First the positives : the views from the property were just stunning and the pool in our Villa was wonderful. They also have a good kids club and games room and the staff there is attentive and friendly. However we were quite disappointed with our stay and the service and will not be returning. It was just not at par with other luxury hotels at similar price points in Thailand. The property and Villa show signs of aging. The food was very disappointing. They have 2 restaurants in the hotel but the Thai restaurant (which is good) is only open for dinner. For lunch only the Italian restaurant operates, where the options are limited and food is very average. We were looking forward to the Como shambala cuisine but had just 3-4 dishes available at the restaurants. Breakfast was also not at par with what similar hotels offer. Housekeeping service not great either. We had to book our daily room cleaning and turndown service in advance. Poor attention to detail. The worst for us though was the service staff. While there were a few smiling faces, many at the property and restaurants were unpleasant and curt. We had a dedicated butler but she did not end up being of much help. We asked for reservations at popular Phuket restaurants and she told us they are unavailable or closed. When we called ourselves, we found this was incorrect and managed to get all the reservations we wanted. Overall we felt the service standards are attention to detail were quite lacking for a luxury hotel at this price point (our 2 bedroom villa was US$1700 a night).

Excellent stay overall for 2 nights 1) Great wellness area - kept clean, child free and always well staffed 2) Physically property is very large, and even though there are lots of guests, never full 3) Children recreation lounge kept 13 / 10yr old busy throughout and off our hands, good for adults for 1-2 hours too 4) Most important, a fantastic room upgrade and very spacious. Comfortable bed, great views Minor points that didnt detract from the break 1) No room turndown second night, no extra water provided 2) restaurant food offering was only decent and expensive for what was provided 3) wasnt clear if minibar was or wasnt free for the first night - so we left it

The rooms were a bit dated especially the bathrooms and the king sized bed in our room had two heavy glass lamps just hanging overhead just beside the pillow so that someone sitting at the head of the bed would hit their heads on the lamps when they rose from a seated position . Fortunately there was no serious injury to my husband when he did it .. twice Apart from those two negative points , the breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide choice available, the view amazing and lots of activities organised A plus point was when we booked the transport to and from the hotel from Como . A slight glitch on arrival as the person meeting us had to deal with five large groups besides us , but made up for it by meeting us and taking us through the check in , golf bag drop all the way to the departure gate when we met her again on our departure , excellent service thank you!

Compliments and thanks to our wonderful butler Time! He was extremely efficient, helpful and knowledgeable and gave us very good suggestions on activities and outings that we could join. He looked after our family very well and is a real credit to the hotel. Well done Time!

Going back to COMO felt like revisiting a favorite place; after enjoying Bhutan, we naturally picked COMO for our Phuket trip. Despite a rough start at check-in when our villa wasn't ready as promised, we kept our holiday mood alive. Thankfully, Haze, our butler, made up for it with his kindness, making sure we had a great time.We didn't get to enjoy our villa fully because the staff didn't explain all the cool stuff we could do there ( like barbecue night by poolside, sun downer party etc ) But the food at the restaurants was delicious, and the views were stunning. Our kids had a blast at Play COMO, thanks to the super-friendly staff ( especially Wa ) who made them feel special.The spa was nice, but we felt it was too pricey compared to other places. Overall, COMO Phuket is in a great spot and has awesome amenities, but it's a bit expensive for what you get.
