We stayed at Grand Deluxe Pool Villa for three nights. Hotel arranged a car service for us (on our own cost), but it was just a van and nothing fancy in contrast of their luxury villas. It was a large place with several dozens of private villas which was divided by a public street, and our villa was located on the other side from the complex with the restaurants, the main swimming pool and the beach. So, we had to cross the street several times everyday under security guards' traffic control. The buildings are all beautifully designed surrounded by a lot of palm trees and living flowers. The night view in the villa complex is very impressive. In the main complex, there are many ponds with lotus flowers and colorful carp, which was breathtaking. There were many young families with children, and I would recommend you use your own private pool if you want to quietly relax with a cocktail, in stead of the main pool. There is nothing around this resort, and you need to eat and drink in this resort everyday. The nearest ATM was 15 minutes away by car, and I recommend you prepare some cash for tipping before you visit this place. There are two restaurants, Asian cuisine and main dining/bar. Breakfast buffet at the main dining was included, and the menu slightly changed everyday. It covers continental breakfast, cereals, Asian food, fruits, fresh waffles and juices. I loved guava juice, but it appeared only on the first morning... ;-< I also loved fried rice, and mixed toppings prepared for Chinese rice porridge such as shrimp and small meat balls with it. What disappointed me A LOT was uncovered warm fruits, and TONS of fruit flies were flying around them. I could not even think about eating fruits although many European and Asian guests did not care and seemed to enjoy eating them. The Asian restaurant provides Asian 'fusion' cuisine, and there are not many Thai dishes, which was another disappointment. I guess Thai food is not popular among guests? The main dinning is literarily by the private beach, and we enjoy seeing the sunset over cocktails every night. There is an attendant on the beach in the day time, and he sets you parasols and get you drinks from the bar. Bring some cash for tipping when you go to the beach. Thai staff (anywhere) prefer cash tips, not tips on your bill slips. What we liked about the mini bar in the room is they have a small milk in the fridge which is very rare. We could enjoy our coffee with real milk in our room right after we woke up everyday. Also they have a mosquito coil in the room, and unfortunately, we found it on our last night there. I recommend you use it to prevent mosquito bites in your room or by the private pool. There are unusually many stairs and steps everywhere in this resort complex, however, I suppose these are what they learned from large tsunami in 2004 to minimize possible damages and protect guests' lives. I cannot complain for that. After all, our experience at Aleenta Resort was excellent although I might personally have higher standard of hygiene and food expectations. Other than those things, this place is beautiful and you can fully relax. Jumping into a private pool from your bedroom is not a usual experience you can easily find.

Absolutely superb location, right on the beach. The villas were excellent, especially as they had own pool. Food was lovely, not ripped off. My only criticism was that the gym was on the small side and the only treadmill was out of order. The shower in the villa took ages to warm up.

In April this year, after a recommendation we decided to spend our 35th wedding anniversary at Aleenta, Phuket. Lets be very clear - from the start we cannot fault the resort location and exquisite food at all the restaurants. The location is sublime. BUT we have been severely let down by management who have basically ignored our requests for compensation. Our daughter gave me a very expensive pair of Spanish hand-made boots which I took off upon arrival and left them in our room. We then travelled to Bangkok. It was then when trying to gain admission to the business class lounge, that I went to put my boots on. I recalled that I had left them in our room at Aleenta. Because I did not have suitable footwear we were not permitted into the business class lounge. When we arrived back in Sydney we immediately commenced calling and emailing the Aleenta Resort in Phuket to locate the boots and organise them being sent back to me. Management continually tried to placate us by saying that we were mistaken, the boots weren't left in the room. During the second phone call to the resort the staff member laughed off the matter and was very dismissive. We informed management in our last email (over a week ago) that if compensation or return of boots was not forthcoming we would post our feelings on trip advisor. To this we have had no response. To say we are disappointed is a gross understatement. POOR SHOW ALEENTA RESORT, PHUKET. We have been left with a bad taste and feel that senior management attached to the Aleenta organisation have completely ignored us. All we asked for was some form of compensation, be that the return of the boots, a small monetary goodwill payment or some offer of future discount at that resort.

Gorgeous hotel, we stayed in a sea view loft room with access to the pool. The bed was so big and very comfortable. There is a pillow menu, we chose a lavender pillow. Don’t expect a large lavender pillow it’s just a little pouch to place onto your pillow to help you to relax and it does work. Breakfast was very good, you are given a menu which looks like a daily newspaper, very cool. There is a buffet breakfast also for you to help yourself. Food at the hotel was very good and presented so well. Staff are all very attentive and friendly. The beach is beautiful. There is a pool but we didn’t use it. Our friends were staying in one of the 3 bedroom villas so we used their private pool. The villas are stunning. The hotel was lovely, we only stayed a couple of nights and that is probably enough for us as there is nothing nearby. You can get a taxi to a couple of restaurants but there is nothing within walking distance. There is a really nice gym, a little boutique and a spa at the hotel. It cost 600 baht return in a taxi to the nearest town, it’s more of a local town not a town with fancy restaurants and bars. If you want a beautiful hotel, totally away from it all to chill and do nothing, this is the hotel for you. Take a book and relax on the stunning beach.

If you are looking for a restful break away from everything, then the Aleenta is a wonderful choice. It is an easy transfer from the airport but still seems miles away from the chaos of Phuket! We had three nights in a deluxe pool villa. These are set across the road from the main hotel (and are newer than the main complex) but still they are very convenient. On the good points: The pool villas are wonderfully spacious and well appointed. There's a good amount of space and every evening there's a turndown service where you get a little sweet treat and a bedtime story note! The outside space is immaculately maintained and the pool is a generous size. The large sliding glass doors from the bedroom to the pool make for a gorgeous view to wake up to. The villas are genuinely private and luxurious. Our outdoor bath had an issue with the tap, but that was fixed very promptly (within half an hour) once I called reception. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The buffet selection was very good but the stand out was the cooked to order menu. There are a variety of cooked breakfasts (e.g. Colombian, Japanese, full English) oat dishes, smoothies and egg dishes. My fiance and I had a different choice every day. I absolutely recommend the Japanese omelette! The main pool is small but not massively used, as most people have private or shared pools with their rooms. The one afternoon we used it, we had no problem getting a lounger. A little buzzer is used to order food and drinks from the bar to the pool which was nice, although I was a bit surprised that the drinks were served in glasses rather than plastic. The prawn tacos were excellent value and the private beach is an absolute dream. It is quiet, clean and there is plenty of space. Things to be improved: The hotel restaurants are far too expensive and limited. They are really not good value. There are now a number of local restaurants within walking distance (10 minutes) which are a third of the price with excellent food and easily found on trip advisor. Each night we saw many other guests from the Aleenta there, so the hotel probably need to up their game with this. The pictures on the hotel website of the Grand Pool Villas showed table and chairs outside. We didn't have these, nor was there the space for them, so I guess that some of the villas are smaller than others. As we were there for a relatively short time this didn't bother me, but if we'd been there for longer and I'd have needed to work or we wanted to eat in the villa I would have enquired about moving. One last point ... there was no bin in the whole villa other than a tiny one in the loo. This may seem a silly point but it got really annoying! Maybe there could be one under the desk?
