Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao in Phuket, Thailand

Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao is a new addition to Phuket’s resort scene, yet it’s far from the crowds in touristy Patong. Located on a tranquil and hawker-free section of Mai Khao, Thailand’s longest beach, the Vacation Club is ideal for independent-minded vacationers who love the idea of picking up a bottle of wine to enjoy on their own veranda as the sun sets. Apartments are spacious – they start at 300 square feet – and are sharply outfitted in dark hardwoods and crisp linens. Myriad activities and a full-service spa round out the resort aspect.

Start the day with brisk bike ride across the Thai countryside. Take to the sea in a kayak in Sirinath National Park. Cool off under a waterfall. Relish the sounds of the jungle. Stop for dinner ingredients at the local roadside market – the more colorful, the better. Try your hand at cooking a traditional coconut curry in your apartment’s stainless steel kitchen, ocean glittering in the distance. Need direction? Sign up for a class at the resort’s signature cooking school.

Nice ambiance and sprawling compound´╝îlovely place for family to either relax or participate in the resort activities. We had a two bedroom suite and it was superb in condition and comfort. Meals are not a problem as just opposite the vacation club are a number of f&b. Two things to note, beach is across the road off another of Anantara property and staffs can improve a little more on friendliness, we seen better service in other resorts. But we didn't have any problem so it was an enjoyable experience overall. Anantara is one of the best properties we have stayed in, will definitely recommend čĹŹ

Stayed here for three nights and find the location is not far away from the airport but it's far away from patong beach. The hotel provides shutter bus with a service charge if you want to go. The room and facilities are nice and comfortable. The kids activities and restaurant are worth a visit. Service are also up to the level of this brand. Staff are friendly and readily to help if needed.

Everything is perfect except the weather when we visited. The staff are excellent, the resort amenities and features are clean and well-maintained and the resort offers different activities to all guests every day. Breakfast buffet is excellent and their Seafood Dinner buffet is a must try. There are restaurants, shops and a mini-grocery store across the Resort.

Anantara Vacation club has all the facilities that a resort has to offer, the staff were magnificent and the Tour desk gave great advise and assistance when we wanted to explore Phuket. A special thankyou to Tony & Taew who gave great advise and tips on the many wonderful tours that we as a family made whilst on vacation. The swimming pool was great with the pool side bar just relaxing whilst having a drink after a nice swim. A special thankyou to the pool barman (Mr Tien ) who always served us promptly and great service. His humour and story telling was enjoyable to listen too. If you ever want to get around Phuket call local Taxi driver Mr James Maliwan , who was always prompt and courteous when he took us around Phuket. Phone: 085 047 7056. I can recommend his service and rates charges are fair and reasonable. But overall , all staff were great and I would recommend a family holiday to anyone to stay at this resort

the quality of the service and accommodation at the Anantara Vacation Club was poor after we booked via information given from Interval International. This is not an exclusive resort. I should have taken a photo from the pool area to show the box like apartments that resembled a prison. We were very disappointed on arrival and I telephoned Interval for support on arrival as the resort staff were not listening to our request for basic items. The apartment did not even have enough towels for a party of 5. We had booked and paid for 6 people even though only 5 travelled. Not even a kitchen towel to dry dishes with as there was no dishwasher. We knew we had a limited kitchen however we had 4 glasses, basic of crockery and limited cooking items The fabric on sofa upholstery was tired and grubby, there were oil stains on the cushions and the floor was dirty too. There were ants all over the kitchen. Food drip marks from previous tenants down the kitchen doors and hand prints from ? who on the woodwork. I did contact the Anantara reception and their response was quite extraordinary they suggested that based on the information they were given by Interval International several items were placed on the restricted items list. It appeared everything had been taken out of the apartment the resort staff thought we were not entitled too. The following day I spoke to a duty manager called Suri and he confirmed this was the arrangement with Interval International that we were given a basic apartment only. I had to point out to him that the accommodation should be for 6 people, 4 privately. This was not the case we had no bed sofa in the lounge, no bed linen for it and limited towels. We also had no DVD, alarm clocks, CD players or anything electronic other than a TV in the lounge area. The duty manager Suri said what do you want? So I said I am not asking for complimentary beverages and luxury items such as bathrobes but a kitchen towel and insect killer would help. We were then given a towel and can of insect spray. I was made to feel a nuisance. Much later in the day 4 bathrobes arrived. We only saw the maid service once in the week and they came in a removed our fifth towel when they did a towel change, when I called reception to ask for another one I was told I would be charged. I had to insist on a fifth towel and point out I should not have to pay for a towel. Their policy is to charge for everything even water. This list also said 50% off breakfast which sounds good but the regular price for a breakfast was in excess of £25 per person so I do not personally consider this a bargain at all. There was no information booklet in the unit at all unlike other resorts. The beach is about 10-15 minutes walk away. This resort has no spa or sauna on site. They have a sister hotel across the road which is called Anantara Phuket Villas and it is run totally separately. This is an isolated resort with a small but expensive supermarket nearby.
