Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao in Phuket, Thailand
Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao is a new addition to Phuket’s resort scene, yet it’s far from the crowds in touristy Patong. Located on a tranquil and hawker-free section of Mai Khao, Thailand’s longest beach, the Vacation Club is ideal for independent-minded vacationers who love the idea of picking up a bottle of wine to enjoy on their own veranda as the sun sets. Apartments are spacious – they start at 300 square feet – and are sharply outfitted in dark hardwoods and crisp linens. Myriad activities and a full-service spa round out the resort aspect.
Start the day with brisk bike ride across the Thai countryside. Take to the sea in a kayak in Sirinath National Park. Cool off under a waterfall. Relish the sounds of the jungle. Stop for dinner ingredients at the local roadside market – the more colorful, the better. Try your hand at cooking a traditional coconut curry in your apartment’s stainless steel kitchen, ocean glittering in the distance. Need direction? Sign up for a class at the resort’s signature cooking school.

Reviews for Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao
My wife and I stayed at the Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao for a week. The whole thing was great, but Nu (I think that’s how his name is spelled) who is the restaurant manager was exceptional. He went out of his way to tell us about all of the dishes that were there, gave us great recommendations for things to do, and one night when I was eating alone Because my wife wasn’t feeling well he came back to my table with a to go box of white rice and a bunch of Thai herbs to make her tea in the room. I would have given this resort high marks anyway, but Nu in the Chaam restaurant made it feel special.
First, we'd like to clarify that the property we stayed in was the vacation Club resort (aka: apartment resort). The villas are reserved only for Anantara members. The vacation club was very impressive for us. We booked as a one week getaway through Interval International. Had access to all the amenities (less the villas). All the staff went above and beyond to make our first start at this resort a memorable one. We didn't do any excursions during our stay here, as we had already booked quite a few during ie previous stay at another neighbouring resort. We did inquire about a trip to the Tiger Cave Temple in a neighboring town named Krabi. However, there was no excursion for that - and we were informed that most people from Krabi take excursions to Phuket... oh well. Complimentary shuttle service on a regular schedule would be nice - especially during hot days or inclement weather. We were informed that there was taxi service for 500 Baht/hour that could assist us with excursions nearby. However, we had to book a minimum of four hours. When we come back next time, maybe we'll do a few days in Krabi in order to save more time and money.

Great service, great property and good food especially the thai milk tea! Thai service is always impeccable. Receptionists were super helpful recommending us restaurants near by and helping us arrange taxi. The hotel is really far away from everything, nearly 45 mins cab ride to the city where you can reach restaurants and beach clubs. But the property itself is really well maintained and I feel totally fine to just hang around the resort. There are also lots of activities which are free for guests to sign up like yoga lessons, cooking class, etc. The pool is amazing and theres a bar so its super relaxing to just swim over to the bar and grab a drink & bill the room. Drinks aren't too expensive either( between 250-400 baht) We got upgraded to the two bedroom apartment and it was amazing! My apartment was hugeee!!! Could easily fit at least 6 people in it. Only complain is there are mosquitoes inside the apartment even when air con is on!! we got biten for two nights and had to escape to the spare room. Everyting else was amazing. We got the room at a really cheap rate , unbelievably cheap rate as the hotel was trying to sell their vacation package to us. We had to attend a 1.5 hour one-on-one sales pitch in order to get a cheap rate. They introduced us to this package where you get points every year after paying a lump sum of money and can visit any anantara and affiliated hotels for the next 27 years. We didnt purchase the package at the end cause we didnt think we would want to be restrained to this hotel chain when we consider our holidays in the future. However we met some family by the pool and they love this package - i think it makes more sense when you have a family and have more planned holidays. Nevertheless despite the location being REALLY FAR from everything ( except the airport only 25 mins away) , i had an enjoyable stay and the staffs were all very very nice. Highly recommended , and very family friendly with kids also! You can also order a buggy to bring you around the resort if you're too lazy to walk .

We stayed here through a connection with Hilton Grand Vacation Club and got a 2 bedroom apartment. When we walked in, we were a bit disappointed. The room was nice enough but looked a little run down. It wasn't quite what we were expecting having come all the way from the U.S. so we asked if a villa was available and it was so we moved and that was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend the villa instead of the apartment if you can! We could have spent every minute enjoying our pool!

This hotel is nice however a few small details could have made the stay better. We stayed t the Marriott, next door on our last visit and would book there again next time. Small items like a better equipped kitchen, complimentary water daily, and access to all pools make you feel appreciated as a guest.
