Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao in Phuket, Thailand

Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao is a new addition to Phuket’s resort scene, yet it’s far from the crowds in touristy Patong. Located on a tranquil and hawker-free section of Mai Khao, Thailand’s longest beach, the Vacation Club is ideal for independent-minded vacationers who love the idea of picking up a bottle of wine to enjoy on their own veranda as the sun sets. Apartments are spacious – they start at 300 square feet – and are sharply outfitted in dark hardwoods and crisp linens. Myriad activities and a full-service spa round out the resort aspect.

Start the day with brisk bike ride across the Thai countryside. Take to the sea in a kayak in Sirinath National Park. Cool off under a waterfall. Relish the sounds of the jungle. Stop for dinner ingredients at the local roadside market – the more colorful, the better. Try your hand at cooking a traditional coconut curry in your apartment’s stainless steel kitchen, ocean glittering in the distance. Need direction? Sign up for a class at the resort’s signature cooking school.

Good location for relax, in this area have all 5 star hotel like Marriott, Sala and more brand to relax also here have 2 Anantara, Residence with 2 pool bed rooms its good for us to relax with friend, just a few thing staff have to be more polite and act like work in 5 star promises so please remind your team even our friend is Chinese or Thai people standard of service must be higher than we expect.

One of the best vacation I had with my family. Suitable for kids and senior citizen as well. Services are great and prompt, villa quality is excellent. Definitely will plan another trip there for holidays.

Fantastic resort with beautiful pool villas. Stayed for 4D3N in the private pool villa for 2 pax. Lovely lounge and kitchen attached. Bedroom was separate with huge bathroom (as large as a hotel room!!) and best of all, a private pool to yourself, heaven or what? Only minus point was that there was no beach front. Need to walk a bit (via the Anantara Phuket Villas, the other property) to get access to the beach. The buggy would take you there on request so can save on walk. The breakfast at the CHAAM restaurant was fabulous, plenty of choices and also good quality. I looked through their ala carte menu for lunch and dinner and the food do look tantalising. There is also a pizza place in the resort, prices are ok, minimum THB290 for a pizza which i thought was reasonable (but I did not see the size!). The facilities were first class as it should be with Anantara's rates. However, those who choose this resort should be warned that it is really remote and is on an area meant for honeymooners with nothing to do. Self sufficient in a way with the Turtle Village across the road and now recently the Mai Khao Plaza but that's it. No shopping, no nightlife so it can be rather boring for those who are looking for party, booze and all things Thailand is famous for... Food was limited too but adequate with a couple of decent restaurants but be prepared to pay more (but still cheaper than the resort prices). However, I trust people who can afford this place could very well afford the food which in my opinion is not too pricey but don't compare what you can get in Phuket town. Maybe getting a rented car could be a good option as transportation (although plenty of choices) was expensive i.e. THB1,000 one way to Phuket town or to Patong Beach. That would easily set you back THB2,000 before you can do anything!!
