The Pavilions Phuket in Phuket, Thailand

Moved by the raw beauty of the landscape, husband and wife team Gordon and Daniele Oldham built The Pavilions, Phuket with the intention of creating the ultimate environment for couples who want privacy in Asia’s most popular beach destination. Stylish Zen-inspired interiors in bold shades of black, white and red evoke romance, softened by indigenous fabrics and local art. A 40-foot private infinity pool is big enough for laps, but ideal for an intimate sunrise champagne toast.

Wake to sound of silence – rainforest surrounds you, and in the distance, waves lap the beach. Call for banana pancakes to be delivered to your villa. Float in your pool, looking up at a clear blue sky. Take a midday stroll through tranquil gardens inhabited by Buddha sculptures. Arrange a massage for two that starts with a scrub made from black sesame seeds and honey. Dine on duck confit in red curry lychee sauce as you enjoy 360-degree views of the sea.

The whole experience of staying at the Pavilions for the 14 nights was the best holiday we have ever had. The staff at the Pavilions could not have been more friendly and helpful during our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any member of staff and our treatment was just 1st class. I would strongly recommend staying at this venue.

excellent service, good mutual communication´╝î fantastic feeling. I lost my cellphone in taxi, and the hotel staff helped me to get it back. And the restaurant manager, who traveled and worked in many places and countries, is really kindness.

We stayed for 8-nights on this our 8th visit in our favorite Ocean View Villa and again enjoyed our wonderful stay. The villa is spacious with it's own infinity pool and lovely views of the sea and sunset. Everything was at is usually is. Comfy bed, good aircon, free wifi and bar area. Decent sized pool and sun loungers. With the addition of the Pavilion Suites and Firefly there is another food venue and pool to use, if you want to see other people. The addition of the gym and spa is great. Somewhere to get some exercise when it rained and I never did enjoy the in-room spa treatment so a dedicated spa space was great. Spa treatments are priced at 5* rates but they were offering some deals, As it was "rainy" season the resort was quiet and the suites are not yet well known. The food at Firefly was great and drinks reasonably priced and or par with places in other eateries in and around Laguna. Wine as usual is exorbitant - $50+ for a typically at home sub-$10 bottle. Food at Plantation Club is more Thai or International whereas Firefly is more grill/pizza based. They still have the 2-hrly shuttle bus to the beach and boat village. But the sean was too rough and the beach too dirty this time of year. Much better in dry season. A hotel car at Bt350 or taxi at Bt300-400 oneway trip can be arranged - still expensive in my view but that's the taxi mafia-cartel in Phuket (the still one unpleasant thing on the island). Will be back, at some point.
