Reviews for Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket
Please tell us more At arrival, the lobby setting and room decor was bit outdated I thought, and the mosquitos in the cove was very unpleasant but other than that our experience at the Centara Grand was wonderful. People were very nice and accommodating and your spa was world class! We tried other spas for curiosity but spa and the therapist at Centara Grand was far better than others in Phuket. Our flight was at 2:00 AM so we were homeless for a while but you kept our luggage let us use the shower at the gym. That was so thoughtful of Centara Grand. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

Very poor experience for a 5 star hotel. Nobody speaks english correctly and they say yes to everything without understanding what you want to say, if you are a spanish visitor they treat you very poorly and differently from the russian tourists. We had many problems and do not recommend this hotel. There was a virus of gatroenteritis in the hotel and nobody advised us on this issue, they do not inform you. We discovered there was this problems because se started to feel bad. No communication between the reception and the restaurant, they created a hassel around an issue that was not correct. We we on full board spending a lot of money and they didn't let us have lunch on the last day because they insisted that we didn't have the lunch included when YES we did. They made us go to reception, speak with the manager, loose time and finally to say that we were correct and we were right and YES we did have the meal included. Very poor communication and not worth it at all. Very dissapointed, but they answer to the email we sent to the manager saying all the problem we had by saying hope to see you again. Not even with a discount or some special treatment.

My sister organized a destination wedding in Phuket and booked everyone rooms at Centara. There was about 25 people in our group and I would say 30% got very sick at some point during their stay there with what we think is maybe food poisoning. I got an upset stomach, but I wasn’t as sick as many of the people in my group. Aside from that, the hotel was nice, the beach is nice, the breakfast buffet was nice(although we SUSPECT that’s what was getting everyone sick because it’s the only place that everyone that was sick ate at), and the other restaurants had good food too. My only other real issue with the hotel was that they charge for EVERYTHING, even WiFi. And it was expensive. I understand that all of Phuket is becoming expensive but it just seemed ridiculous to pay the same price for things in Phuket that I would at home in Los Angeles. The big tip for this resort is to buy drinks from the store to keep in your room and bring down to the pool and eat lunch at the restaurant on the beach that’s right next to the hotel. They have good food and it’s waaaay cheaper than the hotel restaurants.

When we arrived, they overbooked the hotel and we had to be downgraded to a lesser room type. They offered us free breakfast and the difference in price for the inconvenience, we were disappointed, but sometimes that happens. The fitness class schedule on their website was outdated, I got an updated schedule from the front desk but when I arrived for a 45 minute class, it ended after only 20 minutes without any explanation why. There were obviously some negative things that happened during our stay, but overall our visit was pleasant. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was AMAZING, beach was clean, rooms are spacious with beautiful ocean views. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again or recommend to a friend.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Centara Grand! There was many facilities (pool, spa, lazy river, beach) for people of all ages to enjoy. It was very relaxing and easy. The breakfast was one of the best buffets we have ever had and our ocean view room was fantastic. The only critique we have is that the service at dinner wasn't great, it took a while for the servers to take your order or give you a bill. Also, they don't offer free water which was slightly annoying because the water can't be drank or used from faucets in Thailand.
