Reviews for Andara Resort & Villas
First off, let me start by saying that we were not supposed to be staying here. We were booked into a newer and far more costly hotel and then changed our minds because of the reviews. The hotel did not disappoint. The accommodation is fabulous. If you have more than 2 children then you are fully aware that hotels are a no go zone and this place ticks the boxes. Clean and safe. The 'kids club' was too old for my older children who wanted to get out of the sun for a few days so that staff moved a tennis table and wii into the Yoga Studio so that they could enjoy themselves. Who does that?! Anyway, the level of customer service is fantastic and while there is only one restaurant we ate there every night (except for one night where we found the out of hotel fine dining experience three times more costly and half as good.) The downside? No beach access but we didn't want this so not really a downside. The rooms closest to the road can be noisy but the accommodation more than makes up for inconvenience and it is not a 'rowdy' area. The manager arranged a private boat hire company for a half day cruise which was out of this world. The spa treatments were the best I've ever had (world wide... and that says a lot.). Would we go again? In a heart beat.

We had a very enjoyable short stay at the Andara. The hotel is stunning. The grounds are wonderful and we had a super views from our suite. The rooms themselves are beautifully designed and very spacious. We loved the main pool area and made little use of our private pool, maybe because it was very cold water. At no point did the hotel seem busy which was nice. Service was, on the whole, very good. At times, it maybe felt like it was an effort. When staying at a luxury hotel there are some fundamentals and attention to detail that you may come expect. We found Andara lacking in a handful of these and were left with a slight disappointment on departure. My daughter summed it up nicely: "it was sort of good". We all thought breakfast was excellent and there was a good selection of quality food on offer. It is a short walk to Kamala beach or there is always a shuttle service on hand. We really loved Kamala itself, the restaurants and bars on offer. The beach appeared a lot more crowded than our experience at Bang Tao. The shallow depth of the water was ideal for the children. Andara have a set of loungers with attendants at the far side of the beach (with free shuttle). This is a nice touch. We found the staff at the beach very attentive and helpful: blew up inflatables for us and provided buckets/spades for our daughters. We are glad we chose Andara but will look to an alternative hotel next time.

Things have changed a bit since I stayed here previously Rooms are great! Pool is lovely! Service is nice. poolside food is really pretty average, walk down the road to Kamal town and have great food at TASTE kamala this is how great resort poolside food should be! Poolside food at this hotel used to be great...dull menu, average food and not the greatest service really....needs a kick! The new years eve banquet was superb and all involved should be congratulated what a great party, great decor, music (DJ was fantastic) food great ! The beach club is no more (Sadly) , the shuttle to get back and forth to the beach is messy and unreliable, the boys working on the beach with hotel t shirts on are rude, lazy and have no interest in what they are doing, and the food on offer here is very average, so sadly this reflects on the whole hotel......all just not as it should be.... in fact so disappointing I am not sure I would go back here.

It's the 3rd time we spend between 7 and 10 nights in this very high level resort. This year, we arrived quite late in the evening and were told that in dispite of our special request to get as the years before, a very quiet room situated on the very top of the hill, there was no other room available than the closest one to the road, highly frequented and noisy. We had nothing other choice to accept but insisted to change room on the next day, what we got to our entire satisfaction. What is for me not as good as before is the service. The room is cleaned very late (around 12 or 1 pm) and there's no evening bed turnover, what I think is a must in a hotel of this category and price (around 1000 $/night). Also, the bed linen were never changed after 7 nights... The good news is the breakfast buffet which became a bit bigger.

Wow! What an experience - a fantastic way for our extended family to celebrate our son's 18th birthday in a wonderful resort staying in a 'to die for' 4 bedroom pool villa with a view to match. Everything about this resort is first class but in my opinion it is the seamless, friendly and relaxed guest experience which gives this place its top rating. Our villa had the wow factor in terms of its space, layout and comfort and made it hard to leave, however we equally enjoyed the hotel experience at the beach, spa and the main pool. The staff were lovely - always willing to go the extra mile, particularly the buggy drivers who were prompt and courteous on our many trips down for foot massage in the nearby Kemala town! We had a wonderful 10 days and didn't want to leave. Thank you GM Daniel for making our stay so special. ps. can you please put a spin bike in your wonderful gym!! We will be back for sure!
