The Naka Phuket in Phuket, Thailand
The only thing that rivals the natural beauty surrounding The Naka Phuket is the architecture designed to enhance it. The resort is stunning – so stunning that it won Best New Hotel in Wallpaper’s 2014 Design Awards – and its mountainous location on the west side of Phuket is far away from city lights. Here the ocean glimmers through the seemingly endless glass expanse of the minimally designed villas, where teak, granite and concrete give them a cool, industrial feel.
Lay in bed and order breakfast – with a view like this, you’re in no hurry to get up. Take a dip in your private plunge pool while listening to the waves crash softly below. Wander through the nearby woods and reward your efforts with a cocktail in the warm sand. Dine on fiery Thai red curry in a restaurant whose décor is just as rich.

Reviews for The Naka Phuket
This hotel is absolutely stunning, I especially love how interconnected it is with nature surrounding it. The trees, the little gardens around villas, all perfect. The service was somewhat inconsistent: We did not always get our room cleaned until a very late afternoon after we made a call and ask for it; we also had to ask three times for a baby crib, that was too small for our toddler, to be taken away. Everyone in the hotel was super nice though so in the end it did not matter too much. What did matter and what I want to ask the management to take very seriously is this: the water jetski. Now I know their rental is not operated by the resort. But the resort definitely should try and do something about it. They are super noisy and extremely dangerous. Most of the guests who rent the jetski fly with them top speed by the beach. If you go swimming when someone is renting the jetski, you have to be on the lookout non-stop to make sure you don't get killed. I had to stand up and waive a couple of times to make sure the person on the jetski saw me. I then noticed that most guests would go swimming to the sea only when there was noone renting the jetski. Otherwise it was simply too scary. Forget about swimming too far to the sea, forget about carefully floating and relaxing, forget about letting kids be on their own and forget about enjoying a quiet beach. There are no buoy signs in the sea that would prevent the jetski flying too near the beach. In my opinion it is just a matter of time before someone gets killed. Please, management, act now!
Beautiful resort with excellent service and gorgeous pool villa rooms. They even offer daily activities like pilates, and the complimentary mini bar especially was a lovely touch. Bit of a trek from place to place within the resort grounds but the friendly shuttle service certainly helped. Could not fault.

If you don’t mind climbing a few steps to get to a room with a spectacular view then this is the right hotel for you! We stayed at the Naka for 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer. We had a pool villa which was clean, spacious and supplied with a free mini bar. There was always plenty of space at the main pool with it’s peaceful and relaxing vibe. The staff were polite and helpful the only downfall is a taxi to Patong is 600baht.

many friends and family have recommended the hotel after they were all amazed with their villas & the fabulous views, that I happened to see in their pictures. Last month I finally booked a couple of nights there, same category villa (Seaview pool villa), but unfortunately our villa didn't 100% meet our expectations. A bit rundown inside, with door gaping and unpolished wooden furnisher. The view was actually a partial sea view. We were accommodated on the west wing, and apparently this is not the Wing you want to be unless it's an ocean front villa. Other villas on the East wing have much better undisturbed view of the sea. The pool beds of the villa are a bit uncomfortable, and a net should really be placed below the trees looming in the villa because otherwise the yard and your private pool get super filled with leaves & those black sticky fruits. Otherwise, the hotel is perfect in every single way. Bed is too comfortable, room amenities & facilities are very good quality, shuttle service that's very prompt, Very delicious and variable breakfast, super friendly and helpful stuff, the beach area & the main pool is a piece of paradise, there are some kayaks which I am not sure if they're for free or to be rented, but I was too relaxed to bother honestly. I'd definitely stay there again and again, and I'll just stress to stay in an east wing villa or just book an oceanfront one.

We loved it! 6 days doing basically nothing but relaxing and it was just perfect. The place is beautiful, with all the villas climbing on the hill, perfectly integrated in the landscape. We had a villa on the beach level: these also have a private swimming pool, which is a great addition and very convenient if you want to have privacy and spare even those few steps to the common pool or to the sea. The villas are very nicely fitted with modern furniture, and everything you'd need: large LCD TV, coffee machine, a jacuzzi bathtub. a large and good breakfast, room service is great (service is overall great), we highly recommend the BBQ on the beach: you can basically choose your fish, meet or vegetable and you can have a healthy and tasty moonlight dinner. All in all, a great stay.
