About the Hotel

The Slate is no ordinary beachside resort of thatched-roof cabanas – in its secluded location against a backdrop of dense rainforest, it crosses into the territory of cutting-edge design hotel, and the juxtaposition of nature and industry is alluring. The inspiration for The Slate came from owner Wichit Na-Ranong, whose ancestors led the country’s development through the tin mining industry. Na-Ranong pays tribute to “black gold” through sleek architecture and dark color motifs punctuated by objets d’art. Restaurants Rivet and Rebar, led by chef Fabrizio Crocetta, serve up some of Thailand’s most innovative and eclectic fare.

Paradise on Earth!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is a perfect place we would love to spend time and end our two week holidays with beloved ones. In particular after the chaos in Patong which we will never do it again. Since the booking process, until the arrival, during the stay and departure. It was just top-notch and seamless, under the leadership from K.William (Hotel Manager)! Fantastic Resort, Peaceful Location in Nai Yang, Interior design, Facilities, including the pools and F&B offerings We traveled all around Thailand and Europe, most of the time we only stay in the luxury and lifestyle properties. The Slate Phuket has now become the top 3 faves list for both destination and resort. Once again, thank you to K.William and the team for the warm hospitality and making our holidays the most meorable. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Retreat After a Long Flight!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My wife and I stayed at The Slate Phuket for one night upon arriving in Phuket, and it was the perfect start to our journey. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport, which was convenient, allowing us to quickly settle in after a long flight before heading to Elephant Hills the next day. We booked a private pool suite, and it was absolutely amazing. The ability to relax in our own space, take a swim, and just unwind was exactly what we needed. The room service was prompt, and the food was delicious, adding to the overall comfort of our stay. In the evening, we had cocktails at Rebar, enjoying the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. While the bar (or the hotel in general) wasn't bustling with activity, the peaceful ambience allowed us to unwind and enjoy our drinks in a serene setting. Although the hotel restaurants looked great, for dinner, we chose to dine outside the hotel at one of the beachfront restaurants (Sea Almond) as we wanted the sea views. The next morning, breakfast had a great selection of fruit juices and various different cuisines. One suggestion we have is for guests arriving on early flights who are unable to check in until 2 pm: having a dedicated private space for changing and relaxing would be helpful. We had to get changed in the lobby toilets, which were nice toilets but not really designed for changing in!

Excellent luxury with 5 star service and accomodation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed for 2 nights in May and wow - it was truly incredible. We had a poor experience at another 5 star hotel and drove down the road to The Slate which is now our favorite place to stay. William, the hotel manager, kindly welcomed us upon arrival. He was so hospitable and friendly and gave us his namecard and asked us to contact him if case of anything. Check in was smooth and the front desk reception gave my wife a beautiful wrist lotus, cold towels and welcome drinks. They were so gentle, kind and made us so relaxed. They escorted to the room and wow - the room had wonderful toiletries, and design is edgy and artistic. We realised William so kindly upgraded us to a Pearl Suite with an outdoor bath tub. We didnt expect anything because we checked in so late but the receptionist went above and beyond and asked us if we needed any extra water, pillows or anything before she left. We came back after dinner to a surprise - champagne to welcome us. We are so surprised and touched. I have worked in many 5 star hotels and i recognise and appreciate good service - the team was really incredible. The staff are very well trained - everyone from even the gardener welcomes you as you walk past. The recreation manager, khun baow, is very friendly and gave good information about hotel facilities and the signature Thai restaurant which is located across the small river. Breakfast was very delicious, the spread and quality of food is very good. Everyone was so polite and gave us the warm and fresh food - plates were cleared very fast. The gift gallery shop receptionist is so friendly and we ended up buying many beautiful room sprays and oils which my wife loves. We have one more night here and i am confident it will be just as spectacular. Thank you very much Khun William and entire team for such a wonderful stay. You have made my wife and I smile and we cannot wait to come back again :)

Best 60 Birthday dinner at Black Ginger. Never leave the place without visiting the restaurant for a meal. Unique vibe

Food was out of this world. Always book a room with a private pool you wont regret especially if weather is too humid. The Black Ginger restaurant is the highlight of the hotel itself . Staff are all respectful. Will definitely come back soon.

Fun family hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

A family friendly hotel - a good solid product for what you pay even in high season. The highlights are Black Ginger - one of the best meals I’ve ever had - and the fact you can walk to the beach and do tourist stuff like massages and hair braiding. Fun for the kids! I didn’t find the room meticulous (wasn’t dirty just not perfectly cleaned) and the general vibe is perhaps more of a 4.5 star hotel than a true 5 star but that’s reflective in the pricing.
