Phuket may be one of the world’s premier beach destinations, but staying at Anantara Phuket Villas is like having a private slice of the island. On a well-manicured section of Mai Khao Beach, each self-sustaining villa unfolds into at least 600 square feet of living space. Tropical breezes flow through an open-air contemporary design highlighted by bamboo accents and Southern Thai exoticism. Most luscious is the aqua-tiled private pool just two strides from the bed.

The hotel service is absolutely amazing! Our butler Joy is such a warm and lovely lady. She is extremely patient and replies to our messages around the clock at any time. The hotel has a gorgeous, relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel totally comfortable. Our room is spotlessly clean, with every corner cleaned with great care. This trip left us with wonderful memories, and we really hate to leave. We will absolutely come back in the future and can’t wait to meet Joy again!

We just had a great 6 days at Anantara Mai Khao. Feeling so relaxed I will just to the review in bullet points: POSITIVES: - Food: Probably the greatest food I've had in this type of resort ever. Super consistent, everything is great. Normally pizza by the pool is uneventful, this one was fantastic. They clearly have a master baker and patissier as deserts were always great. We went with the Half Board and the options and quality were exceptional. 10/10 - Room: The 2 Bedroom suite is perfect for a family of four - Gym: There are at least 2, always empty, great equipment - Staff: Super attentive, polite, always smiling - We were allowed late check-out which was a great gesture - Location is super convenient, next to the airport (but you will not hear it) and close to a strip mall with some stores and restaurants NEGATIVES: - The construction/renovation going on means a fair amount of noise and some areas not being accessible. One of the pools by the works is open but really noisy. It's the one with the giant inflatables the kids wanted to use, so it was a shame. - Housekeeping... First day we arrived we noticed a big coffee stain on the floor of the corridor leading up to the room. Six days later, it's still there. Same goes for a big, rather obvious cigar butt... been in plain sight for 6 days. The corridor only has 6 rooms and hotel does not seem busy, so housekeeping must have walked past both a dozen times and done nothing. Also they left two dirty cloths in our room, so a bit more attention to detail would be nice. Would have no issue coming back to the hotel as soon as renovations are done, it's a great place with great staff and amazing food! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g52640-d2416888-r1062242997-Samarkand_Steakhouse-Feasterville_Pennsylvania.html#

I have visited Phuket several times over the years, and this was one hotel I had always dreamed of staying at. As someone who regularly stays at luxury hotels around the world and writes detailed reviews to help fellow luxury travelers make informed choices, I stayed at various Anantara properties during my trip to Thailand. First impressions matter, and this property gets them absolutely right. Arriving at the reception area, with its tranquil lily pond and calming surroundings, instantly set the tone for a relaxing and luxurious stay. The welcome was warm, genuine, and efficient. As we were escorted to our villa, I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful landscaping throughout the resort. The entire property feels like a high-end wellness retreat, with lush greenery and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. The villa itself was exceptional. Spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly spacious, it featured a large bedroom, a comfortable sitting area, a private pool with outdoor seating, an outdoor shower, a dedicated luggage space, and a stunning bathroom. Natural light flooded the villa throughout the day, creating a bright and uplifting environment. Every detail reflected luxury and comfort. The air conditioning worked perfectly—something that is greatly appreciated in Thailand’s tropical humidity. One of the biggest advantages of this resort is its location. It is conveniently close to Phuket Airport, making it an excellent choice either at the beginning or the end of a Thailand holiday. The surrounding area offers much more than many luxury resorts do. Within walking distance, you’ll find Starbucks, Turtle Village with its boutique shops, restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, and a 7-Eleven. Several luxury hotels are also located nearby, giving guests plenty of dining options outside the resort. You never feel isolated or restricted to eating and spending all your time within the hotel grounds. The beach is beautiful and stretches for miles. Although the sea was rough during our stay due to rainy weather, it was still stunning to look at. Fans of The White Lotus will also enjoy spotting some of the filming locations nearby. Breakfast was very good, offering plenty of choice and quality. I also enjoyed browsing the resort’s boutique shop, which is definitely worth a visit. The resort offers plenty to do, including a lovely pool area, an active zone for fitness enthusiasts, and even a small farm that adds to its charm. I had long wanted to experience the Anantara brand while in Thailand, and it certainly did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a resort where you can truly switch off, be pampered, and experience luxury at its finest, this is a property I would highly recommend. A stay here feels less like a hotel visit and more like a chance to experience the very best of Thai hospitality.
