Anantara Phuket Villas in Phuket, Thailand

Phuket may be one of the world’s premier beach destinations, but staying at Anantara Phuket Villas is like having a private slice of the island. On a well-manicured section of Mai Khao Beach, each self-sustaining villa unfolds into at least 600 square feet of living space. Tropical breezes flow through an open-air contemporary design highlighted by bamboo accents and Southern Thai exoticism. Most luscious is the aqua-tiled private pool just two strides from the bed.

Lounge on your sunny daybed with a plate of fresh mangosteen, papaya and dragon fruit. Cycle through coconut groves past the Sino-Portuguese mansions that line Phuket Town’s historic district, stopping to sample market treats and to marvel at ancient temples. Go for a boat ride to the Similan Islands to dive among well-preserved coral reefs in aquamarine waters. Dine on Thai fusion tapas in a restaurant suspended atop a Banyan tree before retiring with a bottle of wine from your villa’s private cellar.

Stunning resort. Luxurious touches everywhere. Incredible rooms with the most amazing pools and bathtubs. Anantara is such a special and luxurious property where every guest can find peace and contentment. The main pool is very special too, with sun beds slightly positioned in the pool and direct views to the sea. Games are available and newspaper summaries of the day in a variety of languages. F&B is spectacular with our favorites being the pool bar, the tree house and sea, fire and salt. All a must. Improvement areas - the kids club is too small and basic, the tree house should offer happy hour too. I know the pool bar has a happy hour too but the night we went maintenance was taking place so there was no happy hour and the bar was closed. We went to the tree house and we were the only people there all evening and I believe that's a reflection of happy hours being offered in the majority of hotel bars but still not here. Stay here and if you don't definitely visit the F&B offerings.

Stayed here with my husband on our anniversary. The property is very nice. We stayed in the lagoon view pool villa, the room and pool were both very nice however the view of the lagoon want not really worth paying the extra amount. Staff were very nice and friendly and food was very good. There's a variety of restaurants in the neighboring hotel too. There isn't much of a beach and the hotels location is very far from the city. If your looking for a luxurious romantic hideaway though this is perfect, no ones going to disturb you. Thanks to the staff of Anantara :)

I recently spent four nights at this resort and had the most amazing experience. I stayed in the Lagoon Pool Villa #22. The resort is perfect if you want all the comforts and pampering of a major resort, but still want the privacy and tranquility of an exotic destination - like having an island all to yourself. The rooms are stocked with modern decoration, furniture, amenities and technology. Our wifi was great in the room, we were getting like 40Mbps up and down. The bed is comfy and has a nice privacy curtain around it to make you feel like royalty. The pool outside is small, maybe half or 2/3 the size of a typical home pool in the U.S., but enough to swim in some short laps. The shallow end is 1M deep and the deep end is 1.5M. The bath beside the pool is very romantic and they include several bath salts in the room to pour in and get a nice aroma therapy session as well. There is a small nook beside the pool with a nice day bed and refrigerator and wine fridge. Plenty of candles in the room to set up a nice romantic evening by the pool. The villas are private so, for the most part, you don't have to worry about that. I spent most the time in my birthday suit which resulted in an excellent tan. Although, a member of the cleaning staff did walk in once when my girl and I were mid-stroke but, that was my fault. If you put the Do Not Disturb plaque on the outer door they will leave you be. The morning breakfast at the Sala is pretty good, with an omelet station, a nice mix of western and eastern dishes, great bread selection and fruits. It sits on the lagoon so you get a great view if you sit outside. Plenty of fish and ducks around to make you feel like you are out in the wild. The Dinner by Design was fantastic. We had a very romantic setting. Although we weren't able to do the beach side sunset dinner because of weather, the backup location selected as the Wine Tasting Room was very romantic and very private. The beverage manager Jai was OUTSTANDING. He had a real passion for his work and he knows his wines well. My girl likes sweet wines (I normally do not) and he recommended a fantastic wine that even I liked. It was the best wine I had ever had. The staff at this hotel is very friendly and very attentive to your needs. We also booked a 90 minute aroma therapy spa treatment which was very good. The only thing I would have liked better is if they put us in a room that looked out over the lagoon but the staff was very good and we had an amazing experience. The beach is beautiful. Although its not white sands, it was not rocky or anything. The only issue here was the waves were too powerful to swim and they had a sign blocking it off. But honestly, when you're staying in a pool villa you almost don't need the beach. The laundry service was excellent and I received my laundry the same day even though I didn't give it to them early. The only two things I would say negative about this hotel are that it is pretty far away from any towns, so you have to drive 40minutes - one hour to get to a town for shopping, etc. The other is that the car pickup service could have been a little quicker, but I think that was because of the airport parking/pickup rules. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect. All in all we had a fantastic time here. It was a great place to spend some quality romantic time with someone where you feel like you're getting away from it all, but still being pampered by a full, knowledgeable staff at the same time.

An exceptional hotel. Real luxury. They take care of even the smallest detail. All the staff were extraordinarily friendly and attentive, always anticipating our needs. The food, at breakfast and in the different restaurants, equally very good and varied. Breakfast extraordinary. The Luxury Vila room, with private pool, great.

I have been there on begining of June 2016. This hotel is best for honeymoon couples. Everthing was great except wavy sea. But you can take a beach walk, that was so romantic. At Mai Khao beach sea was so wavy everyday so we could not swim even a day. Located far away from the central. If you would like to make city tour you should rent a car for all day.
