Flawless

From the arrival till departure, Amanpuri is flawless. We are Amanjunkies and from all the Aman we visited, Amanpuri stands out. Lovely touch , for our anniversary our room was with baloons and champagne, wow what a surprise. We had the garden pavillon and its spotless, lovely lanai and spacious. Bed is comfy and the housekeepers always refresh the room daily, or everytime we leave they just arrange things and clean. The resort has a lovely sandy beach and the restaurants are all good. The thai restaurant is the best we have tried in Thailand, all the Menu is just so delicious and fresh. The Italian is great as well as the japanese. All outstanding and top quality. Milena the manager is very warm , kind and welcoming,, she makes us feel at home. The waitresses and waiters are all so kind. All the staff are just lovely people. Service is outstanding, this is truly Aman. We love the afternoon tea too. This was one of our best Aman experience. We cant have enough of it. Will come back again. Thank you all Amaopuri staff for this memorable, lovely stay.

The hotel is truly a magical place. The food is fantastic the service kind and attentive, and the beach is divine. A big lager is the state of the rooms in comparison to the price you pay. The bathrooms need an urgent overhaul and the doors are outdated, allowing a lot of different animals to enter. A new problem has emerged as well , the excessive loud party music which comes across from the other side of the hotel until midnight. So in conclusion, new doors better insulation & general investments in the rooms equals to happy guests.

Another Great Aman Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

The 5/5 reviews are spot on. The service, staff, food, and rooms are excellent. I would call the beach the least impressive part of the resort and there are a ton of steps to get down to it (and around the resort in general) but you can take a cart to most parts of the resort if you prefer. We stayed in a Garden Pavilion which is entry level or close to it and it was amazing with some ocean views (#202). The resort is close enough to old town Phuket and the other more touristed areas if you want to see those. Overall another great Aman resort with amazing service.

Beautiful beach & hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

As strange as it sounds for what was actually the original Aman resort, Amanpuri didn't feel like an Aman to me: it doesn't have the same level of intimacy I've come to associate with the brand (it's really quite big, at I think 80+ rooms & villas), and it's not especially remote either - it actually even shares its beach with a neighbouring hotel. So it's not my favourite Aman hotel by a long way, but it's still pretty hard to give it anything less than 5 stars, as it's really a top notch hotel in almost very respect: the beach is fantastic, the hotel is beautiful (though showing its age in some places), and the staff are all extremely friendly and attentive. The food is also excellent. I stayed in rooms 603 and 401, both were nice, but I would I slightly preferred 401 simply because it was more conveniently located relative to the lobby and beach. The hotel was nice enough to upgrade me to a higher room category, but the list price for these rooms was very pricy for a hotel in Thailand. A few small complaints: very uncomfortable angular bathtubs, laundry isn't included in the price unlike many other Amans, and the room snacks / fruit plate could be a lot better.
