Sri Panwa in Phuket, Thailand

Perched high atop Cape Panwa, villas at Sri Panwa feel like tropical rainforest tree houses – on three sides, glass windows reveal a panoramic expanse of the Andaman Sea and a terrace infinity pool melts into the horizon. A white sand beach invites long lounging days at the bottom of the craggy hillside, while at the very top a sexy rooftop bar beckons with the perfect sundowner cocktail. If a postcard of paradise could be three dimensional, this is what it would look like.

Slip into the cool water of your infinity pool directly from bed. On the horizon, verdant islands shimmer in the sun. Take a mid-morning nap on the deck as tropical birds rustle in the trees. Spend the rest of the afternoon lounging at the Pool Club, one of CNN International's top two beach bars in the world. Feast on a Chinese fondue-style hotpot with a table of friends before dancing til daybreak at Baba88.

Attended a wedding here and can easily say it was the most beautiful event I’ve ever attended. Wedding facilities are breathtaking. Food and beverages were also perfect and the reception was astonishing. Staff are very professional and well trained and the whole evening was perfect. I personally didn’t stay at this resort but many members of my family did and said it was lovely.

I stayed here for my friend's wedding in this beautiful resort and was very excited about my stay. I stayed in their Pool Suite West and the room is very spacious, clean and as you would expect from the price tag. The wedding was amazing, fabulous view at Baba Beach Club, absolutely breath-taking on the day. However, when I first arrived I had only been informed that in order to have a drink there, reservation is required at least one month in advance. I wish it was made obvious to me at the time of booking! Anyway, on my first day of arrival I had reserved a table at Baba Pool Club instead with a great ocean view for my last night at Sri Panwa. On the day of the wedding reception, some of the staff were not at their best level of customer service. The way they communicate with the guests were rather rude and blunt. I chose to ignore that and didn't want to make a fuss on my friend's wedding day. However, on the last day of my stay at Sri Panwa, when I arrived at Baba Pool Club for my reserved table I was informed that I could only stay for 30 minutes as the table was reserved from 730pm onwards. This was an unpleasant surprise to me, as I had booked 5 nights in advance and I wasn't informed about this. The staff were simply rude and had no communication skills to try and find a solution for their double booking. In the end the guests didn't even show up, but the staff did not apologise and the service was slow. We all ordered some dinner and as a trained professional chef, I thought my Chicken Phad Thai was rather cold when it arrived. My second mouthful confirmed that the chicken was actually raw and I reported this to the restaurant manager, Na. I have returned to my home town for over a week now and I still have not received any communication from the management team at Sri Panwa. On the night when I informed the restaurant manager about the raw chicken, he simply did not know what the hotel policy was to deal with the situation. He had also tried to take the evidence away from me! In the end I had to explain to him about the steps of procedure for recording this in their accident log book and he did not even offer to take the dish off my bill. I had to ask for it. I was extremely concerned about food poisoning as I had to fly home the next day, all he could offer me was that he would take me to hospital if I fell ill over night. I should hope so! I was absolutely flabbergasted. Food hygiene for any food establishment should be their number one priority. There was another wedding at Sri Panwa the next day and I wonder if their staff knows about the risk of food poisoning for young children, pregnant mums and the elderly? I am extremely disappointed about the customer service level, food hygiene and food safety management. The quality of their food is also not up to scratch for a 5 starred resort, I would urge them to have a review of their F&B team as I have had better food from street food vendors in Thailand!

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in a pool suite. The room was nice, and the hotel amenties were excellent. It includes 3 pools, many restaurants and a buggy service that bring you to anyware in the hotel (sometimes needed since it is a very big resort). The service provided by all staff members was above all excpectations - all of them were very nice and welcoming, and every request was taken care of immediately. We ate at the thai restaurant, and enjoyed the food very much. The breakfast was also very good.
