKinney

Horrible service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

All waitresses had horrible attitudes towards me and my family when taking our orders at the pool. Got the extreme pass for activities and everything was booked when trying reserve spots so it was $300 down the drain. Bar kept rejecting my ID even though i was 21.

Good but not totally as expected.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Not exactly what we expected. Beach service and accessibility were great! Pools were overcrowded and rather chilly. The adventure packages must be purchased for the entire stay, we only used the equipment 1 day out of 5 because of the weather, an oversight on my part, we really should have just paid as we went. I would recommend purchasing when you arrive if the weather is going to be decent, and you plan on spending the majority of time at the resort; we did not because there isn't much to do if it's crap weather. Condo was as expected, clean and tidy. Be sure to purchase breakfast items at a grocery as there's not much option on site. There are 2 restaurants and a bar, but they run the same menu at both, and it's a relatively small menu. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place. However, do your research, know your plans, and watch the weather before spending large amounts of $ on something you don't need. Would stay again but not buy into the extras.

Misleading Amenities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I am here as I write this and went back and forth between a 2 and 3. I am really happy with my condo and the staff have been very pleasant and helpful. However, for the money that you pay, I am really disappointed by the reality of the advertised amenities and the amount of people using fairly small common area spaces. The pool area has been a major disappointment. For reference there are 5 towers with approximately 9 units per floor, with 20 floors plus a penthouse. All 5 towers and their families descend on the mail pool area and it’s way too crowded. There are two hot tubs but the entire time we were here they were inundated with kids as well as some inconsiderate adults our entire stay. No exaggeration each hot tub, including the smaller pools at each tower had about 20 people packed in there which was off putting. Would be nice if the staff proactively moved the kids out after a reasonable period of time but they were fairly aggressive and established their turn and outnumbered the adults. My daughter and I tried to play tennis but when we went to the concierge to ask for rackets they were all taken. The amenities seem great but in reality there are too many people here to enjoy them. The food and restaurant situation was underwhelming. Great service, good food but underwhelming ambiance and they use the same menu at both places. The beach is nice but rentals are pricey. The gym is also nice but also really crowded. I felt like there was some false advertising and for the money I spent, I am disappointed.
